Guys, what I like most in this family is the differences in gun taste each one of you have. Being 62 yo myself, I have a more “cowboyish” taste like you Dad’s. Single actions and lever guns ( and 1911s) are my favorites. I’ve really enjoyed the Ruger mini 14 compliments…a really top rifle, nowadays much shadowed by the AR 15 variations.God Bless. Happy Trails.

I don't watch many 30 minute videos of guys talking, but you guys really do this well. And...
LOL, I'm pretty sure Brian has guns in every room because he'd need to rent storage space if he didn't

Love these guys, especially dad and his .45 guns, revolvers and his experience in life. They all remind me of a outlaw gang from the 20’s & 30’s. They’d give Frank Hamer a run for his money. 😆
That BAR would show any intruder who’s boss!

Love the videos! The more I think about it, the less I think it's about the specific gun you have, and much more about how skilled you are with it.

Great to see the G22 along with all the other great firearms. My G22 has the Glock light mounted and it’s my bed pistol. I do keep it in a kydex holster just so I don’t accidentally get the trigger when I roll around in my sleep. The beauty of this holster is that if I grab the firearm and give a flip of my wrist the holster flies off the pistol. No two hand draw needed.
I keep an 890 next to the bed. And a G29sf on the table next to the bed.
Plenty of edged “tools” and lights in arms reach.
One important tool is motion activated security lighting.
Years ago I thwarted an attack outside my house late at night but it was quirky luck (like Dad mentioned, pay attention to how your animals are acting. My outdoor cats alerted me to the danger before I heard the footsteps. I was feeding them after work at around 11pm) and a bit of skill on my part, but I never saw the would be attacker. Luckily I made it inside the door and grabbed my SA revolver in 45 Colt and called 911. I immediately installed outdoor motion lights and started carrying, even at home. Usually a Jframe or a PM9.

    Great video.
In the bedroom, My wife's 3 inch S&W M64 is there but doesnt show. On my side of the bed I keep 2 Glocks out of sight. I use A G26 in the summer for CC when it is hot and a G34 in the winter under a jacket. Both are instantly available.
If I stand up and open the closet, there are shelves on the left. Guns are a 12 ga 870 which I have used in various styles since 1965, an AR-9 with two 32 rd mags in a coupler, and a bullpup 12 semi auto with a 10 shot magazine.
The 870 has a 18 inch barrel with extended mag, side saddle and is set up for a bayonet. There is also a 40 rd 12 ga snap on shell belt with the bayonet and scabbard hanging on the wall. I would probably grab up the 870 first. The shotguns are loaded with a Low Recoil 9 pellet OO Buck load. The farthest I could shoot in the house is 60 ft. This load will pattern at 10 inches at that distance.
You have a great channel. Keep up the good work.

Good job on the video's guys!
I carry a cz po7 most of the time. Have a sig 226 and flashlight close to the bed. Keep a rem 870 12 ga close by along with a 223 and a 10/22 for varmints. A 629 sw 44mag for backup when hunting. I had a 625 45 acp that i shot with for my conceal carry test that Dad now has.

Jake! Your arsenal is not at all outdated, only "beefy". Jeff Cooper said it best: All the great cartridges had been invented over 100 years ago (most in the 19th century) with the possible exception of the .44 Magnum, but! Magnums are for DISTANCE and overkill for home and hearth defense. The old man seated all the way over on the right wearin' the suspenders? He, Taffin and Seyfried taught me much and for that I remain indebted: "Heavy" .44 Special, baby! yeah... 250/255 gr Keith LSWC over 7.7 (my two-tenths hotter load for a true 1000 fps) grains Unique in Special brass loaded into one of three Ruger New Model flat top Blackhawks so chambered. That, too, may be overkill for HD (and the firearms hard to get) so my nightstand guns are Springfield 1911s. My repeating long guns for HD are usually a .357 lever carbine (there are two but the Rossi being the less expensive would be the more-disposable even though it has had a lot of TLC administered to it). Shotguns are shotguns and LE/reduced recoil double-aught buck loads the usual cartridge for HD. Anything else creates a risk of gross overpenetration here in suburbia. Best to you all. Sons to be proud of! pops! Cheers!

Your right! Untimely it's all about training with what you have. You can use anything effectively if you practice. Jeff Cooper was right... it's hard to beat cartridges like the 44 special, 30-06, 45acp etc

My wife has 1 gun , a ruger 96/44 lever .44 magnum . Serves as bear protection and home defence . I make her shoot it once in a while , because you need to be familiar with your gun in a stressful situation . I'm very familiar with all my firearms.

Excellent, educational video- I’m at least 10 year’s older than Brian- here in SW Montana my ammo choice for 357mag, 9mm, 30-30, 45-70, etc. is primarily BB hard cast outdoorsman- when I have to travel to the city (Oakland,Ca !) I’m always heeled but with Gold Dots or HST & double00 buck in my 870 tactical & it’s a very short visit - rather deal with 4 legged predators than the 2 legged variety ! Our canine friends are the best alarm system 🦖🇺🇸🦅🥩
