The change from his usual two part structure was refreshing! The modulations would be wild for a Classical or Romantic composition. It almost feels shocking when he finally returns to familiar material after that brief E-flat minor moment.
I love this one ! The second part is absolutely fascinating in this sonata. I think that the main melodic pattern in the beginning was used by Mozart in his 2nd sonata in F major (third movement) and by Beethoven 2nd concerto (also third movement). And of course, Scott Ross has a perfect phrasing but we already know that 😂
