I found so interesting the part about the stereotype of gyarus being mean or bitchy when they actually are just forward and honest. I used to be into lolita a few years ago and I remember conventions having such a toxic enviroment. So many people were being so polite and sweet on the surface and then being super judgy and shit talking everyone behind their backs if they didn't like their outfits so, yeah, definitively the gyaru way is so much healthier and positive. If you have an oppinion on someone, just say it to their faces, but don't prettend you like them just to shit talk when they're not around.
usually people say others are mean and rude when really they aren't. this happens all the time, ex. my mom said I had an attitude for talking quietly with no prior reason to think such. It's just how some people think unfortunately-
I wish life was more like this! I'm not rude, but I won't pretend to like someone if I don't. I also am honest, though not brutally. I don't like playing games like huh does this person like me or are they just faking?
As a kid I remember being obsessed with the Gals. They were like the scene queens I knew but mixed with DDR electronic vibes and extravagant makeup 💝💖🌺🍉🌴🌊✨
I'm young, and live in a poor/unsupportive country, so I'm worried to wear gyaru clothes, and do gyaru makeup cause I'm worried about being bullied yk? I used to know about gyaru and tried it, didn't work out at first, so I stopped, after a while I got back into it and absolutely fell in love with the style, I'm hoping to find more gyaru content, and try to work with what I have :) ❤ Edit: it's been a year, and I rarely do gyaru anymore, i still do the hair and makeup sometimes, but I fell in love with another style. I recommend everyone who still loves this style to take it slow! Don't try to get the style now, take your time to build your wardrobe and makeup. Love you ❤
Unfortunately (in Japan at least) Kogal run the risk of being bullied, slut shamed,or over-sexualized. But that’s because Japan doesn’t promote individuality and a lot of Japanese men think of Gal as “trashy” “promiscuous” “gross” and “ugly”. Kogal/Nachatte (if you’re out of school but wish to wear a uniform EVERY DAY) is I’d the say the tamest style of Gyaru. Very very light makeup, loose socks, accessorized uniforms. Look into Gyaru. Gyaru isn’t just droopy eye makeup and provocative clothing. There is over 100 sub-styles. Some bohemian, some over-the-top. But def do research beforehand

ANYWAYS enough fangirling over here, I have a question if anyone can answer...I have always had a secret admiration for Gyaru, I don't have any friends that are into it, or would even understand it. My question being, If I wanted to finally take my dream into the public and try Gyaru, would it be acceptable or frowned upon to try the style for Halloween, or for Comic Con, or Anime Con. I totally understand that I don't want to say or portray that Gyaru is a form of Cosplay....I guess It would just seem easier to me to try for an event that people dress up I guess? What are your thoughts?
I will try my best to work on this! I am having some trouble finding people for this but if you have any suggestions for anyone who wears Yume Kawaii (preferably those who have worn it for a couple of years), I would appreciate it ❤
I love this subculture so much, as far as feminism goes, I feel like gal's carry that badass Sailor Moon senshi girl power energy that's so feel good and just empowers everyone around them. Barring the potential classist stuff that comes from brands, I'm impressed at the support that exists and that there are people keeping it alive and helping each other be the best GAL they can be. I'm a guy in his 30s now, but I used to listen to Hamasaki Ayumi, Eurobeat, Namie Amuro and Koda Kumi back in the day. I never realized until recently that with my artistic appreciation for makeup and fashion came from my hidden lil gal heart 😂. I look way too manly to even attempt anything though. But who knows, maybe I can look into gyaruo stuff.
Thank you so much for doing this! ❤️ Listening Chris and Shiena was so fun and interesting. I really hope more baby gals and people interested in the style want to join the comm. And today we started with the panels for the 109 Month, but we’re having all kind of activities and challenges. 🥰❤️

I want to wear gyaru and I first found it about 3ish years ago from the anime Please Tell Me Galko-chan! Galko-chan is a gyaru and she is super pretty and smart! :)
going to be honest some the blogs linked for ''resources'' are just mean spirited ''do it yourself'' long winded posts. at least the ones by sei. even if gyaru was dead, how could we be surprised when no one wants to even help others without having an attitude.
I'd love to try out gyaru but I'm not super good at makeup and prefer more minimal looks? would I have to do super intense makeup to fit into something like kogal as well???
There are lots of toned down gyaru make you could try, it also depends on the style of gyaru you're into because every style has its key points including makeup, kogal makeup is not as flashy so you should be okay ^^ but if you're not asian you would have to focus on the shape of the makeup a little bit more so its read as gyaru
If you want to try looks with a Japanese school uniform, what you're looking for is Nanchatte! Kogyaru is part of the Gyaru style, so bold makeup is a must.
HELPP THE SAME GIRL ON THE THUMBNAIL IS ON MY PFP- anyways i love seeing other gyarus in the wild internet, and if u wanna be gyaru i definetely reccomend watching kawaii pateen makeup tutorials, explore which substyle you wanna be and make other gyaru friends! online friends or irl friends dont matter.. and if ur over 18, you can join a gyarusa! just a reminder to NOT support egg magazines. theyre problematic as fuck
@@paraparadise they exploited little girls (aka minors) in their insta, and probably supports underage.. uhh freaky stuff. they have also partnered with "softboiledegg" who is a gyaru music uploader, and made a song containing sexual lyrics in a song while the actresses dressed up as UNDERAGE girls
I have enough clothes to be called a gyaru but I'm not of the legal age to drink and go to nightclubs yet😮💨😔 and do how to find people in Sweden who dress like this and I get really nervous when I talk to people so...
i've been in love with this style for over 10 yrs & i feel like im too scared to try it but i wish maybe one day.. 🥲 it's so nice to see it still around tho!

This just enables an culture that looks out for image more than honesty and makes you an easier target to be sniggered about behind someones back.

Please do! They are so rare. I barley see them.
Gyaru is so beautiful and Gyaru will ALWAYS keep thriving HEHE
Thank you so much for doing this! ❤️ Listening Chris and Shiena was so fun and interesting. I really hope more baby gals and people interested in the style want to join the comm. And today we started with the panels for the 109 Month, but we’re having all kind of activities and challenges. 🥰❤️
I apologize for being off topic, I thought for a moment you sounded like Punkalopi.
i love super gals!
when gyaru dies, i die. we must keep it alive forever
i wanna start being a gal but i also need a whole gal squad :(
the gyaru discord link isnt working 💔
Tbh I’m more into the school gal aesthetic I always wanted to be it but I couldn’t afford it😩😩😩😩
I love gyaru!!
This video was really good ! I think you asked all the good questions so tysm for that ^°^ !
Also the discord link has been expired is there another way for me to join ? Ty
Does anyone have the discord link? The description links expired! :(
please let me know if you find it!
I can't find the discord
I want to wear gyaru and I first found it about 3ish years ago from the anime Please Tell Me Galko-chan! Galko-chan is a gyaru and she is super pretty and smart! :)
18:45 aged amazingly haha
The new Gyaru style is so much better
going to be honest some the blogs linked for ''resources'' are just mean spirited ''do it yourself'' long winded posts. at least the ones by sei. even if gyaru was dead, how could we be surprised when no one wants to even help others without having an attitude.
I feel like the spice girls were gyaru without even knowing it lol.
I'd love to try out gyaru but I'm not super good at makeup and prefer more minimal looks? would I have to do super intense makeup to fit into something like kogal as well???
just try nanchatte!
If u dont really like the makeup and just wanna wear a uniform then u should probs get into nanchatte
If you want to try looks with a Japanese school uniform, what you're looking for is Nanchatte! Kogyaru is part of the Gyaru style, so bold makeup is a must.
Is the Discord still active? The link didn't work and I'd really like to join. I'm new to the fashion and would love to talk to others about it.
please let me know if you find it!
does anyone have the link to the discord server as the link is invalid
please let me know if you find it!
HELPP THE SAME GIRL ON THE THUMBNAIL IS ON MY PFP- anyways i love seeing other gyarus in the wild internet, and if u wanna be gyaru i definetely reccomend watching kawaii pateen makeup tutorials, explore which substyle you wanna be and make other gyaru friends! online friends or irl friends dont matter.. and if ur over 18, you can join a gyarusa! just a reminder to NOT support egg magazines. theyre problematic as fuck
heyy im new to gyaru and stuff, can i ask why or what the egg magazines have done? If that makes sense
@@admiremeari oh wtf, ty for telling me tho
hii! sorry to bother but do you still have the discord link to their server??
please let me know if you find it!
Got into Gyaru watching nonsummerjack 😳
Help! The discord server link doesn't work anymore! :(

I'm so sorry about that, just updated it so hopefully the new link works!
