most my familurarity with these sorts of guns are in video games which sadly often never do these weapons the true justice they deserve in my opinion. From a tactical viewpoint i'd prefer a weapon like this for home defense or cqb, one of the main things that puts me off about my 12 guage is the barrel length makes it hard to imagine being able to clear corners and manuever around doors effectively, lately i've been staring at bullpup rifles for this reason, something like the helion would be ideal for me i think.
Mike has always been my favorite guntuber. I've learned so damn much from his videos, it's crazy. Thank you flannel daddy, for all you do. So far I have avoided being burned by a suppressor. To be truthful, I have never paid my tax penalty and actually asked permission from our government so I can own one, but I still have avoided being burnt.
Hey Garand, you mentioned that a shorter barrel will have less barrel life than a longer barrel. That is not true my friend. What dictates barrel life is the chamber sharpness and lands erosion at the chamber. I get a new barrel every year for my match seasons due to a drop in accuracy of .5 moa to .75moa on top of a .25-.4 moa standard. What ends up happening is after firing 2000-3000 rounds, 5000+ in a .223 barrel, the chamber becomes rounded off and the first inch or so of the barrel erodes. This causes harmonic issues with the barrel but more importantly it causes inconsistent lands engagement and inconsistent chamber pressures. This leads to a drop in accuracy and is why you have to replace your barrels. I have barrels that have shot out and the last 10-15 inches of the tube's rifling still looks great but the first 6-14 inches looks absolutely horrible from fire cracking. I run 26-32 inch length barrels for scale. With those AR barrels, depending on if it is internally chrome line or not, they can last for 5000-10,000 rounds before dropping accuracy from stock form. If you borescope one of these barrels at that point you will see the lands towards the end of the barrel still look great but the chamber area will look like a badger got in there and tried to eat Micah but in order to eat Micah they had to chew through your chamber first.
That is true BUT shorter barrels tend to wear quicker on FA and heavy use in short time fire schedules. The flash and heat generated is a ridiculous. The cut down barrels are even more noticeable because they are incredibly overgassed for reliability reasons and then they are put through hard use Firing schedules AND the cut down barrel isn't a great barrel contour for barrel life and cooling.
@@BobSchmidty A lot of shorter barrel rifles get mag dumped a lot too. Heat is the killer here, a cold clean barrel won't destroy itself like a red hot abused one.
I can review that one...shakes like all my other SIGs. Accurate AF. Short-reset trigger added...and it's just like a Legion model now. The BIG bonus is it doesn't have the SIG proprietary curved-bottom rail, it has the standard MIL-SPEC 1913 so it takes ANY rail-mounted light or laser. It's a lot of $ for a nice slide with an anchor on it, but if you have to have one, you should do it.

Mark 18s were more derived from colt commandos 11.5 than the m4s colt commandos actually pre date the m4 what they had wayy back were generally called car 15s which eventually became m4
No. The Mk. 18 was an entirely new short AR derived directly from the M4 and unrelated to the CAR-15/Commando/XM177 series. They are similar ideas but they didn't take the XM and develop the Mk. 18 from it.
I heard the guys on Tactical Hyve mention that the development of reliable frangible 5.56 is what ultimately led to the replacement of the mp5 with the mk18 on Seal teams.

@@duranbailiff5337 You nailed that one!!!
I used the PEC-2 plenty of times just hate how big it was and affect how I wanted to grip the rifle. It was a good device tho and did its job. I enjoy the PEC-15 more since it’s smaller and more efficient for me

That Black Hawk Down intro though 🔥
Loving the black hawk down music
“ATF… why ah yoo geh?”
Some of us saw the thumbnail and thought "hell yeah that was the best airsoft load out 20 years ago" and our nostalgia induced fingers clicked on it
Yeah not wrong
At first I thought he did a vid on the Tokyo Mauri M4 S System.
I think all of the coast guard operators love the Mod 0 because they have to, not because they want to. (The CG doesn’t get URGIs or Mod 1 or newer)
Micah's jacket is quite based
Love the Mod 0!!!
Probably one of my favorite intros so far!
GT always comes correct with the fit and vibe
Lovin' the night time desert over layer! As a 19D from back in the first Gulf War I used both the top and trousers as a base for a ghillie and it worked out really well.
most my familurarity with these sorts of guns are in video games which sadly often never do these weapons the true justice they deserve in my opinion.
It would be a dream come true, to come shoot with you some day. You have so many of my dream guns, that I've always wanted to shoot, and your range is incredible. I'm proud of you. Keep em coming dude.
Thank you Micah, I was waiting for the C Moore Butts joke. You did not disappoint 👍👍👍
For silly reasons, this is still one of my favorite builds I've done to date.
So far I have avoided being burned by a suppressor. To be truthful, I have never paid my tax penalty and actually asked permission from our government so I can own one, but I still have avoided being burnt.
There might still be time to delete
It's probably because shorter rifles are more fun than longer rifles to send a lot of rounds downrange.
@@BobSchmidty A lot of shorter barrel rifles get mag dumped a lot too. Heat is the killer here, a cold clean barrel won't destroy itself like a red hot abused one.
OMG Love the old school delta force helmet black hawk down vibes all the way, even got the old school delta force camo love it
Rachid Taha (RIP) - "Barra Barra". Excellent.

Hope you’ll make a SEAL style review of the P226 mk25 one day.
Cheers from Switzerland
I can review that one...shakes like all my other SIGs. Accurate AF. Short-reset trigger added...and it's just like a Legion model now.
The BIG bonus is it doesn't have the SIG proprietary curved-bottom rail, it has the standard MIL-SPEC 1913 so it takes ANY rail-mounted light or laser.
It's a lot of $ for a nice slide with an anchor on it, but if you have to have one, you should do it.
intro song is rachid taha (barra barra)
Deployed with 10th MTN to Haiti in '94. M16A2 with a PEQ2 and PVS-7B's. The good old days. Still, deploying to the 'Stan in '07 with the M4/PEQ13/PVS-14 combo was much better.
Mark 18s were more derived from colt commandos 11.5 than the m4s colt commandos actually pre date the m4 what they had wayy back were generally called car 15s which eventually became m4
When I was a sheriff deputy we used 11.5 because at that time it was easier to get than a mk18.
No. The Mk. 18 was an entirely new short AR derived directly from the M4 and unrelated to the CAR-15/Commando/XM177 series. They are similar ideas but they didn't take the XM and develop the Mk. 18 from it.
That hoodie is amazing 😍
Also.....the C-more systems red dot is pretty cool.
I geeked when I saw the back of Micah’s hoodie
RIP Micah's bio. Great video, you guys are killing it!
The vibes are strong with this one
How cute! It's an outdoor toy they made smaller for inside play.
As soon as I saw the back of Micah's sweatshirt, I audibly laughed out loud
I love that C-More red dot and iron sight combo! Major props to you, Mike!
Ah this songs brings flashbacks of Mogadishu aswell as that rifle
The XM177 was the grand daddy of them all.
See what I did there.😂
Dude that kit has all the damn vibes. Idk why it gives me the feels but it does. 🔥
Love Micahs' hoodie!!!
I heard the guys on Tactical Hyve mention that the development of reliable frangible 5.56 is what ultimately led to the replacement of the mp5 with the mk18 on Seal teams.
Normally don't do two comments on one video, but definitely the best dad advice ever layed out on Garand Thumb.
Absolutely solid dad advice at the ending. I am not a service member, just a plain old American, freedom lover. I value trust, honor and respect above all. I want to pass this on to children if I'm so fortunate.
trust, honor, respect.. 3 things I barely ever encountered in the military...
