El Cajon : Caught On Camera: Driver speeds off during I-8 police chase hot stop

#ELCAJON (San Diego) - April 7, 2023
- Police responded to a report of a man with a gun threatening family members
- Officers located the suspect near Friars Rd and Ulric St, leading to a pursuit which traveled eastbound on Interstate 8
- Video shows the suspect's truck stopped in the #1 lane of eastbound Interstate 8 near Los Coches Rd, the K9 being deployed, the suspect going back into his truck, officers going hands-on, the suspect driving away, and then what appears may have been a single accidental discharge {00:35} of the officers service weapon.
- The suspect continued on before crashing, bailing out on foot and being taken down by a police K9
