- Today I replaced my worn out column bearing with an upgraded one from Wolff Engineering.
This product works on most GMT800s and is a great upgrade to reduce the rattle from the steering column

Wish I would have seen this earlier, just bought 2 of the green bearings to replace on my 2 trucks. Thanks for all the info
I installed this a few weeks ago and made a big difference. A bit of a challenge to install, but worth the effort and expense.
My 02 is about ready for this. I’m a big guy and 265lbs, I HATE working under the dash, but if I don’t no one will lol.
Thanks for the tip and video, just have to get my gumption up lol.
Thanks for the video. I just installed this in about 15 mins tops, and now i have no more noise. Thanks for the recommendation
This is great! I’m glad this video popped up. Thanks for sharing.
I just bought one based off your video to fix my repeated issue! This bearing looks stout!
Thanks Seth!
Just got mine in. The old one I had to melt out with a propane touch because it broke off flush. New one slipped right in!
I have one waiting to be installed. Forgot how easy to was. I recently had replaced with the dorman part and the intermediate shaft. Shouldn’t take long just replacing the bearing.
How did you both get that flush??? I can’t get it flush. Just stopped moving.
Sick nasty😂
How do you remove play in your steering? There’s a dead zone in the steering where nothing happens when you turn the steering wheel left or right. You have to go past that dead zone to turn the wheel.
New steering gear box, RedHead
GM gear box has an adjustment bolt. Just loosen the compression nut and adjust with Allen wrench. Lots of videos on this.
Definitely try tightening the adjustment key before dropping big bucks on a new box
Thanks for the video. Where is that steering wheel from?
Grant performance
Where did you order or get your column bearing from?
It's from wolff engineering, I put their link in the description
What exhaust is on your truck? It’s so quiet…….
3” Mbrp downpipe and 5” Mbrp exhaust
Damn I really want one but I think my steering wheel position sensor might be in the way😂🤣
The company makes one for the steering wheel position sensor also
I stick with the OE style bearing personally on all of my trucks. OEM one lasted nearly 20 years, a replacement $20 factory style one will likely last just as long.
Can't do it on 09 and newer without removing the column so dumb
