I think crazy train would have been first if it wasn't for Jeff Hanneman's death. Sure Raining Blood's riff is amazing, but Crazy Train is just memorable. Even non-metalheads have heard that riff at least once.

Exactly, no Megadeth no Death, the songs that actually changed metal.
Mainstream songs are often really catchy, which is probably why so many mainstream songs are on this list. For example, The Evil That Men Do is my favourite Maiden song, but The Trooper just has a more catchy melody, so it makes sense that it’s on the list

Technoir Holy Wars came out in 1990, So I'd take something from Peace Sells to take its place.

Some of the memorable 80's riffs I would pick are Metallica Seek and destroy, For whom the Bell tolls, Jump in the fire. Megadeth ,Peace Sells, Wake Dead. Suicidal Tendicies How will I Laugh or Institutionalized. Death Angel I'm Bored. Testament Practice What you Preach, The Preacher. or Souls of Black.
Helloween I want out, Slayer The Antichrist or Angel If Death. Savatage Gutter Ballet or Hall of the Mountain Sanctuary Battle Angels or Future World. Black Sabbath Mob Rules. Dio Rainbow in the Dark or We rock. So many memorable Riffs. Another reason the 80's were awesome!

1) Before watching the video I said "Breaking The Law" is No1.
2) I didn't expect Guns & Roses to be included in this list.
3) Any Maiden/Metallica/Sabbath riff is equally the greatest riff of said band so it's hard for me to accept Trooper/Puppets/Heaven&Hell, respectively, as their greatest of this decade.
4) I did NOT expect Guns and Ros.... I said that already !
KIMB and Peace Sells has some od the most insane guitar works in history and it's not even a honourable mention and we get GnR
