we just found $20 on the ground last week, my niece was thrilled. It likely flew out of someone's pocket (our bills are plastic) so our good luck! Thanks for dispelling these strange paranoid delusions that so many folks have these days.
Thank you for addressing this. I hitch hiked the country for a year in my early 20's and spent a lot of time in parking lots. I was blonde, thin and pretty. I attracted a lot of attention. It was remarkable how often a person would give me a ride saying, "you can't stay in this town, it's not safe here. People are crazy." They'd drop me off at the next town, and wouldn't ya know, it's hear the same thing from the next driver!
I quickly learned how this county is full of mostly good people who are terrified of each other because of messaging like you're deconstructing.
No one attacked me (except for the drunk man I traveled with) and I had 2 sex work offers and 2 modeling offers...none of which I took. Had over 200 rides with strangers, rode freight trains and saw dozens of states. We're not in danger ladies, nor do we need to be rescued!
Oh, and the reason I thought traveling with a drunk heroin user was a good idea, was because I came from an abusive family who taught me how to take abuse from men. Angela is 100% correct!
