Guido's Pit Stop Scene is one of the best scenes in Pixar
Peet stope :)
When I was a kid that was the coldest scene in a movie for sure
There's a reason why the video of all guido's pit stop has 18 milion views...
Nah, those 4 fancy rowdy cars always take that spot.
He changed all four tires faster than a whole team and ALONE. Imagine a whole crew with his level, less than a second pit stop.
You’re honestly such a comfort UA-camr, the natural flow of comedy but also empathy and emotion really gives off “drunk girls night in” energy
that’s all I’m aiming for honestly 😂 thanks!
Omg, that's the perfect description 😄
This is such a good comment and also true 😂
@@Seth748 Never met a girl named Seth before. Is that short for something?
Damn i guess im feminine lol i get drunk and watch the reactions all the time helps me decide on what to watch.
9:22 Fun fact: the animators actually made every third blink a bit slower on purpose
Thank you! I really thought that was in my head! Ohh thank god I'm not crazy 😂
I THOUGHT I WAS TRIPPIN WITH HIM DAWG 🤣💀
if you go to cars land at California Adventure in Disneyland the traffic light does the same thing there.
Yeah when my kid pointed it out last time we were there and it messed with my head
The greatest adult joke in a Disney movie was Mater saying “He did what in his cup?” When Lightning said Doc “won 3 piston cups”.
The scripts in Pixar Animation Studios films go from make you laugh to tug at your heart strings. That's what makes them so successful.
That, and the 2 car girls that "flash" McQueen
Also, when Mater hooks up to Lightning's backside and he's visibly uncomfortable lol
Mia and Tia flipping their "highbeams" at McQueen - they're Miatas (Mia and Tia) and their headlights actually flip out like that, brilliant joke
Don't forget Doc's quote during the final lap "drive it in deep".
Took me decades to figure out that of course Mater would be good at backwards driving because tow trucks are always backing up to hook up to stranded vehicles.
I was today years old....😂
Literally never thought of this until now 🤦♂️ thanks for putting my dumb brain to good use 😂😂
I actually met the guy who was the inspiration for Mater during my Route 66 trip. He can turn his leg 180 degrees, hence the backwards driving! His name is Dean ‘Crazy Legs’ Walker!
I can’t believe this is how I figured out
Also the “tuh mater” joke is just him saying tomato 🍅 😂
Not a bad way to end an illustrious career for Paul Newman (the voice of Doc Hudson). He sadly died of cancer in 2008.
Whoa that's funny how there's a mention of Paul Newman by Cheech Marin in one of the Cheech & Chong movies and then both Cheech and Paul Newman happen to be in this movie together.
Paul is one of my all time favorite actors. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Nobody's Fool are both in my top 5 movies.
And Fillmore played by George Carlin RIP
@@Belhade don’t forget the utterly delightful THE STING (1973), which even won Best Picture. Speaking of which, thanks to THE STING, the director George Roy Hill became the first person ever to direct 2 films to earn $100 million domestic (BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID and THE STING). He received Best Director Oscar nominations for both and won for the latter. Both movies also won Best Original Screenplay (with THE PRINCESS BRIDE screenwriter William Goldman winning for BUTCH CASSIDY).
This was also Paul’s highest grossing film.
Sad sidefact, the Ferrari in the end, that stops over at Luigis, he's spoken by Michael Schuhmacher, the top F1 Ferrari Pilot, he had a skiing accident shortly after and has been in a deep coma since then. Jus thearing his voice made me tear up over here. Totally forgot he was in this one.
that is untrue, Schumacher has been withdrawn from the coma since April 2014. You are right that unfortunately he hasn't made recovery and is said to be paralyzed/having trouble speaing.
Schumacher, post first op, was put into an artificially induced coma to continue treatment to his bruised brain
Eventually, in Jan 2014 the process of waking him up began and he woke up in April 2014
Hudson Motors Co. dominated NASCAR in the Early 1950s (specifically 1952-'54) with the Twin-H 6cyl Hornets. Doc's paint job is heavily based on the original factory "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" cars, like that of Marshall Teagues and Herb Thomas. This movie is so well done (as is the 3rd one) and really acts as a love letter to Route 66.
This is actually a really good Pixar movie. I still listen to this movie’s cover of Life is a Highway whenever I go on a road trip. It’s a fun movie at the end of the day. Ka-chow!
Huge debate over the Cars Goat, Piston cups👀
True dat
Twenty years ago, "Mayberry" was in heavy rotation, and I couldn't escape it. The nearest radio to me on the factory floor was always tuned to a country station, and it would play "Mayberry" several times a day. Ever since then, I can't stand Rascal Flatts. Gary has a very distinct twang, and it grates on my like nails on a chalkboard. I get why fans like it, but I just can't hang.
That's all to say, I much prefer Tom Cochrane's original.
@@chrissmalley83 Well, in that case, you must be pissed that the Rascal Flatts version gets more views than the Tom Cochrane version. You are literally one of 4 people that actually likes the original version of the song.
I listen to the cover more than the original version. Also, Sheryl Crow's Real Gone is amazing. Kachigga
This movie has a bunch of racing and automotive celebrities with VA roles. The King is voiced by NASCAR legend Richard "The King" Petty, Bob Cutlass is voiced by NBC Sports commentator Bob Costas, Darrell Cartrip is voiced by retired NASCAR driver and FOX Sports announcer Darrell Waltrip, Rusty and Dusty Rusteze are voiced by hosts of NPR's "Car Talk" Tom (RIP) and Ray Maglozzi. Jay Leno, Mario Andretti, and Michael Schumacher voice car versions of themselves. Paul Newman and Michael Keaton were both racers as well as actors.
Don’t forget Dale Earnhardt Jr voicing Junior.
@@Fuzz32lmao that's funny he basically voiced himself or his car rather

They did that when dubbing locally in other countries, too. in Norway they had local popular TV sports commentators as the voices there, race drivers as race car voices etc.
Dont forget Cheech Martin as Ramone, and George Carlin as Philmore (the hippie van)
Your reaction is the first time I’ve seen cars in like a decade, and wow I forgot how creative and fun it is. I love that their car model matches their personality, there’s so many jokes kids won’t understand, and there’s some cool symbolic cinematography.
6:49 They actually made a whole new version of "Life is a Highway" FOR this film

@@NatalieGoldReactsI you want to learn about NASCAR watch a video called NASCAR for beginners
Fun fact! Radiator Springs is a REAL town. It's actually called Holbrook, Arizona and it is just like the movie. The cozy cone even exists only instead of traffic cones, They are wigwam teepees. The town is just as dead as the movie shows, so it makes me really happy to see people react to this movie as it's super close to my hometown ❤🙌🏻😅 lots of love 💕
This is still a favorite movie of preschoolers and kindergarteners. And dads/grandpas who either like NASCAR or reminisce about Route 66. It doesn't try to revolutionize anything about animation, but it's a textbook example of how to take a familiar story template and apply it to a new context, flesh out the characters, and give it broad appeal. All the story pieces are in the right place and have space to breathe. I've always had a soft spot for this one. Glad you enjoyed it!
Here in Germany the dubbing voice for Lightning McQueen in "Cars" is Daniel Brühl.
The guy who played Niki Lauda also voicing Lightning McQueen is kinda great.
And the voice of the Ferrari that comes to the shop looking for tires is Michael Schumacher.
Zemo!
@@TehFrenchy29And I believe Lauda himself voiced The King.
It's a masterpiece James
What I love about Cars is how McQueen developed as a character throughout the movie. Sometimes being in a difficult position can teach you so much about yourself, just like when he got stuck in Radiator Springs and learned so many things about himself
This movie is so relatable. We all have goals, and when things don't go as planned, and endup in a place we dont want we learn a lot from being there. It's like a prize in disguise.
* Radiation stinks *
“It’s just an empty cup”
Probably one of my favourite movie moments. This teaches you a lesson to have humility and that you don’t always need all the glory or to win all the time. It’s a lesson that a lot of people I know still need to learn.
Also my other favourite moments in this is “Life is a Highway” and when Doc races again. That drift sends chills down my spine every time
4:22 the numbers on the race titles are the distance they race (500 miles, 600 miles, etc). Laps depend on the size of the track and how many laps it takes to go the 400-600 mile distance
Omg the Mazda Miatas “Flashed” their pop up up and down headlights at McQueen!!!!! And Micheal Schumacher at the end getting tires!!!! God I miss him.
A real Micheal Schumacher Ferrari!
Also Darrell Cartrip is voiced by real life ex NASCAR commentator Darrell Waltrip.
The movie is filled with famous real life racing legends as cameos.
Part 2 had Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and part 3 had Fernando Alonso.
To name some other F1 Legends.
On the UK version of the movie Jeremy Clarkson voices his manager
I just had to look up who voiced the Ferrari, can’t believe it was Michael Schumacher!
I'm an old Sports Car Club of America race worker. Ignored this film for years because I heard it was NASCAR-centric. Big mistake on my part. My daughter brought over the DVD on a visitation weekend, and I spent most of it saying, "Holy S! that's really (real racing guy)!!" The announcers, some of the race cars, I was just blown away. That scene with McQueen (named after the actor, Steve was also a racer) chasing Sally down the windy road brought tears to my eyes..I've actually done something like that on a 'track day' where people are allowed to drive their street cars on the race track. To 'car people', it's like dancing with someone you love. Oh, and the yellow flag on an oval means 'accident - slow down'. IIRC, all flags are waved on ovals. For sportscars, if displayed motionless it means "do not pass anyone", displayed waving it means "you may have to avoid something". And the little car in front of the race cars is called a Pace Car in the US, and Safety Car elsewhere. RIP Paul Newman..he was a member of my Club. The rule was only talk about racing (he'd talk your ear off)..the movies were his 'day job' and he didn't want to be bothered with it. He was actually good at it, won four National Amateur Championships and placed 2nd in the 24hr race at Le Mans one time.
McQueen was actually named after Glenn McQueen, a Pixar animator who died a few years prior to this movie.
Glad you had such a great experience with this movie though!

This is an example of how to make an animated movie that appeals to adults and kids. innuendos are just vague enough that adults will get them but will fly over kids heads, real life personalities behind the voices, and its fun along with decent life lessons about respecting others and honoring the past.
One of the things about this movie is that it manages to be fun for everyone while being doubly fun if you're a racing fan and get the references - Daryl Cartrip, Junior, "Mario Andretti knows my name!", who the King is, etc.
You did miss that the Ferrari in the end wasn't just any Ferrari, it was seven time World Champion Michael Schumacher, who voiced his own car both in English and Italian. Guido and Luigi fainting is the appropriate response to him coming into their store - Michael was a god in Italy.

Originally, Mack was gonna be a Peterbilt truck but it turned out that John Ratzerberger's dad was a truck driver who drove a Mack truck so they made McQueen's truck into a Mack, while the truck who Lightning mistook for Mack, was made a Peterbilt (voiced by the late co-director Joe Ranft, who also voiced Red and was the scratch voice for Mater before Larry the Cable Guy was casted).

This movie is dedicated to Joe Ranft, who sadly passed away during the production in 2005 in a (tradgically irony) car accident. He and his firends were riding in Ranft's car when Elegba Earl, who was driving the car, lost control over it and crashed through a guard rail and went into the mouth of Narvarro River. Ranft and Earl were killed instantly in the impact while their friend Eric Frierson survived and got out through the sun roof. Ranft was the co-director of Cars and voices Red and Peterbilt. His memory was also decidated in Tim Burton's Copse Bride.
Joe Ranft was the storyboard artist and story man of many Disney Animation films of the late 80's and early 90's such as The Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast and the Pixar films Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc, plus The Brave Little Toaster, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. He also voiced many characters like Elmo St. Peters and the clown in Brave Little Toaster, Igor in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lenny in Toy Story, Heimlich and a fly in A Bug's Life, Wheezy in Toys Tory 2 (he also reprised as Heimligh in the credits blooopers), Pete "Claws" Ward in Monsters, Inc. (In the same movie, one of the scarers has the surname Ranft as a referee to him) and Jacques in Finding Nemo (his brother Jerome took over voiding him in Finding Dory).
I showed this movie to my twin sons when they were three. They are now almost 17 and still watch it, so this movie is special to me in that regard.

I just watched it for the first time and caught myself smiling so much
18:12 that editing nearly made me spit out my drink.
Cars was one of my main childhood movies ngl, and after seeing how iffy everyone was about it I was kind of scared to rewatch it. Turns out it's still pretty good! I love its chill, low key vibe and tbh, I think I appreciate Cars more now than I did when I was a kid. Also, I actually really like Mater, and I'm tired of pretending like I don't lol
One of my favorite memories relating to this movie was when we went to go see it in theaters my sister had to go to the bathroom, so my dad took her, but she wouldn't use the toilets there because they were automatic and she thought those would suck her in (she was 5 at the time). So my dad had to drive her home to pee and then drive her back to the movie so they missed like 30 minutes of it. One of my dads favorite stories to tell from when we were younger lol. Also would like to point out that The King is actually based off (and voiced by) number 43 Richard Petty! He's considered one of the best NASCAR drivers of all time so it's cool they got him in this!
My son didn’t like the automated flush toilets either. But I just covered the sensor with toilet paper and it wouldn’t flush until I wanted it to flush.
Great choice, it was so much fun watching this with you. For me, I love the voice actor matchups to each vehicle, and how EVERYTING including the scenery is automotive related down to the piston rods holding the carport up at Flo's. Oh, and the bumpers all falling off the rival pit crew after Guido does his thing changing tires is priceless.

Grown ass man here, love cars and tear up at the end every time.
The sequels are fun but not a patch on this.
The second one is basically a James Bond film with cars.
I actually thought the third one was pretty good, and arguably better than this one. The second one was just plain bad in my opinion
Yeah skip Cars 2. It literally has nothing to do with the story. Cars 3 is where it actually continues.
Cars and Cars 3 are genuine bangers. Cars 2, on the other hand...
If they had focused on the WGP in Cars 2 instead of the spy movie stuff it would have been so much better.
What I love about Cars and Cars 3 is that we never see Lightning McQueen actually win a race in Cars, which is important for his growth, while we have to see Cruz win a race in Cars 3 as it’s important for her growth.
But yeah, Cars 2 decided to be a complete tonal shift.
Cars 2's main problem is how out of place it is. Like, it feels like a spinoff, not a sequel. And even as a spinoff, it just feels super weird that it takes place in the same universe since the tone is so vastly different. I will say, once you get past all that, it's pretty fun to watch because of how ridiculous it is. Like, that movie is probably one of the main reasons why people talk about how nonsensical the Cars universe is lol
Cars 2 and 3 get campy. And not in a good way. Didn't feel like Pixar was trying. The poster for Cars 3 was rad, though.
Cars 2 is interesting and actually pretty fun. Not a masterpiece but certainly interesting.

I absolutely adore your Ted Lasso reactions and will watch them occasionally whenever I need a pick-me-up just because I’m such a big fan of that show and enjoy your reactions to it that much. This is definitely getting added to that playlist because this is my favorite movie (I was 6 when it came out and chose this movie to watch on repeat during my formative years lol). Seeing someone get to watch it for the first time and make the connections throughout the movie (Lightning using the things he learned from Mater and Doc in the last race) and enjoy it so much is so awesome. Hopefully you’ll watch the other 2 movies (Cars 2 is definitely a trip).
That scene you cut in with the crash around the corner, amazing. Seen this movie so many times and got thrown off there, well played...
"The King" is based and voiced by Richard Petty, 7 Time Winston Cup Champion and 200 wins
As a big (but new) F1 fan, hearing Michael Schumacher at the end was so emotional. But also a few other F1 drivers have voiced some of the cars in the later movies (eg. Lewis Hamilton as himself, or Sebastian Vettel as Sebastian Schnell(German for fast), or Fernando Alonso as a assistant something (I don’t remember right now) in the Cars 3 movie) and like some comments already mentioned quite a few NASCAR drivers/legends have voiced characters in the movie franchise. So it’s really cool rewatching this movie, now knowing how much of racing and it’s history and different series really live in this movie.
Actual Formula One Ferrari pit crews sporting Guido tattoos is like the meta Cars reference we all needed!

The numbers for NASCAR or Indy car races can either mean the number of laps or the number of miles, depending on size of the track. (Ex. For bigger tracks and races like the Daytona 500 and Indy 500, it is 500 miles. And then smaller tracks like Bristol, such as the Food City 500 is 500 laps).

I think one of the coolest things in this movie is that the director and artists traveled Route 66 to get ideas on how to design Radiator Springs. Most of the buildings were directly inspired by famous landmarks. Cars 2 was trash, so I would stay away. Cars 3 was decent, but Cars blows them all away.
Well i guess i have to be the only person that adores cars 2 then....I completely get that it should have been a spinoff mater movie but aside that it's my fav cars movie. I just like it so much.I get why people dislike it tho but it's an entertaining and fun watch to say the least.
Cars 2 is a fascist movie and I wish I was kidding. Like, did nobody think it was weird to have a racialized underclass of cars, that were simultaneously weak and cowardly, but also powerful industrialists with hands on certain levers of power? Did nobody think that was kind of anti-semitic? Replace lemons with jews, and it reads like a piece of nazi propaganda.

The restaurant is still there since the truckers still stop by there to eat, as well as the workers from the quarry next to it, but the candy shop that I always went to to buy candy closed down. The PIT maneuver you were thinking of is short for Precision Immobilization Technique.
In racing, especially endurance races (the Indianapolis 500 is 500 laps, hence the name, and thats a lot of driving), your tires wear out and you use up gasoline, so you stop in the pit for your team, kind of like a team dugout in baeseball, (located on pit road, a designated infield lane) to get tire changes, refuel, fix mechanical issues, change drivers, etc.

It's basically Doc Hollywood, but with cars instead of doctors
Doc Hollywood?
Oh my God I could only make it like 6 minutes in before I started getting teary eyed because I grew up on this movie and it influenced my love for cars but watching your blind reaction takes me back to my childhood when this movie was still fresh and idk I'm just overwhelmed with emotions thank you for this video I'm gonna try to finish the video without crying lol
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I would say it's not bad.
It is the outcast, stepchild of Pixar's first 11 films. There are the Golden Ten...and then there's Cars.
Still, Cars belongs to the era before Pixar's fall from grace.
I think I would give "A Bug's Life" the outcast award, although I do like it a lot. I actually should rewatch it. It's been more than a minute since I've seen it.
Please give the Star Trek franchise a chance. 🖖🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿
This movie brings me way back! My parents used to play this in the car and I'd watch it NUMEROUS times since we didn't really have other options. One of, if not my favorite childhood movie to this day. Watching it with you made me feel nostalgic and a bit emotional ngl😅 I still have a small sticker-poster that has Lightning, Sally, & Flo on the wall in front of me right now!
Love watching your reactions, Natalie! As someone also relatively indifferent to cars, this movie definitely surprised me as well back in the day. I also got to finally go out West and drive bits of Route 66 last year and it made this movie hit so much harder.
Would love to see you react to another wholesome and fun movie called That Thing You Do! Tom Hanks’s directorial debut in the 90’s, it’s so fun and not many reactors do it. Please and thank you!
"Peet stop!" -------- I cannot wait until you watch Cars 2, an amazing sequel that is mostly about Mater.
you should def watch the next 2 in the series! they're all really good
this movie is about enjoying the small stuff and most importantly enjoy life while you're still alive. Lightning had to learn that the hardway because he was spoiled and obnoxious until he arrived in Radiator Springs
This is a very wholesome reaction and I love that you even gave this a chance.
was so happy to see you did this reaction!
I remember my mom taking me to go see this movie in theaters back in 2006. Still remains one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies.
This was a really heartwarming watch ❤️
You're in for a ride~ The second film is a fun romp and the third is a nice bookend (and 3 hits harder the older you are imo).
Great reaction, love that you give all sorts of movies a chance, thats the best way to find the real diamonds out there. Another great animation, although different from Disney and Pixar, is Mary and Max (2009).
So glad you got into the world of Cars😊
My favorite is Planes: Fire and Rescue, it helped inspire my firefighting career
Fun Fact! For a while, I lived in the town Radiator Springs was based off of!
(And also, the third light IS ACTUALLY just the tiniest bit slower!)
This is one of my favourite Pixar movies. The casting is insane, the soundtrack is phenomenal, the design of everything, and the story itself is amazing. So emotional that you forget it’s cars.
I hope you watched all the way to the end
Disney and Pixar
I loved the song Find Yourself in the end credits. It's one of those songs that hits hard for someone that, maybe, never knew what home was.
Natalie you are the best, I love this silly movie and it was too much fun watching along with you.
Omg I can’t believe you reacted to my favorite childhood movie 🤩 I had the DVDs, blankets, toys, heck one of birthdays was fully cars theme lol
When this first came out I went to see it with one of my oldest friends and we were both big racing fans. We geeked out over the various NASCAR and racing cameos!
The Ferrari that visited Luigi's tire shop at the end is voiced by Michael Schumacher. A man who retired from racing because winning had become boring. A man whose passport at one time listed his residence "podium". A man who won his first championship with a car he built in a cave, with a box of scraps (that's not true, there was no cave). What I'm trying to say is that the man is a racing legend.
I'm always happy to see your reactions👍🏼 this movie is really great🔥👏🏼
