How do you become a superior man? What does that even mean? Can you really live at your edge and discover what your were born to do?
This week's book review is on The Way of The Superior Man.
The Way of The Superior Man is a classic book by David Deida. This book summary and book review of The Way of The Superior Man will go over the BEST 10 IDEAS from David Deida's book. You might also consider getting the full book or audiobook for this - it’s killer!
Here are the best 10 ideas from “The Way of The Superior Man” by David Deida
    ★★★ BIG 10 IDEAS ★★★
    1. POLARITY
    Polarity - Masculine and Feminine - Night / day. - Black + white / color - Up / down - hot / cold - east / west - moon / sun
This is what creates ATTRACTION - magnets.
    2. Stop Hoping For Completion
If you’re not doing it right now - probably won’t ever do it.
Success fantasies - can be the REASON you hurt and the reason you don't take action.
    3. Live At Your (REAL) Edge (don’t fake it)
32,850 - number of days from birth to 90 y.o.
Lean just beyond edge. Small gains. Gym - increase slowly.
Safety path (educate 20 / work 40 / retire 20) vs. Danger path (risk it all)
    4. Never Change Your Mind to Please Your Woman
    Or anyone for that matter
Safety mechanism - b/c if your idea fails = ALL on you. If change mind = safety of blaming someone else. BUT if it succeeds = you DON’T feel confident (not your idea). Add stock to your own decision making skills, not others.
    5. Discover Your Purpose Today
Know Thyself - True North - You and Only You Can Do!
    Discover your STRENGTHS today!
Martin Seligman “Know your strengths, use them often”
    Authentichappiness.com - strengths finder (24 sig. strengths)

Read the book. Two of the things that I would include in the list to share is Chaoter 5: Always hold to your deepest realization and Chapter 7: Your purpose must come before your relationship.

As a woman I read this book before deciding if I wanted my man to read the book. It is a tremendous resource. I adore what it stands for and how it has helped me understand men and also how to ask for what I want as well. I recommend it to all my friends and know when my kids are old enough will want them to read it. It may be an older book, but I think every point made is still valid. I think if more people read it we would be able to find the balance in men and women relationships and how to embrace and accept each other. I am absolutely a strong, independent and alpha type personality and require my man to also be a force, but I also want to make sure that we both feel good at the end of the day and we are also able to embrace each other in a way that really feels good for both of us. EVERYONE should read this book. It answers so many questions.

    1) The best advice this book offers (if I had to pick only one) is the point on polarity and the differences between masculine and feminine energies and how they work together an assist each other for growth
    2) The concept I would've also included in here is the point on you always knowing your direction you want to head, and how you will get there even for the smallest most mundane decisions.
    Great vid overall. Brilliant book

This is a good assessment of the book. I've been reading this book for 10 years on an almost daily basis. The book is a little more spiritual than what is being presented. The book teaches you how to deal with your emotions/feelings negative and positive. I love this book and the audio book.

I am a woman with 3 adult sons, came across this book mentioned on FB. Looked for reviews...Amazon had some very negative reviews, so I'm glad I found your summary of the book. It gave me a much clearer idea of what the books is about. Some of the negatives were that the book is too "spiritual" but your thoughts were very rational and understandable...which makes me more interested in the book. Thank you.

Im probably going to show through this comment the truth of the 8. point :) However I found the most important message in the book to be that we as men have to put our missions before any relationship in our lives, including the one to our spouse/girlfriend, and that in fact women are subconsciously turned off by men who put their woman first. Deep down they want to feel that their man is willing to sacrifice the relationship for his mission! This was very powerful to me and really changed the way look at my priorities and life. I just wondered why you left that out? thanks!

    • @trelee6200
      @trelee6200 5 років тому +7

That's so true, but it's more than just your mission in life! It's the belief's we that we defend and stand up for and at anytime be will to sacrifice who you're for who you will become!

I am a woman and Im not speaking for all women on the planet and will probably get a lot of hate for even commenting but I a have to say that it is true for me that I am turned off if a man is putting me first instead of his "hussle" or his work. And some women may say that when in a muture loving relationship we actually or subconsciously want to submit to him, not the other way around. It's hard to say that because some men can't handle, can't process or dont know what to do with that information because they misunderstand it and look at it as Control and that is Not the case. Also it is true in this video that when my man praises me I'm at my best! Even small things like finishing his entire plate and telling me how good dinner was! *Tingles. Makes me feel like I'm a chef! 😋

Clark - I have been enjoying your videos over the past few months - you amaze me with your maturity and creative energy. I have started journaling recently and read the Outliers and Blink audiobooks at your recommendation, and have Steal like an Artist on hold at my local library along Think and Grow Rich (a book I read 40 years ago) - I retired 1 1/2 years ago and it has been difficult, so I feel like I am in the process of re-defining myself and your videos have help and given me some ideas. I found this Channel bc Nipsey was gifted The Mind of a Superior Man by his wife Lauren London and highly recommended it. I agree as a mostly feminine I find myself in need of a masculine man.
I'm willing to submit if I can trust the man word and observe his hard, honest work. If he is communicative, compassionate and self disciplined I am usually more attracted and soften up more when I realize he adores me and is willing to engage me. I don't mind helping him build and grow. I do feel he should put integrity first and I need him to be firm on his thoughts. Personally, I tend to think the same way about life. Such as How do I live my Best Life in 30,000+ days and I choose to not use excuses, not indulge in nonsense and to learn as much as I can in order to adapt to constant change and to help the World.

Listening to 'our problem' is better goes much longer way than just constantly telling us that we look pretty!!!! Again really love this very helpful the book as well as the way you presented it!

    hey man,
I love this book and at only 20yrs have already made the experience that so much of this can really impact your relationship big time.
What's crayz is that if I don't read any of it for only a couple months, I fall back into those "normal" patterns of thinking and suddenly get into way more arguments with my gf and experience more jealousy e.g.. I guess you really have to read this work a lot, if you really want those things to stick.

  • @mscir

READ THIS BOOK, it is well worth the time you will spend, also your local library probably has it. I really liked the book (since he mentioned it I like Dale Carnegies' how to win friends and his public speaking books too). I'm going to read this book again when I get my next gf. My favorite idea is that we need to find our true purpose and stay true to it, and that our relationship with our woman comes 2nd to that. It's a huge point, that we should always stay true to ourselves, and that this will help us remain centered and stay strong no matter what she is going through, so she can relax into her femininity because she knows she can trust us no matter what she says or how upset she may be. Also praising her a lot, and praising the things we WANT to see in her more is a REALLY good idea! Really good book!

Men grow through challenge and women grow through praise! Very interesting point. Maybe cuz we already criticize ourselves a lot and if we hear criticism from others that affirm our own criticism it will just bring us to an even more negative place as opposed to bringing out our competitive side.

I discovered this book when it was first released (around 2005-06) and still consider it one of the top 20 best books of its genre for men and the women who may desire to understand us as we evolve to understand ourselves and purposes in life. Many eyebrow raising incites and agreeable head nods. Make it a "must-read" before you enter another relationship or empower yourself for the one you may be in now! Caveat: Some of the readers will have a difficult time swallowing the fact that men and women both have "masculine and feminine" traits. But of course, this would also support the view that God is not just a man...Amen!

I've read this book about 6 times over the past 20 years (and read many smaller portions of it countless times) and I have to correct you; this book IS about being a superior man and that WILL mean being superior to other men. We do not need to apologise about it; if you are trying to better then you will end up being superior to those men who are not trying to be better. There is nothing wrong with trying to be your best self and ending up better than other people.

its okay to listen to others if it about encouragement but if it will make you discouraged..then we need to listen to our own self.❣️🙏

No, man. Thank you. Your insight really helps keep me afloat when it feels like everyone and everything around me is sinking. I've become such a better person because of you.
