Perfect Dado Jig
Made a JIg for cutting Dado's with a Palm Router. You must use a router cutter with a mid bearing, i,e not below the cutter, but above, next to the shank. The Jig goes over the work peice, and the bearing runs along the jig, cuttinf the peice below to a perfect Dado

Garden Table restoration
Переглядів 3332 роки тому
My garden table needed a bit of TLC, so I took it to the workshop and completely changed its look. I stripped it down, made a new leg, cleaned it up, sanded it, varnished it, and brought it back to life again! what a difference some hard work makes! The only thing I bought for this project was some sanding discs and 8 stainless steel hinges. Follow me: INSTAGRAM : Andy_Elliott_1 FACEBOOK : face...

New desk for less than €50
Переглядів 3213 роки тому
We decided to revamp the office area, and the first job was to get rid of the old corner unit that we had for the PC, and make a brand new desk for 2 people to sit at, side by side, and we spent less than €50 on the whole thing!!! Mortice Gauge
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 роки тому
I decided to see if i could make my own Mortice gauge from some mahogony strips and some brass. I cut the wood on the mitre saw, glued them into blocks, then cut to size on the table saw. i added some brass accents for decoration. I sanded to 800 grit to polish the brass, and then finished the whole thing in Danish oil. Follow me: INSTAGRAM : Andy_Elliott_1 FACEBOOK : westcorkwoodw...
How to make a Potting table
Переглядів 3,7 тис.4 роки тому
A Friend of mine wanted a Potting table for his new greenhouse. After looking at buying one, he asked if we could make one, so we did. We spent the same amount of money on the wood, as a we would have done with a store bought one, but the one we built was a lot more sturdy, and will lost a lot longer. we used 6" Pine boards and 2"x 1" for the legs. The left over parts were then cut into slats f...
Gate Leg Table

For this project, I tried Dowel Jopintery for the first time, using my Dowelmaster jig. Once I understood the principles, it was a nice easy build. Lots of drilling though. Also, in the video, the frame work magically changes from plain wood to Glossed white! i lost the footage of this process!! Hope you enjoy the video! Unboxing my new Charnwood B350 Bandsaw
Una mierda tu video y el artefacto ...
Nice work. I use my drill press for assembly.
Good review thanks. Like you also comparing this to the Axminster
these plans still available ?????
Hello Andy I am Tommy like you I am a hobbyist woodworker or my wife a UA-cam watching woodworking hobbyist 😂.
Is there any other Irish UA-cam channels or a way of finding them other than pot luck
I sold a bunch of these , not exactly these. But I got a bunch of free wire spools. Used those to make the Base for the wishingwells . I only owned, a Skill saw a small mouse sander & a cordless drill at the time. after i sold my first one I was able to buy a used table saw. It had a bent fence & couldn't get strait cuts with it. but i still have & use it. I started making more wishingwells. Same way using Wire spools. & made a bunch of old school Hand water pump looking things. with a bucket as a planter . then bought a router . made a bunch of noodle boards. bought a small band saw . & bought a belt sander. Now I'm working on a few bigger things don't want to give away yet. But have a feeling, my new project is gonna not only buy me a new table saw. But also think my pallet work shed is gonna get replaced, with a proper shed. that will be turned into a heated wood shop. with dust collection. then I will not have to wear a dust mask every step of the way. but I've got high hopes for my new build. oh & I also use free pallets. & recently acquired. 30 Bowling ally pin setter pallets. so they are all 2x6 or 2x8 with 3x4 inch runners on them & they are 5 feet square. so amazing free wood. so To those who don't have much by way of tools you can literally build these with a hand saw & a drill. or hammer & nails .
@controversialhunter8032 I love that story! I really hope your new shop dream comes true for you, really do! It's amazing what you can do from pallet wood with basic tools. People seem to love the rustic look. The only limit is your imagination. Good luck my friend, I wish you all the best for Christmas, The New Year, and all the years after that! Good luck!
@andy.elliott.foreverpens thank you, & Happy holidays to you and your family as well.
Great video thank you very much!! And that was me trying to figure out how to put together following &£&#& instructions from far east… All the best Merry Christmas Yiannis
👍👍👍. Thank you Andy
I use a Zebra Z grip click pen parts as my pen kit. The parts I use are the click cap an d the part under the rubber is cut off to use as the ink end. No inner sleeves are used with this method. I use a 4 inch pen black as my wood part. Total cost to make a turned pen is less than $3 because I purchase my Zebra click pens from Amazon for about $1 per pen. Have you tried this method?
Great simple jig that just works. Need to make one of those myself. wonder is there a way to fit a square guide to it to make it quicker to use.
👍👍👍. Thank you Andy
When are we getting the workshop tour?
@brendanlenane2685 yeah, must do one once I've tidied up a bit! 🤣
I'm starting this project myself
Então, a decepção começa quando ele dá uma amassadinha de leve na lateral da latinha para amassar depois na máquina, procuro um projeto que não precise disso.
Nooice!
Earned yourself some brownie points there.
Where the heck did he find a pallet that nice. Great job making the box bud. Good to see you back in the workshop. Enjoy your week off.
amazing wasn't it! Couldn't believe it when Dan showed me. Fair play to him, he unloaded like 20 boxes of oil to get it out for me!!
@@andy.elliott.foreverpens good buddy to have
👍👍👍 I'm sure she will be thrilled with the seed box. What are your thoughts on the Living Sensations saw? Thank you.
Hey Pete! Honestly, It's okay for the money. It cut well, and I like how it has 2 teeth TPI to choose from on. The handles feel a little cheap, and it doesn't close back up smoothly. On mine, the blade catches a small pin that holds the handle on. For $15 though, its not too bad! Thanks for watching!
@@andy.elliott.foreverpens So it's rough and ready but it does the job, I'll consider getting one. Thanks Andy
Beautiful pen thanks
Why didn’t you use wood glue? Liked the video
Very nice what about sizes
Hi Andy, could you give me the dimensions and instructions. Ive just started woodworking and yours is my favourite mail box, especially for the UK
Hi sue! Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate it. Unfortunately we have moved house since I made this, and didn't take it with us. But roughly, it was about 16 inches high, 10 wide. Roughly!!
'Promo sm'
Thank you
You did a fine job, so now you'll have to make another to put underneath the other window. .😉
Stunning pen.
👍👍👍.Thanks Andy
Great to see you back on UA-cam
Thanks bud! Been a while!
👍👍👍. Thank you
What grit sandpaper did you use? My band saw table is a tad rusty.
Hi Jeff. I used 240 grit mate
👍
goodluck with the new shed pal, looks great. I cover my bandsaw table with a square of 1/4" mdf, the exact same size. have a slot cut in it to allow the blade to fit in. works well long term when its not in use. have the same for my planer thicknesser beds. worth a try IMO
That was great... Excellent workmanship... Now that you got your "Round Tuit" you should get a lot of stuff done that the rest of us only think about! :)
got one this week am very pleased with it BRILL
What lathe and size are you using?
Hi Chris! In this video, I was using the Charnwood W815 lathe. charnwood.net/product/mini-lathe-chuck-package-deal/
Thanks Andy, hoping I can get something similar here in California.
Nice job. I'm doing something similar myself. 6.2 degrees miter and bevel. Once I cut the board. I left my miter saw alone and brought the board straight over to the right to cut the other ends. You flipped yours and spun them? I'm lost
Very cool. Thank you for sharing
I have just purchased a deluxe pen press from Carbatec in Brisbane. I have not used it yet I have just opened the box. Previously I used my pedestal drill and a block of wood or my vise. Neither method was comfortable to use. I really can recommend you buy a pen press and also a pen blank drilling centre vise. Final comment there is no such thing as a cheap hobby, but you do get to learn new skills and have a lot of fun.
Fantastic video! It's funny how these have been intimidating me for months and finally I find your video and see that it is easier than a slim line!
😊
boring dot talk just do it
Hi Andy, I'm at a serious crossroads as regards a bandsaw. Can't bear my old Screwfix any longer. After 3 years, would you still recommend? Decent enough price in Mallow tools at the moment. Thanks. Shane. Ennis.
Yes mate, I would buy the exact same one if I had too without hesitation. Its a great saw, I've had zero issues with it.
SAFETY FIRST!!!!!! OSHA will be contacting you very soon!
thats ass
The pen was stunning, the box is also elegant in it's own right!
👍🇮🇩🇮🇩
I love the look of the wishing well, but for those of us who have never built anything, some instruction would have been helpful even if it's only in text form.
Lovely job 👍 Bless your little nipper, so cute Love the end, if you know you know Probably 😂
Anxiety kicking in with those sleeves!
What was the picture in the back ground, looked satanic?
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
