In 2001 I started buying self help books. Problem was as a married man living in the government projects with his family we didn’t have extra money. My wife said, “ these books don’t work.” I agree. If you don’t apply the principles in the book your life will not change. 3 years later we closed on our house and it was located in the community that my wife always dreamed of living when she was a child. Too many more examples to list here. Practice the principles and succeed!

I don't know; I think the book is just low-key, so his writing style I didn't fancy it because I couldn't feel myself buying his words. However, for me, it's just a book with chatty stories. He tries to force you in any way to stimulate you in the short term. and to be utterly honest, it's my first wealth book reading. Before that, my whole reading journey was about self-development, the law of attraction, faith, desire, etc., and it changed my life, mind, discipline, and behaviour-the way I act and think, my awareness, and for that, that was the real wealth I was missing. But that doesn't mean I don't recommend the book to anyone, because everyone has a different perspective. Nontheless, I would like to share my life-changing books:
    - The magic of thinking big by David.J.Shwartz
    - Everything is fucked up by Mark Manson
    - Ask and its given the teachings of Abraham " Esther and Jeery hicks "
    - The subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson " my favorite book "
    - You are a badass by Jen Sincero
    - You can heal your life by Louse Hay " I didnt enjoy it that much but it was helpful hand "
these are my all time favorite books

the funniest and the most impressive thing is that you can think about two goals, that don't look very compatible, and your mind will try to find out, how to do them both. You just upload the result in your brain and Boom! your mind starts to work on a result even without your efforts. It's fascinating to watch this process.

Think and Grow Rich is one of my favorite books. It was purchased for me as a gift in 2004 and I have been reading it ever since. Bob Proctor said it best in my opinion, he said when you read a book for a second time you don’t necessarily find things in the book that you didn’t find before, but instead you find things in your self that weren’t there before. That’s why I keep reading it, and I like it.
To the person that left the negative comment that got everyone going, good luck to you and I hope you succeed in everything you do. It’s easy to be positive and it’s easy to be negative. The voice is yours. Its also easy to be rich, and it’s even easier to be poor. All comes down to choices. Jim Rohn talks about this in one of his talks. Good stuff.
Good video by the way, I just came across it looking at Robert Kiyosaki’s classics and I enjoyed. I’ll def subscribe.

    • @jayangli

Brian. That’s interesting what you said bout reading it second time. I dunno, I think we just miss or forget some of the book. I think his books can help a lot but Think is no way my favourite book of his. I believe the most important point in Think is probably persistence. All of Hill’s businesses failed. But he was persistence in his writing.

Thank you for the video Clark! They were all great points. The two that stuck out for me strongly was about persistence and "you are the average of the people you hang around with." Very true. Recently I chose to cut out everybody from my life and it was the hardest thing along with persistence, so I'd say it's REALLY important to challenge these things because they are key points that holds us back. Most people and I was one of them who would rather have my buddies than be alone. Things have changed, I realized that I was looking at my dreams and goals everyday knocking my conscious and my reality. My reality was that none of my friends, relatives, etc wanted to follow their dreams, they'd talk bad about how and when you get there. Some or most didn't have any dreams. All complainers and not seeing the issue of self responsibility. That poor mentality thing that we were all taught. I've been there, all my life. I realized with my desire and help of these great thinkers that my biggest failure were the things I didn't want to challenge. So I'd say to anyone. If you have dreams, look around your influencers. I like to say that we are all influencers. So which influences do you want? Cause if have dreams but also want to hold tight to your circle that isn't Upping you to where you are going, then in most cases you won't get there. If you are climbing a beautiful mountain, you gotta leave the weights behind. I'd say "yeah it's challenging, people might not think or say nice things about you but if you hold to your weights you will never experience the rewards of success. When I mean to cut everybody out, I also mean mom, dad, cousins, everybody who might be weighing you down. Time will pass and you will age along with your circle and the view is not going to get any better. Pick one, but whatever you pick be responsible to admit "I chose this" and don't complain later.

I believe that the being rich part does not only mean money ... not all of us need money! Rich can be a wonderful fulfilled happy life, doing the things you love. I think for everyone it's different. And I truly believe that 'burning your bridges' can be an amazing resource (scary but amazing), whether it's leaving a job, a relationship a country or anything else. Thanks for this video Clark, it's been probably about 25 years since I've read the book. I still have a few copies and I'm pretty sure I have one I found that's super old ... now I have to go find it. Now I want to read it again ;) Also, I'm sending a link of this to my 28 year old son .. I hope this motivates him to read it.

I'm curious, Sunshine. What do you mean, not all of us need money. It seems that indeed, all of us do need money! I would like to experience a life where I do not need money, but thus far living in the 21st Century in the west, I find that I do. I am not being fractious, I am truly curious about how you live without money.

What's cool is that it isn't just money. He explains that the book is about yielding from life anything you want from it. So even if you don't want millions or billions of dollars, the book is still great. More about philosophy than anything else. The book has completely changed my outlook on life. Strongly recommend it for everybody.

Funny Story: Back in the early 2000s I was travelling with Tony Robbins and we found ourselves in Morocco,
The organizers set up a lam session with pillows and incense and all that jazz. One could NOT avoid conjuring the word “Guru” (Even down to the extra pillow Tony got, as if being almost 7’ tall wasn't enough… lol
Anyhow, everyone was going on and on about “This book saved my life” Or That book was my turning point” (Which to be fair, they were for me as well)
I’m a kind of snarky guy with a weird sense of humor, so I said this as a playful jab…
“You’re Right Tony, Awaken The Giant Within WAS The Best Book Ever Written, When Napoleon Hill Wrote In 1937”
A good laugh was had by all.. :-)

I gotta focus on individualized treatment on HSP EMPATH. I am not a young man anymore. You can push yourself to do whatever when you are young. I gotta start first with the Lion Diet after 1.5 days left. I know how to work out. Y’all take it easy now...

That was amazing how you set a goal to attain 10.000 dollars by starting a podcast and you ended up with just a little bit above it! Good job and also at that early stage in your career, hardly graduated!

Lots of good information and appreciate you bringing attention to this treasure. I listen to the audio version of the book every morning on my commute. I'm on my third time through. I think it's important to note that Napoleon Hill advised against readers flipping through to the main points. It is meant to be a roadmap and every single sentence, every word was carefully chosen by NH to help you FULLY understand how to think and grow rich in the way that you described in the intro. It's all about subconscious reprogramming which you briefly eluded to in the intro.
So... specialized knowledge. Here's what I got from Hill: you don't need to be an expert in the field you want to succeed in you just have to acquire that knowledge someway somehow. He illustrates how Henry Ford had no schooling whatsoever but he knew to surround himself with others who had the knowledge. You don't need to be an expert at anything... you just need to know how to find the answers you're looking for. And, as Hill says, specialized knowledge is around every corner. Anyway, just wanted to talk about this book because it is so awesome. Thanks for posting!

A R I can’t say I agree. After reading it a few times I think it is really good to go to the key points. If Think is working for you, that’s good. I love learning and self education and I do read Hill’s stuff, listen to his recordings. It reveals his genius and his flaws. All his businesses were failures. He did do very well in writing, speaking and coaching. He did very well for someone who couldn’t use the principles himself. He did great in writing books and was persistent in that. His books fascinate me and others, because it’s so easy to get excited and read a book and think it has all the answers. I believe they don’t. So I read and listen of Hill. I study not just his books, but his character and learn from it. I learnt plenty from his recordings. He got rich and famous, then went broke. I mean he doesn’t follow his own advice.

Just like you said, finding a niche is crucial in creating a marketing audience that will be interested in your service/product, even if your niche is a smaller group because they will be willing to pay more because you are solving their specific problem

Never got to the end of the book mainly because im shit at reading old type language but i think i got halfway through and it has very good principles but what i learnt from it was you need to always have this mindset 24/7 which can be exhausting/very hard (but again thats just a mindset)

    • @karlos99able

Yes, it will take huge amounts of effort, mentally and I think what this book most important lesson explains is that if you have a burning desire, which is your passion, your why, your purpose then that hugh mountain in front of you actually becomes enjoyable to climb. We are less likely going to give up on something we enjoy doing even when it gets tough. The author explains that if you don't have a burning desire for something yet then this book won't be useful. Find your Why then read the book again. I also suggest getting the audio version, its not written as an easy read and I think the audio will be easier to soak in some of the complicated meanings and also a book that will need to be read a few times.
Great book recommend getting it, I think its one of those that's not a good idea to just use the summary, get the book because you need to go.deep and a summary isn't going to do it justice.

Read it at least five times or more , mark the things that are important. Don't just read try to assimilate...jot downs the things and put those things in a place where you could see it everyday.

You'd be surprised what you remember but think you dont. The subconscious mind is like a tape recorder , also you don't need to remember everything , just the important stuff.
