Vehicle vs hydrant floods 6 homes, displaces up to 16 residents

* A driver lost control and crashed their car into a fire hydrant, shearing it off at the base
* The water flooded 6 homes, potentially displacing up to 16 residents according to the Battalion Chief at scene
* Red Cross was requested to assist the residents
* The driver was evaluated and then let go by police
* Residents could be seen using buckets to empty the 4-6 inches of water in their homes
* Firefighters also set up a pump to help pump out some of the water
