    Severely underrated channel. Clear instructions that are to the point, plus good demonstrations and a re-cap at the end. I pick up new things from 10 minutes of your video that'd take other people ages to explain. Please don't switch up this way of teaching, it's perfect. Great work man!

    a really superior video.
    if you ever re-shoot it, include more footage that goes head-to-foot so we can see your feet better in these sequences (they are worth it - great coaching) really good video just the same. I'll set up the class to practice some of these soon.

    Great video! I’m an old guy who has taught martial arts for over 25 years. I’m converting to boxing because I can no longer kick due to injury. I’ve always been one of those guys who is very aggressive and just bangs on the center line pretty much exclusively. I’ve gotten to the point where I need to take less punishment, so your videos are very useful. As someone with almost three decades of teaching experience, let me say your instruction is top notch. I’d like to see a video on some specific combinations you like to use after taking these angles, if possible. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

    Wow. I already know about a few of these. But for the beginners and intermediate level boxers out there, this is boxing gold. Too many times, coaches will tell their boxers to "angle off" or "use angles" but they never really tell their boxers HOW to do it the proper way. As a result, many boxers get hit when doing naked angles and decide not to use angles anymore. This video tells you how to actually be at those angles. Excellent. Subscribed!

    I wanna thank from the bottom of my heart for this in-depth clear video. I have been a martial artist my whole life (I'm now 38) and I have reached a whole by rules of engagement and that is changing angles. I've been looking for instruction videos and like you said that's really shitty on UA-cam. For a long time I've been changing angles by not pairing offensive or/and defensive moves and that gave me bad results because I'm a heavy weight (98kg) and I'm always fighting/sparring against lower weights who can keep up with me with easy because I also have heavy/plotting feet. So thanks for this amazing video! Could perhaps show some drills for this. 🙏

    💡What you covered regarding the costs of fighting on the line brings to mind the wisdom of Sun Tzu:
    📜"Anyone can go to battle, but the height of wisdom is to win without a battle. War is costly, even if one wins, they lose. War costs lives, energy, money, and time. The goal should not be to win battles, but to prevent them whenever possible."

    do successful angles come from opponents stuck in position?
    for defense when the opponent throws that’s when we take our angle because they are committed to an option and cannot immediately move.
    For offense, when we throw, we hope to stun or have our opponent hunker down to be able to take a better angle.
    i wanna make sure i understand it right, i haven’t been able to pull off successful angles too frequently in sparring”

    • @bambaraboxing
      @bambaraboxing  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes you are correct. You either take a dominant position by acting as the matador when they commit, or convincing them to stay planted while you move 👍

      To the best of your ability, you should be keeping your weight evenly on both feet when boxing. Obviously this isn't possible all the time, but getting lower and using both legs will create a better outcome.
