I followed as closely as i could to do almost exactly what you did. somehow by the end of the run jaheira was seen by someone as i was trying to jump my way across to the brain stem. she died and i had already killed la'zeal so i attempted to spawn in a hierling from withers to be my sudo jaheira. they also died. so i snuck my mindflayered ass up to the stem my own way. scared to death i still used the mage hand/ invis trick as i climbed the brain. invis still worked. made my way to the portal. used levitate to go down to the brain. placed all my bombs/fireworks/a nautiloid barrel and an oil barrel. levitated back up. used fierce perilous stakes on myself. ended my turn and prayed. the brain dropped those orb things put up a shield and back to me. throw the firebomb at the rest of the bombs and Fkn KILLED EM!!!! Random tip most people don’t know but if you look under the cliff where Astarion is - there is a chest that can be search under a rock with 2 speed potions for free
Awesome run! Hopefully the bad luck shows the judges you can recover from even the biggest “that never happened” moments. Personal highlight is the strategist inspiration appearing as Jaheira jumps off the cliff 44:10.
Thank you for doing this video on patch 6. It's honestly super inspiring, this was the video that got me off my ass to finally try some speedruns of the game. I doubt it would have had the same effect if I had needed to downpatch.
Thanks for bringing this run updated. I like training these run to get to know the game better. I have no intention of competing, but rather learning the techniques. Tks!
That’s how I learned to play the RE games as RE2 was my first game but had speed running potential and it’s fun. I’m trying to do the same with BG3 cause I suck at lot
Bro, this is awesome. I have loved this game. I beat it a couple times then told my wife I wanted to get the platinum trophy on PS5 (which included beating it on tactician). So I did it. Then I wanted to beat it on Honour mode. And I did it. …. And now I’m wanting to speed run and solo play it, and I’m learning a lot from what you did here. ….you skipped so much, and you were very meticulous on locations of jumps. Wow. When I died at Mykrul my first HM playthrough at 28 hours, I almost gave up. I can’t believe how easy you made that fight. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you for the guide. I was able to complete a run after about 30 attempts by following your steps. Aside from making silly mistakes, the major challenges were the githyanki versus emperor fight and the use of invisibility potions towards the end. If the githyanki fight extends beyond one turn and they cast hold on Jaheira, it usually ends badly. And at the end for some reason, throwing the potion doesn't always render the target invisible. It seems more reliable to break the potion with the arm next to the character instead of throwing it, although it could just be my luck. For this reason, I opted to stock up on two additional invisibility potions while purchasing bombs, allowing for two attempts with each character at the end. However, this lengthens the run as it requires accumulating more gold prior to the bomb shopping segment.
Thanks so much for the commentary! Everything was super easy to follow. I beat it second try 1h 31m in-game time, although I did do some glitches in the final act (kidnapping gortash + orin dev room) playing as gale origin since I did NOT want to mess up the final fight lol. I needed a doable guide for the achievement and you perfectly delivered :D
I wanted to beat honor mode in one day so I used your video for reference. I’m taking a break at the lower city right now but let me tell you about my two failed attempts. The first attempt was the worst thing ever, I had been searching for speed potions for over an hour, in the end I decided to backtrack to paladins of tyr area and just pick up some hyena ears. All was going well up until the myrkul fight where a bomb exploded in my hand as I wasn’t paying attention to you saying the first batch is glitched. So I started another one (Edit: I also rolled a 1 when calling karniss in this one so very unfortunate) Now in this one I decided to sidetrack a little to get as much exp as possible and get plenty of gold. And for some reason laezel wasn’t at the crossroads so I couldn’t recruit her - didn’t matter, I recruited the rest of the party (although should have just cut gale’s hand because he was painful to deal with + Karlach left so meeh). they came in handy when buying bombs tho, didn’t have to recruit the cleric guy. I decided to go with Astarion to the elder brain. Now when I entered the room where ketheric was, I forgot to separate the party and my tav followed invilisble Astarion and my dumb self decided to use jump to get back where I was AFTER the fight started… I blown up Ketheric and was so excited about it that I saved and then I realised I have no bonus action to drink the haste potion ._. I felt like an absolute moron. Third time’s the charm, everything went smoothly - in the astral prism fight too so I’m hoping for the best for the act 3 ❤ I really enjoy your videos, thanks for guiding us!
Thank you! I've tried (and failed!) honour mode multiple times, but thanks to this guide I now have a shiny gold dice 😁. I had to do the Gauntlet of Shar the long way (with lots of cheese) since I couldn't get my Tav to jump through the small gap in the broken stairs but everything else worked on my PS5. Thanks again, these videos are great.
How did you throw Orin off the cliff on ps5? No matter where I target at that edge of the platform as he shows, on ps5 it says “target too far” or “path interrupted”, it won’t let me find a spot that says “death” where I can actually toss oron off.
Also on ps5 for shars temple, I couldnt do the gap either BUT you only need 1 umbrel gem to use the lift to get down there, and you’re perfectly set up for the jumping trial. So I grabbed just one gem, took the lift down, then used “knock” to open the door (only a bit slower than jumping down the gap but faster than getting all the umbrel gems and safer)
I was about to give up on this myself but it is possible. You just have to swing the camera out over the chasm until the 'too far' message changes to a 'death skull' icon. The throw happens off screen thank to the awful camera angles on the ps5.
@@JTMynhardt the easiest way is to follow the guide and have shadowheart use command drop to make him drop the moon lantern, but for console just go ahead and have shadowheart pick up the lantern (this will cause a fight) and then open her inventory and send the moon lantern to your tav. The scene will start for the lantern with your tav and you can just let shadowheart die. After she dies, they will all leave and you can go rez her. It’s possible to also “throw” the moonlantern, which since you aren’t picking it up doesn’t aggro them, and throw it far away so they leave without it. I found that trickier to pull off before he picks it back up off the ground though, so honestly just let shadowheart take the fall.
Act 3: If Gortash doesn't talk to you the 2nd time, he might just vanish. Facing the throne, go to the door on the right side of the throne wall (it highlights white). Go upstrairs to his normal lair and speak with him there. Chronos, thank you for sharing this amazing speed run with an explanation and your more recent 44m run. Your content in general brought me to your channel, but this allowed me to complete my honor run in, for me, record time. My gold dice thank you!
Thank you, was able to follow this with controller on my PS5 almost completely except for 3 parts: The jump down in the gauntlet of shar, throwing orin off the platform, and the jump you did with jaheira after getting onto the boat in the brainpool. Easily circumvented with; a quick leap of faith trial, an elixer of cloud giant strength, and a bit of jumping around with invisiblity.
Yo, I'm totally stuck on my PS5 on the gauntlet of shar, tried to jump down for an hour but the camera kept going crazy. Can you please post some more tips for how you did the steps you've explained above?
@@UnearnEverythingyou can jump down on console too but instead of using jump I would cast a spell then go into turn based, turn the camera all the way around to the right so you’re looking head on towards the lower level, then use the free storm-sorcerer fly on the left hand side. Jump is technically possible but way harder with the camera imo
@@UnearnEverythingI jumped down to the trial of faith where you can just auto-path walk to the corner of the end platform and boom, got one orb for the elevator.
You absolutely safed me on my plat run. I had no idea how to the netherbrain part after invis got patched. Thabk you so much for a quick nice guide. Everything worked on console for me
What a perfect setup. My goal is to do a single playthrough that gets all trophies except dark urge, tactician and honour mode, and following this speed run with your tutorial, it'll clean up the list nicely! Now to find out what version comes on the disc versions. Could always resort to the default patch.
This run uses the most current patch of the game, which should be the same version that's used on the console versions, if not, I believe everything should work pretty much the same!
@ChronosReturns apologies as it appears I rambled, lol. Understood it is current patch. I might not get to BG3 until June or July depending on their physical versions starting to be shipped. I think they are putting patch 5 or 6 on disc so this will work if they patch something out before I get to it.
@blainelacey8953 thank you for letting me know. I think I like this alternative to the custom mode work around/exploit. That'll allow me to use the golden dice.
Thank you for this! I used your video to do my first attempt. I finished an honor mode playthrough but lost my golden die during a patch update. This let me get my golden die again!
@RyGuy11004 I was having trouble getting it into the basket fast enough too. I found that just picking it up, as if to drag it to the side, hold it. They all run away.
Bro, I lost my honor run on arfurs mansion by traps. Got so pissed of that to compensate, gonna waste a couple of hours (not as much as fucking 60) to do copy this speedrun. Thanks for the tips and ideas!
Can't imagine anything that matters less than what some devs intend. The game is the game, devs did their job and should leave it alone or become the enemy
The line between glitch and acceptable cheese is quite thin, it seems! Jump? Clever! Casting mage hand then entering a cut-scene then switching to a dead companion to "unlock" the characters so you can then use the mage hands to throw potions to make them invisible mid-cut-scene? Also working as intended 😀
Hey, thanks for the guide! Fairly easy to follow along even with console controls. If you're like me and wanted to save durge for a legit playthrough, you can't waltz into bhaal temple via birthright. Adds a couple steps but it's still very easy all things considered: Optional tip 1) recruit Gale, makes life easier later on. Just take small detours for 3 magic items or buy them later. Optional tip 2) rescue volo for pickpocket profit as necessary, takes two conversations and one illithid check if you need it 3) head to shadow lands as normal, if you're on console command-drop the moon lantern with shadowheart, let her die in combat, resurrect her at camp 4) head to waypoints and shar temple as normal 5) buy bombs and be sure to get stacks right so they don't blow up in your hand, i had to figure out a way to blow them up in a backpack because i didn't do it right 6) release nightsong to zombie man as normal, say bye to shart 7) scale Moonrise to rooftop as this video demonstrates; subtle spell misty step out of trouble; defeat ketheric v1 and v2 (This is where my run got a bit more complicated but with some wiki study i figured out a route to coincide back with this video's upon entering bhaal temple) 8) follow the prism intermission setup i.e. Eldritch knight Jaheira empowered by enlarge, throw monks into the astral plane 9) [im a bit hazy on order here but hopefully it doesn't matter] arrive in rivington, leap to 2nd floor of the bunkhouse across from wyrms crossing waypoint, find murder list, interrogate the mum's body to figure out Dolor is the killer. Optional 9a) id talk to gortash to make sure he is an ally prior to dealing with Orin. Honor is for slowpoke heroes, and my halfling Tav wants to go home 10) head to lower city, leap to roof of elfsong tavern, go down the hatch to second floor, chat with investigator to trigger murder quest. {I did this before finding Dolor's secret room behind the wardrobe, but maybe it doesnt matter, the order} 11) invisibly pickpocket the poem and the bag o' hands from Dolor as he plans his wine poison; escape detection and head back to basilisk gate 12) break into tombstone shop, infiltrate murder tribunal, lie about being an edgelord, kill an innocent Hollyphant for the greater good and to maintain your double agency. Severok bequethes you the amulet of bhaal. 13) head to sewers via manhole by Baldur's gate waypoint; open first door after orin reveals herself, sneak past ambush, leap to bhaal temple door and open it. 14) enlarge 20 strength jaheira, turn invisible, throw orin to her doom, follow her temporarily until Withers can ctrl+z 15) seal deal with pretty boy 16) head to nether brain, try and fail to save Orpheus from illithidhood (i tried to tell them i had a wizard bomb, i tried to convince laezel vlaakkith wanted her bones, to no avail. If no emperor, someone becomes a squid i guess) 15) leap invisibly to brainstem, and have gale take one for the team GG! I play quite slow so this took me two nights and 12ish hours of game time, more with my planning. But definitely a nice quick way to achievement compared to a legit painstaking honor run.
Ayy! This guide is awesome. I had some mishaps but I managed to get by and get the achievement. I must have selected the wrong dialogue with Gortash so I had to blow him up using Jahera. I had to steal more fireworks for the final boss. Jahera got spotted by an imp and taken out immediately, so I had to solo the Brain. It worked out in the end!
Chronos: Casually playing threw one of the best videogames of all time on the hardest difficulty while explaining all the little secrets, faster than I left the tutorial. Me:
Hi all, I manage to do it thanks to this tuto, Small tips if you want to try it, IF mind flayer doesn’t drop you the speed potion (it’s random) you can go to the small cave (below the place where you meet astarion) move a rock and you will find garantied 2 speed potions Hope it helps thank you
That explosives bundle that blows up a god... yeah, that puts a smile on my face. And if you think about it, its kinda realistic. No one said its impossible to gather a bunch of high yield explosives in a bag and then lunch that package into someones face.
@chronos if you accidentally get into the dialogue with Raph in front of the gauntlet of shar entrance you can attack him to immediately end the dialogue and he'll just disappears. No ramifications for it. It'll save maybe half a second if you accidentally get into the dialogue.
Entering act 2 like: "Alright Lae'zel, you go get chastised by the elderly elf lady, I'm gonna jump at the devil, and shadow heart, you stay here and look pretty"
I kind of wish they included a band of powerful warriors somewhere that just straight up jumped into your party or patrolled like that. This was cool to watch.
Me: 322hrs into the end of act 2 🤦♂️ Still love this game. So many individual experiences possible. It's going to hold up for well over a decade like the others. Thank you Larian! I wish you would do 4 as you're equipped. It must've been a lot of stress to say no.
Some things any people trying to copy this run should watch out for: - You can triple dash before you even enter Turn Based Mode. This immediately gives you the maximum (4 * base) movement speed that you can achieve with dash actions. This could be useful for making riskier sections less risky (at least 9 more meters of movement vs. dash -> TBM -> dash, and you keep your actions). - I regularly found opportunities to use TBM to pause what I was doing so that I could check this video. It seems that the Enhance Leap and Feather Fall spells consume spell slots if they are used in TBM, so anyone who wishes to refresh those buffs should remember to do so before entering TBM. - I accidentally tried to walk to the Nautiloid console during my 1st attempt. Don't do that. Those enemies will absolutely one shot a 5 HP Tav if they don't reach the console within their 1st turn; the character needs to jump to the console immediately after they've looted the 2nd Mind Flayer. - I did not get the speed potions I needed during one of my early attempts. I also failed the Nature check on the rock that supposedly covers a chest with 2 guaranteed speed potions (someone else in these comments described that such a chest is near Astarion - maybe I actually looked in the wrong place, I don't know). Speed potions are...a problem. - Jumping past the nearby enemies to reach the end of Act I was riskier than it looked, even with the Fog Cloud present. There's probably a safer method. - Sending Lae'zel to Last Light Inn with 1 click seems to be as precise as it looks. I had her go somewhere else entirely, and when I tried to carefully extract her so that she wouldn't enter combat with any unexpected enemies, she wandered off into an ambush anyway, because the pathfinding in this game is awful. In fact, I had to revert my save multiple times throughout the run because my characters would try to walk when I was just trying to click a portrait, and they would always choose the most dangerous routes. I had my character literally jump off the map while I was in the middle of clicking elsewhere entirely AND spamming my Escape key to cancel the jump action (which doesn't seem to actually work, even though Escape is the most intuitive key for canceling actions). - I don't think it was mentioned in the video until an inconvenient, later moment (if it was at all), but...players need to be hiding BEFORE they Misty Step out of the pods with Subtle Spell. This is also why we need to aim for the spot that isn't highlighted red (unlike the surrounding areas, which are within enemy vision cones). Misty Step doesn't end hiding, but it DOES end invisibility... - I did not actually have enough bombs for Myrkul even after refreshing the shop as many times as it was refreshed in this video. I had to use one of those "glitched" bombs by having another character (the one that helped Aylin) place it near Myrkul. I was able to have that character disengage and move away from the explosion within the same turn, though their survival may not have mattered. A better solution would have involved stealing gold from Withers (just in case), going through the class change menu, and repeating the process of refreshing the shop so that I could buy bombs until I definitely had enough before leaving Last Light Inn. - When I tried to click on the portal during the Gith ambush, my character walked behind it instead, which consumed the rest of her movement speed. It seems that the safe way to escape the ambush is to jump so that your character lands a bit further from the portal, because the place you have to click to interact with it is actually in front of it. (Why??) - My chance to successfully throw Orin was much lower (25% vs. 36% in the video, IIRC). I got lucky and succeeded anyway, but oof. - Speaking of Orin, I had to use Turn Based Mode so that I could buy time to figure out how to throw her. I had to find a completely different place to put my cursor before the game indicated that throwing her would be fatal, and I still have no idea how to position my character on the altar like that (since clicking the altar just has the character try to interact with it). The video could have been much more clear about that part. - Gortash did not talk to me again after his ceremony. I had to actually go to his office to talk to him and progress further, and there was no waypoint. I'd never been there before, so I had to find it on my own. It wasn't too complicated: right side of the room, at the back (from the door we came from, facing toward the throne), take the staircase, move as though you were within the room below and moving to leave through the door you entered from, enter the door you pass on your way (as though you were heading toward the throne again). - It's not clear which enemies can see invisible characters, and the mess of buildings at the last location before climbing to the final fight formed visuals that were too hard for me to parse. I got lost immediately and wandered into an enemy that can see invisible characters. It looked like an imp. I realized later that I had moved to the left too early, well before the Nautiloid Tanks. Oops? - Having the mage hands throw the invisibility potions means they can miss, which is the last thing you want at the very end of an Honor Mode run. I had them attack the potions instead. The game insists that attacking them can't fail. My experiences have, so far, agreed. Also, the dialogue in this video is way too hard to track. I regularly struggled while trying to determine which dialogue options to choose (when they mattered). A simple cheat sheet overlay would have been nice ("1-2-2" for the final Gortash dialogue after his ceremony, "Spam 1" where applicable, etc.).
IT WORKS! I DID IT TODAY. But i changed some things. I took more invisibility potions, some more bombs... etc. I did it in 5´40 h, chilling. I think that the worst part is Katheric fight, bcs if you dont have the ring equipped, you will fail. I speak spanish and my english is regular but if you have some specific question i can answer... More or less :P
I just completed the run and I cant preface this enough, some of this was a pain in the arse, that mage hand double invis throw was a whole thing. Also Jaheira failed the Orin throw several times. I really enjoyed learning more about the game doing this however.
That skip for the elevator in the Temple of Shar to the Shadowfel avoided the glitch I ran into. Going down the elevator Karlach and Gale stayed on the elevator, while my main character and Shadowheart stayed in place and fell down the chasm when the elevator moved out from under neath them. Honour run lost.
@@doctertroncat3147 I tried. Since the character were just downed and wouldn't fully die, the only thing I could try was a short rest, revived them only to instantly take damage again to down them.
I completed my no boss/content skips honor mode run in 43h 37m, and that was pretty quick for no skips. Then along come the speedrunners finishing in less than an hour lol
Subscribed & Twitch followed in the first minute. There's good gameplay, and then there's good people. I could tell early on you bring both to the table, and I think that's neat. Love your abundantly clear passion and, as others have noted, your very relaxing and coherent explanations throughout.
Wish I could make that jump to skip the Gauntlet of Shar, but without a cursor on the XBox, just can't get the camera angle to allow the jump. Sad times.
What you can do instead, is complete just 1 of the trials (soft step is safest or you’re set up well for jump trial) because the platform that takes you down to that same area only needs 1 umbrel gem. So grab just 1, jump to that platform, take it down then use “knock” to open the door. A bit slower but not too bad since that Jump is almost impossible on console

"that time I destroyed the elder brain using some fireworks bought by selling ketheric's armor"
Thank you Chronos so much, for using actual version and sharing your knowledge
Amazing experience watching this and good explanation. Thank you.. i love this game and seeing this approach is really nice
So I started another one (Edit: I also rolled a 1 when calling karniss in this one so very unfortunate)
Now in this one I decided to sidetrack a little to get as much exp as possible and get plenty of gold.
Pretty awesome explanation and very well played, I really hope I see you and this run at the event!
How did you do the moon lantern bit at start of act 2?
A big thank you chronos, yet another person who would never have obtained their golden dice without you. I improvised the ending thanks to this video
@@UnearnEverythingI jumped down to the trial of faith where you can just auto-path walk to the corner of the end platform and boom, got one orb for the elevator.
congrats on the run!! also thank you for the explanation on the invis last encounter, i never got why my invisibility kept breaking hahaha
@damcrac I just finished it and didn't get sins of the father or embrace your urge trophy btw. You'll likely have to do anither durge run
@blainelacey8953 thank you for letting me know. I think I like this alternative to the custom mode work around/exploit. That'll allow me to use the golden dice.
Did they patch throwing off the githyanki off the map I can’t seem to do it on ps5
you can finish bg3 on honor mode and ask steam a refund, you are a legend man!
found this video utterly fascinating and appreciated the way you narrated what was happening
My 1st speed run ive witnessed in bg3. Its great to see the game played this way as well as taking 300 hrs. Cant wait to see more optimal runs
Nice. Learned the old route through your vid’s and was wondering how a route on current patch would go. Good stuff!
It's like seeing my life flash before my eyes 😂😂
Thank you for this! I used your video to do my first attempt. I finished an honor mode playthrough but lost my golden die during a patch update. This let me get my golden die again!
Beat this run on honor mode today you are AMAZING, thank you for the great tips and amazing run 🎉
After 4 or 5 tries I was able to complete Honour Mode thanks to this video. Appreciate your work on it!
How did you do the moonlantern bit?
@@JTMynhardtdid you figure it out? Not sure how to do it on console
@RyGuy11004 I was having trouble getting it into the basket fast enough too. I found that just picking it up, as if to drag it to the side, hold it. They all run away.
@@JTMynhardt
Just grab it and go straight to camp.
Thanks to following your run my brother and I were able to beat honour mode last night. Thanks!
Bro, I lost my honor run on arfurs mansion by traps. Got so pissed of that to compensate, gonna waste a couple of hours (not as much as fucking 60) to do copy this speedrun. Thanks for the tips and ideas!
This speedrun is a welcome sight after seeing those obnoxious any% speedruns. Really amazing stuff here
I love the oversight of allowing people to drop stacks of bombs and throw them. Thats a true “not intended by the dev problem.
Good luck with your submission! This run is impressive as always.
saw you do a halo speedrun and then this popped up randomly. Glad it did, I love seeing speedruns with great commentary
Hey, thanks for the guide! Fairly easy to follow along even with console controls.
If you're like me and wanted to save durge for a legit playthrough, you can't waltz into bhaal temple via birthright. Adds a couple steps but it's still very easy all things considered:
Optional tip 1) recruit Gale, makes life easier later on. Just take small detours for 3 magic items or buy them later.
Optional tip 2) rescue volo for pickpocket profit as necessary, takes two conversations and one illithid check if you need it
3) head to shadow lands as normal, if you're on console command-drop the moon lantern with shadowheart, let her die in combat, resurrect her at camp
4) head to waypoints and shar temple as normal
5) buy bombs and be sure to get stacks right so they don't blow up in your hand, i had to figure out a way to blow them up in a backpack because i didn't do it right
6) release nightsong to zombie man as normal, say bye to shart
7) scale Moonrise to rooftop as this video demonstrates; subtle spell misty step out of trouble; defeat ketheric v1 and v2
(This is where my run got a bit more complicated but with some wiki study i figured out a route to coincide back with this video's upon entering bhaal temple)
8) follow the prism intermission setup i.e. Eldritch knight Jaheira empowered by enlarge, throw monks into the astral plane
9) [im a bit hazy on order here but hopefully it doesn't matter] arrive in rivington, leap to 2nd floor of the bunkhouse across from wyrms crossing waypoint, find murder list, interrogate the mum's body to figure out Dolor is the killer.
Optional 9a) id talk to gortash to make sure he is an ally prior to dealing with Orin. Honor is for slowpoke heroes, and my halfling Tav wants to go home
10) head to lower city, leap to roof of elfsong tavern, go down the hatch to second floor, chat with investigator to trigger murder quest. {I did this before finding Dolor's secret room behind the wardrobe, but maybe it doesnt matter, the order}
11) invisibly pickpocket the poem and the bag o' hands from Dolor as he plans his wine poison; escape detection and head back to basilisk gate
12) break into tombstone shop, infiltrate murder tribunal, lie about being an edgelord, kill an innocent Hollyphant for the greater good and to maintain your double agency. Severok bequethes you the amulet of bhaal.
13) head to sewers via manhole by Baldur's gate waypoint; open first door after orin reveals herself, sneak past ambush, leap to bhaal temple door and open it.
14) enlarge 20 strength jaheira, turn invisible, throw orin to her doom, follow her temporarily until Withers can ctrl+z
15) seal deal with pretty boy
16) head to nether brain, try and fail to save Orpheus from illithidhood (i tried to tell them i had a wizard bomb, i tried to convince laezel vlaakkith wanted her bones, to no avail. If no emperor, someone becomes a squid i guess)
15) leap invisibly to brainstem, and have gale take one for the team
GG! I play quite slow so this took me two nights and 12ish hours of game time, more with my planning. But definitely a nice quick way to achievement compared to a legit painstaking honor run.
Thank you, I finally have my golden dice
I love when someone speedruns a game in incredible time that i will routinely put 200 hours into each playthrough
Awesome! Now I’ll want to sidecar this run. Thanks for sharing and elaborating!
Oh good, I got stuck in the glitch run though shar door, this is great, thank you !
You ran this faster than I've done some fights. Wild.
Always a blast to enjoy a pro speed run 🎉
Great Video. Awesome Commantary. Wish you the best of luck.
Me:
Very nice Speedrun, thx for the explanations!
Thank you for this amazing guide
Greetings from Poland😉
Holy moly did that myrkul fight make me realize that my run for honour mode was done waaaaaaay wrong... lol
Hi all, I manage to do it thanks to this tuto,
Small tips if you want to try it,
IF mind flayer doesn’t drop you the speed potion (it’s random) you can go to the small cave (below the place where you meet astarion) move a rock and you will find garantied 2 speed potions
Hope it helps thank you
Very interesting run, thanks for sharing your work !
getting inspired "strategist" for jahira jumping off the edge sent me 💀
Great Speedrun, will be amazing to see you on sgdq this year
Impressive run, great job!!!
That explosives bundle that blows up a god... yeah, that puts a smile on my face. And if you think about it, its kinda realistic. No one said its impossible to gather a bunch of high yield explosives in a bag and then lunch that package into someones face.
Great explanations and tech used, thanks for posting this!
I would love to see this at GDQ. You go man!
Dude legit insane, on my first playthrough it took me about 60hrs to beat the game and then I see this guy who's through act 1 in 6 minutes...
Dude I’ve had 4 playthroughs and just found out about that southern mountain pass because of this wow
The Emperor: I know all of your weaknesses
Durge: Dude, we just met like 45 minutes ago.
Insane run. Thanks for explaining everything you are doing. Other videos running Honor Mode don't explain anything
I could imagine Myrkul saltiness when his champion fell to two calculated bomb drops
@chronos if you accidentally get into the dialogue with Raph in front of the gauntlet of shar entrance you can attack him to immediately end the dialogue and he'll just disappears. No ramifications for it. It'll save maybe half a second if you accidentally get into the dialogue.
That's pretty neat and good to know! Definitely will keep this in mind in the future if I ever fail sneaking past by accident.
Everyone has left the party.
Sacrifices were made.
Entering act 2 like:
"Alright Lae'zel, you go get chastised by the elderly elf lady, I'm gonna jump at the devil, and shadow heart, you stay here and look pretty"
Stock up while you can. I only hope I've brought enough to see us through.
I kind of wish they included a band of powerful warriors somewhere that just straight up jumped into your party or patrolled like that. This was cool to watch.
Me: 322hrs into the end of act 2 🤦♂️
Still love this game. So many individual experiences possible. It's going to hold up for well over a decade like the others.
Thank you Larian! I wish you would do 4 as you're equipped. It must've been a lot of stress to say no.
Some things any people trying to copy this run should watch out for:
- You can triple dash before you even enter Turn Based Mode.
(Why??)
- My chance to successfully throw Orin was much lower (25% vs.
A simple cheat sheet overlay would have been nice ("1-2-2" for the final Gortash dialogue after his ceremony, "Spam 1" where applicable, etc.).
thank you for also explaining what you're doing!
Happy this has a speedrun that isn't just "warp to the final boss lol"
Thanks so much for this video man. Used this to get my last achievement I needed on Xbox for Honour Mode 😁😁👍👍
How did you do the moonlantern bit?
AND CHRONOS YOURE THE BEST I learned a lot!!!! Thanks for your work and the amazing video
I just completed the run and I cant preface this enough, some of this was a pain in the arse, that mage hand double invis throw was a whole thing. Also Jaheira failed the Orin throw several times. I really enjoyed learning more about the game doing this however.
if you're alright by Jaheira, you're alright by me. take care.
I've learned if a character ever gets stuck anywhere to try and fast travel with that character to any of your waypoints u unlocked
Then along come the speedrunners finishing in less than an hour lol
very cool! going to try it myself!
God damn it, I died cos I didn’t know the Gortash dialogue options🤬🤬
Well to summarise guys, my mage hand missed throwing the invis potion…… so yeah
Man finishes the game in less time than most people spend in the character creator
Congrats on making the cut ! =D
holy jesus christ, man is a king among peasants
Thanks you for your guide Chronos... Now i will have to redo my RUn to be under 2h ^^
Thanx for the content! I’m really bored of the killing shadowheart stuff speedrun
A bit slower but not too bad since that Jump is almost impossible on console
really cool stuff man, good work
That head looks like it knew every move needed to be executed perfectly for bg3 honor mode while still in the womb
