Just wanted to thank you for all the content you been posting. I lost my first fight in june last year, but won my second fight two days ago!! I prefer to be outboxer, but I had been training my infighting. Landed some nice body shots. Felt really good to win after training harder after my first loss. I was so nervous.
Hey bro, good to hear from you! There’s no shame at all in losing. You learn a lot more in your losses than in your wins, and it especially takes a ton of character to bounce back up after a loss in your first fight. Props to you for coming back stronger from it. And embrace that nervousness. The opponent is just as nervous as you if he’s a human being. To me I learned to use nervousness as a strength to remain focused, not mess anything up, and not hold anything back.
@@coachpillowfists yeah, like the fight video you used I feel the shoulder bump is stunning the opponent, then we have the time for a nice rear hand punch. It cant just open space
Great video! I just subscribed after this! One question though. I noticed the other guy in the video is a southpaw. How do you apply the chicken wing on the inside dealing with another orthodox fighter or southpaw vs another southpaw?
I appreciate the sub! I actually think it’s a bit easier against orthodox fighters. Chicken wing against their rear hand guard. If you watch Leigh Wood vs Can Xu, you can see this being utilized by Leigh Wood excellently. Just watch the highlights by DAZN.
If you're using it correctly then it should actually hinder their overhand. It is also a matter of adjusting your elbow/arm/hand according to how they're positioned and whatever their next move will be.
It's actually not allowed in either amateur or professional to push their body or manipulate their guard/head. You won't get away with it nearly as much in the amateurs because the refs are a lot more strict. But in the pros, refs are far more likely to allow it. Also, if you do it, you have to do it very subtly and quickly then let go, meaning don't hold onto their head or guard for too long. And when you do any type of pushing tactics, don't push too aggressively. Just a slight nudge to get your shots off usually does the trick.
@@bodyboardingchronicles602 Kind of like a sample heavy bag routine? I do plan on doing a video for that in the near future. Other than that, I do have this video on tips for heavy bag training: ua-cam.com/video/Ge4GFGhKiJc/v-deo.html. Also, my video coming out next week will help you out as well so stay tuned! 👌🏽
@@coachpillowfists I am not sparring those days and I have to wait little bit , on striking sparring. I have overbite and I am putting braces, so yes I have to wait until I remove the braces. Just working on my fitness and athleticism now. I did a grappling round and I give my self not bad performance.
Floyd, Errol and Andre ward are soooo good on controlling the head 👌
Excellent tips btw

Not a big fan of the shoulder bump, its telling your oponent youre going to punch him, but its always good to know, you can create distance
I get what you’re saying but if executed and timed correctly, it can still catch your opponent off guard as with any technique.

Isnt it dangerous to get overhand shot by opponent while doin elbow or hand barricade?
If you're using it correctly then it should actually hinder their overhand. It is also a matter of adjusting your elbow/arm/hand according to how they're positioned and whatever their next move will be.

Everything is great but SLOW ALL your demonstrations DOWN. TEACH don't just SHOW. Good coach but way too fast.
