  • For this project, I tried Dowel Jopintery for the first time, using my Dowelmaster jig. Once I understood the principles, it was a nice easy build. Lots of drilling though.
Also, in the video, the frame work magically changes from plain wood to Glossed white! i lost the footage of this process!!
    Hope you enjoy the video!

That turned out great. This maybe exactly what I’m looking for. Something that doesn’t take up the whole room but capable of opening up into a usable piece of furniture.

Thank you for posting this. I have a table that was probably built in the 1800's. It has two drop-down leafs, which when extended, makes the table horribly unbalanced if ANY PRESSURE is placed on the extended leaf. I will, somehow & someway, add two more swing-out legs as you did for this table.
Thank you for also including a snapshot of the table leg stop on the underside of the leaf. Good idea!!!

This is great! I've been working on a table to take with me to uni and wanted it to be as a stand for my tv or a table to play board games on, if it wasn't for your video i'd have been stuck on how to make the gate leg mechanism! Thank you so much!

I really did enjoy that build. How much time do you figure you have in it? I would like a copy of the plans when you draw them up, I'll be sending you an email. God Bless my friend.

Thanks Frank! In total, I would say it took about 8 evenings or so. I'm limited on clamps, , so each table topside took one day each to glue up, same for the gate legs. Then painting took another day. Stain and varnish was one day each per coat due to the climate here in Ireland. To assemble took only a few minutes. Drilling all the dowel holes took all day Saturday. I took my time on this build for sure!!!!
