Wait wait wait.. Cars came out 6706 days ago.. and you’ve watched it over 4000 times.. meaning on average you watched it atleast once every 36 hours since it’s release😮😮
Doc Hudson was famously voiced by racing legend Paul Newman. It's fitting that he voiced Doc, a racing car who still had more to give, because, sadly, two years later, he would pass away from lung cancer.
52:15 As awesome as Doc is, I think King is the unsung hero of this film. He tries to give Lightning a lesson on the values of teamwork and while they didn't react to it here, he actually smiles a little when Mcqueen does that drift. That's why he actually lets him win the piston cup and tries to keep Chick at bay.
That subtle smile from King after McQueen takes him on the last lap really shows the character King has. He really was happy to see the young rookie coming into his own the proper way, and did what he could to make sure Chick didn't get close to him at the end.
Im a little disappointed that they haven’t seen a lot of movies/shows that at this point you’d think everyone from every generation has seen to some extent. It also weirdly makes me feel old even though I’m only in my late 20s.😂
Actually, that "the worthless world building of Cars" video is pretty good. I goes through all the lore and also points out that these movies really....don't go into the world building of how a world inhabited by vehicles would work, like at all. It's really just the real world with a cars theme over it.
I like that Eric is the one asking the right questions on "How do these car people work!?" It is a very deep concept that people have gone WAY too deep with. I'd like to see how deep Eric can go. There is a Cars 4 coming, but I don't know when.
My favorite fun fact is that there is a Pope-mobile car (with the bulletproof glass and everything) meaning not only is there established religion in this world, but also that within the past few decades of this movie's events there was an assassination attempt on him.
What makes Cars stand out to me as someone who grew up watching it and became a huge fan of motorsports, is that they truly show so much love for racing. With having Richard Petty voice The King, all the little details, crashes that match with reality, stories that mesh with reality, all the racing icons and such that make cameos, little details they get right... Obviously there's still tons of innaccuracies for suspension of disbelief to be required, but even stuff like the tyre marbles and all, y'know? When changes from reality weren't needed for the sake of the story (and copyright) the movie really shows how much the creative team cared. It was also completely insane to me to go to a Sinclair (the basis for Dinoco, where the dinosaur logo came from) and go "wait so it's real?" Idk man. It's just nice to see all the little things sometimes.
The best thing about this movie for me personally is how it introduced me and my brother to Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts and it's still one of our favourite songs to date🏎️🚗🎵🎶
@ yeah but most children from around the time Cars came out remember the Rascal Flatts version and have no idea who Tom Cochrane is. I sure didn’t before your comment!
Cars 2 does it's own thing, while cars 3 feels more like a follow up to the first one. Each movie there's a time skip with cars 3 having a specific amount of time between the it and the first movie making more of a sequel to the first cars.
38:19 In a Deleted Scene “Community Service” they did take out Lightning’s engine and put into a Steamroller, so their essence is their engine that theoretically can be swapped into different bodies.
Fun fact: if you had bought the movie on dvd there were bonus scenes of their stop motion sketch’s that didn’t make the final movie. In there was a scene where they removed Lightnings entire engine and put it in a steam roller for him to fix the road and put maters engine in Lightnings body and Maters went to go race.
I think their tires are like shoes not their feet. I think their feet could be considered their rims and the tires are shoes and as they "run" (race) they ware down like they would for us and that's why they have to change them or they fall apart (just like ours do when we wear them forever and put them through everything)
Idk Why They Did That For Every Pixar Movie Except A Bugs Life The Incredibles And Ratatouille But Idk Why They Kept It For A Bugs Life Considering It’s Just The Normal Fanfare And No Other Music Playing In The Intro
@Sponge877 Yeah, I know it's really weird. It would have been nice to be able to see. Logo in 3D or something. I actually been using the logo for my. Thumbnails on on reviews. Because I know people missed the logo. So every time I review a pick's our movie. I have pretty much used that logo. In my thumbnails.
I remember watching some random interview and Owen casually mentioned his un-aliving attempt. I'm glad i wasn't drinking anything, because i would have spit it out. I had no clue. It was end of August in 2007. He did the wrist thing and took pÍlls. I'm glad it didn't work and he got the help he needed. Just looked it up, Marley & Me was his first movie back after the attempt.
The "Cozy Cone" is a riff on the Wigwam motels that used to be out there ("Sleep in a Wigwam!"), basically giant cement wigwams as rooms. There's still two left, one in California, one in Arizona.
I was just wondering whether you guys would react to this. A fun fact is, in the British version of this movie, Lightning’s agent is voiced by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear/Grand Tour fame
@@jeremytung1632 Yeah but Pixar, especially in the past, have often gone far out of their way for foreign versions. Even for the same language across multiple regions. Generally they also replace any text on basically any and all signs, posters, and banners in their movies to the respective language its dubbed into. Thats a level of dedication you never see from other studios.
Fun Fact: I got back to work after my “weekend” and my friends told me Owen Wilson came into the store, bought some stuff and then left without a word or commotion, I have never felt more sad that I wasn’t at work
Fun fact about Mater, is that when they asked him to try out for this part, it was only gonna be a small part, but they loved his voice so much they ended up rewriting some of the script for mater to have more screen time. Larry talks about it in an interview
10:43 Actually more countries drive on the right side of the road. Most of the countries that drive on the left were colonized by the British and so that why. Iirc the reason they drive on the left in Britain is because a law was passed a long time ago in order to reduce collisions but I could be wrong.
This video gave me so much joy, this is one of my favorite childhood movies. Never get sick of it! So happy you all enjoyed it, hope you watch the rest and get to experience the craziness of Cars 2 lol
14:18 those cars should have been arrested a while ago. That's basically attempted murder, I don't even believe that that hasn't been used by assassins yet.
I got this movie on DVD as a Christmas gift from one of my dad's coworkers when I was nine years old. I played the Cars game on PS2 all the time. Cars was as integral to my childhood as...just about anything else. People might dump on the 2nd movie, but 1 and 3 are great films.
My childhood Pixar film that I watched all the time so much so that till this very day that my father will still joke about the lighting McQueen faster than fast bit anytime a quick motion happens in any sporting event to make me and himself laugh.
I LOVE that Bree's favorite movie is Oliver and Company 😍😍😍 the scene of Georgette getting ready and singing Perfect Isn't Easy is one of my visually favorite movie scenes of all time
10:50 no the only country's who drive on the left instead of the right are Japan, India, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Mozambique, Suriname, East Timor, Indonesia, uk, ireland, malta and cyprus
It's funny how from the start of the film you guys were questioning the logic behind the car's anatomy and how they apply in their universe along with daily obstacles. Everyone questions the logic because you can tell that not much thought was given to the film's lore 😂. It looks like a world made for humans but it has sentient cars instead of the world being crafted for the sentient cars. A movie that did this correct with its world's aesthetic is Robots from 2005
As a former tow truck driver, the ability to back up accurately is very very crucial. Either you get very good at it, or you scratch a lot of cars. Thankfully I was good at it
Some race cars do have headlights because they race during the night. One of the world’s most famous races “LeMans” is a 24 hour race in France where 3-4 drivers take turns driving in shifts. They say it gets really tough going into the night because you get tired and smelling all the BBQ’s/seeing all the fireworks around the track distracts you
“The King” is a reference to Richard Petty, who voices the character in this film. Petty famously drove and dominated with a Plymouth Superbird (his character’s vehicle) for a single season in 1970. It was so dominant that NASCAR banned it after that.
52:19 Fun fact; The King's crash is actually a version of Rusty Wallace's crash at the Winston 500 in 1993. As he, too, on the final lap, got bumped by another driver. Leaving him flying through the air and spriling down the track. If you play both side by side, you can see the resemblance.
One of my favourite aspects of this movie was that it was a perfect honor trip for Route 66, one of the most famous highways on Earth. Heck, the man who voices the Sheriff is the leading historian for all of Route 66! And btw, "Find Yourself" is a great song, especially if you are guy like me who had to move to a whole new town, much smaller than the city you grew up in. I listen to it all the time, and have been praised for my rendition (trust me, a city boy singing country in a small town bar and not getting beer bottles thrown at you is always a good omen)
There's a deleted scene that kinda explains how the cars live. In the deleted scene the townfolk wanted Lightning to compete in their first ever Radiator Springs Grand Prix to lure travellers back to their town again. Lightning refuses, choosing instead to do community service. Only to wake up and see a reflection of him as a steam roller because Doc removed his engine from his race car body and put it in the steam roller, then he tormented him further by putting Mater's engine inside his original body. Then Mack shows up and picks Mater up, mistaking him for McQueen and drives off. Lightning begs Sherif to stop him but is forced to continue working on a road that is ten times longer than in the actual movie. The whole thing was then revealed to be a nightmare but there was an empty steam roller husk sitting in the corner. Panicked that what happened in the dream would play out in real life, Lightning changes his mind and agrees to do the race. So I think if a car wanted to change models they could by having their engines removed and placed into another body. That means the cars aren't them essentially but their engines.
Doc is a 1956 Hudson Hornet, a new sportscar designed to rival the corvette. It was discontinued due to the trend of a V8 outpowering the Hornet's Twin H power 6 cylinder, despite the Twin H higher top speed, the V8 was just simply a better built motor.
The voice actor they memorialized at the end credits also voiced Red in this film. He passed during production of it. It's kinda eerie that his last role didn't have any spoken lines just 2 "lines" of the character crying.
39:05, basically this conversation is asking how do I change my race without being racist, if you’re born with the ethnicity that you’re born as, you can’t just change race whenever you want, and Cars have actually died in this franchise so I don’t think putting new engines into them will resurrect them.
10:42 "we're one of the only ones that drive on this side of the road" dude, most countries drive on the right, the ones that drive on the left are mainly just the other former British colonies like Australia and India (which is probably why you thought driving on the left was the "standard")
So interesting fact about this movie. Pixar wanted to get this movie super accurate so they talked to one of the directors at fox sports for the racing scenes. When the announcers are talking about strip, chick and lighting and the pointer is off on chicks car they were talking a jab at SMT (formally known as sportvision)who does the graphics for the actual nascar events. Also if you look at the cameras during the races they have names on them one of them being turtle those are actual camera guys for the tv networks for NASCAR.
Fun fact, there was actually a "Trains" movie that showed some of it's concept art recently. It was like subway New York with the Spiderverse aesthetic but it only got as a far as showing the art and never got worked on. It would've probably would've been the best spin off since we all know how Planes is really garbo...
so fun fact all the other race cars and announcers voice actors are either actual NASCAR drivers or NASCAR commentators, even the rusteeze guys used to host a radioshow called "car talk"
"Why does it sound like a leaf blower?" Because the Volkswagen Beetle (AKA, Bug) had a rear-mounted, 1200cc, air-cooled engine...that's what it sounded like.
15:41 To be fair, as a truck driver myself. 2 tons is nothing when 40 tons of freight is about max before breaking DOT rules, 5 tons is something I will barely feel before thinking the trailer is empty.

"Where do you even go from here?"
Dude they're not ready.
3:21 The king is Richard petty a renowned NASCAR driver since the late 50s
Im a little disappointed that they haven’t seen a lot of movies/shows that at this point you’d think everyone from every generation has seen to some extent.
It also weirdly makes me feel old even though I’m only in my late 20s.😂
Same lol. I remember getting the DVD as a Christmas gift when I was a kid.
It was also completely insane to me to go to a Sinclair (the basis for Dinoco, where the dinosaur logo came from) and go "wait so it's real?"
Idk man. It's just nice to see all the little things sometimes.
The best thing about this movie for me personally is how it introduced me and my brother to Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts and it's still one of our favourite songs to date🏎️🚗🎵🎶
That and Sheryl Crow’s Real Gone for me.
Kinda the same for me, though it was my mom & I. Afterwards, it became our go to "heading out" song when we went on a road trip.
Wasn't that a 2nd version of the same song by Tom Cochrane?
@ yeah but most children from around the time Cars came out remember the Rascal Flatts version and have no idea who Tom Cochrane is. I sure didn’t before your comment!
The freezing cams made me laugh so hard. I need them to freeze on some funny faces
Is Sean being "Bree, the girl" a mistake or a joke I missed?
its simply because he is as soft as a girl
Let's get this comment noticed before a thousand of the same comment pops up.
IMMEDIATELY noticed it and i was hoping someone else caught it 😭
also the camera frozen on Bree and Ruff
No I picked up on that too, it was pretty weird and definitely eye opening
36:14 You are correct sir. This sequence is based directly on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pixar used it as a reference.
I love when the crew gets into these philosophical discussions over a family film 😁
54:23
Trust me, you are NOT gonna guess where the sequel goes from here
Cars 2 does it's own thing, while cars 3 feels more like a follow up to the first one. Each movie there's a time skip with cars 3 having a specific amount of time between the it and the first movie making more of a sequel to the first cars.
So basically it's Duology with a spinoff sandwich between it
38:19 In a Deleted Scene “Community Service” they did take out Lightning’s engine and put into a Steamroller, so their essence is their engine that theoretically can be swapped into different bodies.
Fun fact Cars Actually had. The 1995/2006 intro Originally. Unfortunately on Disney plus They removed it.
Idk Why
They Did That For Every Pixar Movie Except A Bugs Life The Incredibles And Ratatouille But Idk Why They Kept It For A Bugs Life Considering It’s Just The Normal Fanfare And No Other Music Playing In The Intro
"Is the soul in the electronic systems?" Something tells me there's at least 1 car without that in the town lol
Poor Owen
The "Cozy Cone" is a riff on the Wigwam motels that used to be out there ("Sleep in a Wigwam!"), basically giant cement wigwams as rooms. There's still two left, one in California, one in Arizona.
I was just wondering whether you guys would react to this.
A fun fact is, in the British version of this movie, Lightning’s agent is voiced by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear/Grand Tour fame
I had no idea there’d be different actors for the British English version.
@@Riku006 That aint a Pixar movie though. Zootopia is by Disney Animation studios.
8:49 Still one of the craziest adult jokes ever😂😂😂😂
I love they just casually make a flashing joke
Fun Fact: I got back to work after my “weekend” and my friends told me Owen Wilson came into the store, bought some stuff and then left without a word or commotion, I have never felt more sad that I wasn’t at work
Fun fact about Mater, is that when they asked him to try out for this part, it was only gonna be a small part, but they loved his voice so much they ended up rewriting some of the script for mater to have more screen time. Larry talks about it in an interview
Dude, the soundtrack for this movie is GODLY
10:43 Actually more countries drive on the right side of the road. Most of the countries that drive on the left were colonized by the British and so that why. Iirc the reason they drive on the left in Britain is because a law was passed a long time ago in order to reduce collisions but I could be wrong.
It’s also because when a joust would occur, the knights would go down the left side of the fence.
This video gave me so much joy, this is one of my favorite childhood movies. Never get sick of it! So happy you all enjoyed it, hope you watch the rest and get to experience the craziness of Cars 2 lol
Cars is my favorite childhood movie and today is my birthday ka-chow
happy bdayyy
@@salliejones6002 thx
Happy birthday 🎉
Oh my god, it's mine too 😮
@@muriloaugusto4697 no way that’s awesome
14:18 those cars should have been arrested a while ago. That's basically attempted murder, I don't even believe that that hasn't been used by assassins yet.
I assume that these guys are some sort of bikers
I got this movie on DVD as a Christmas gift from one of my dad's coworkers when I was nine years old. I played the Cars game on PS2 all the time. Cars was as integral to my childhood as...just about anything else. People might dump on the 2nd movie, but 1 and 3 are great films.
My childhood Pixar film that I watched all the time so much so that till this very day that my father will still joke about the lighting McQueen faster than fast bit anytime a quick motion happens in any sporting event to make me and himself laugh.
That is amazingly wholesome :)
51:33, 51:38, 51:50
Guido is so fast at repairing. He just owned Chick Hicks' pit team. Their mustaches just dropped. Peet Stop
😲😲😲🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE that Bree's favorite movie is Oliver and Company 😍😍😍 the scene of Georgette getting ready and singing Perfect Isn't Easy is one of my visually favorite movie scenes of all time
35:24 I *NEVER* get tired of that iconic joke!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never gets old
One of best Pixar films ever made.
It has happy times, bad times and memorable times.
What a wonderful & incredible film.
10:50 no the only country's who drive on the left instead of the right are Japan, India, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Mozambique, Suriname, East Timor, Indonesia, uk, ireland, malta and cyprus
Australia and New Zealand
24:36 McQueen’s classic Roast 😂😂😂
Best Pixar opening; and a classic film for us Boys growing up!
52:19
Fun fact; The King's crash is actually a version of Rusty Wallace's crash at the Winston 500 in 1993. As he, too, on the final lap, got bumped by another driver. Leaving him flying through the air and spriling down the track. If you play both side by side, you can see the resemblance.
The king's crash actually happened in real nascar, and it's just as insane in footage.
the froze cam was unexpected but funny loved the reaction can't wait to see the next ones
My favorite Pixar movie. After I got it on DVD for my 10th birthday I would watch it over and over.
I love Cars so much. Especially the beginning
4:50 literally chick should be in prison he did attempted murder in this movie
The longer this series went on, the more questions were raised.
When Ruffs camera freezes, he's mogging the entire time lmao 🗿📸
39:05, basically this conversation is asking how do I change my race without being racist, if you’re born with the ethnicity that you’re born as, you can’t just change race whenever you want, and Cars have actually died in this franchise so I don’t think putting new engines into them will resurrect them.
"Cars" was peak Pixar!
10:42 "we're one of the only ones that drive on this side of the road" dude, most countries drive on the right, the ones that drive on the left are mainly just the other former British colonies like Australia and India (which is probably why you thought driving on the left was the "standard")
Still one of the hardest lines in any animated movie:
"You see trophies, all I see is a bunch of empty cups"
Rest in peace Paul Newman
I remember I used to playing that open world Cars game in the PS2 all the time.
No matter what people think of this movie, it was part of my childhood and I appreciate it much more today.
(At 50:40) look at all that recognition. Rest in peace Paul Newman.
As someone who worked press for two NASCAR races, this movie hits WAY differently after working them. Like dear lord it’s SO ACCURATE
30:17 Brie with the Barnyard reference! Now y'all have to watch that YESTERDAY!
The fact that Sean was not that far off when he said cars 2 would have domestic terrorism is really funny to me
Lightning McQueen catchphrase KA-CHOW! is always his thing. He loves the spotlight
🚘🚘🚘😜😜😜
Fun fact, there was actually a "Trains" movie that showed some of it's concept art recently. It was like subway New York with the Spiderverse aesthetic but it only got as a far as showing the art and never got worked on. It would've probably would've been the best spin off since we all know how Planes is really garbo...
25:10 Always fear an old man in the young man's game
I adore the end of this movie. Lightning's character development is so wholesome.
so fun fact all the other race cars and announcers voice actors are either actual NASCAR drivers or NASCAR commentators, even the rusteeze guys used to host a radioshow called "car talk"
