In this video, we're going over one of the most influential spiritual awakening books of the past couple of centuries going over the power of now Eckhart Tolle and I'm giving you the best 10 ideas.
Hey, welcome back to the book review series. My name is Clark. If you're new here I help people refuse to settle and in this series, we take self-development books, which you know can be a couple hundred pages or they're like 10 hours on audible and we condense them down into the 10 biggest ideas for you. Really actionable stuff that you can walk away with. So if you want to read the book, that's great. I have it linked up in the description. Actually read this one and got it on audible as well. Or if you just want to watch this video, enjoy it. Bust out a notepad and your journal. Get some big ideas from this that you can dive into after. All right, echo toy, the power of now I first heard about this book and I'll show you some cool stuff in a bit like that little chart up there.
I can't wait to walk that over with you. But I first heard of this book on Oprah, super soul Sunday. Guys, remember that? I don't know if you guys have ever listened to that. It was like a podcast back 2014, 13 or 12 before podcasts are really big. Right. And I heard are totally on there and at the time, if you know my story, I was a janitor in college. Okay. I would scrub toilets and the female floor and all that stuff in the summertime. And so I just had to, you know, not go mad cause I was scrubbing spots and I go into the next dorm room like okay great. That dorm room is clean and the next one was just the exact same room but dirty and you know, everything was cleared out. So it felt like you were just in this big, um, inception, no man's land, purgatory of just nothingness.

I have listened to The Power of Now at least 5 times. I have actually felt changes inside of me while listening to it. Once, I listened to it during a long walk and when I got back in the car and closed the door I just sat in silence for a minute as Eckhart Tolle advised and I just felt this overwhelming sense of bliss. I was crying tears and laughing uncontrollably. Although a small part of me was thinking Wtf is happening here lol. This was about two years ago and It hasn’t happened since. Has anyone else experienced this??

Thank you for sharing your story. I listened to The Power of Now at least 5 times as well. After the first time when the book ended and the bells rings I broke down in tears. I was so overwhelmed with joy. Pure love and peace was flowing through me. Everywhere I went for 2 weeks was pure bliss. I was crying because I felt so in love with strangers at the airport. It changed my life. Since that time I've never experienced it again except for short bursts. It's similar to the effect of mushrooms but was all natural high. All from placing 100% focus on the present moment.

I think you're going in the right direction Clark. I've been reading 5 pages of Eckhart Tolle every morning for years. It's a transformational habit. This book is not about extracting information. It's an experience to be revisited as often as possible. Next up, A New Earth?

I just recently found your channel and I totally believe it was a sign. I read this book about 3 months ago and it started a journey that has eventually led me here. It changed my whole perspective on life. Over this 3 month period everything felt like it was falling apart, changing. Actually I now know things had to break down, change in order for the teachings I have learned to actually take hold for me. This is a great book. This is a great video summarizing it. I am grateful for both.

You hit on a big thing (around the 19/20-minute mark) I learned a few weeks ago. The difference between identity and opinion. This is why so many people get offended and why so many normal topics have become "touchy subjects" - politics included. People don't see their beliefs as opinions anymore but as part of their identity. This means that when we talk about a topic and we disagree, the person who sees their view as part of their identity feels attacked and gets offended. Those who realize that it is an opinion can move on more easily with the disagreement.

This is a great video. Glad I found your channel. I've read this book twice, this is a good refresher. I relate to you a lot, as I also had a dream of being a rock star when I was younger. My band did get signed, but circumstances caused me to leave them right before first tour. Knowing I can't work a normal job, I got hired as an instructor teaching martial arts which is where I am now. But after 18 years, I'm burnt out and feel stagnant, my quest is to get my life to a state of flow, really I just want to feel a zest for life where I look forward to the day and not feel so drained all the time. I feel like I'm on the verge of a break through but there's something holding me back a bit I need to identify and smash through to truly live at my highest potential.

God damn the matrix is weird. I had an amazing dream last night and there was this building in it. I was watching a video in one of my passions, and they stated this book. I then searched and found myself on this video. At the end I was like, I wonder where Tolle is from, most likely Germany. I searched him up, yes he is. I clicked on the city on maps, and a very eerily similar building was the profile pic of the city. Strange shit. I've been on a very steady, consistent, and intensive mindset and self change since early last year. I suppose I'm on the right path. But yeah, the matrix is real 100%.

Hi, a fan from China! I love ur videos a lot and the book u recommended I bought them all! But I have a suggestion to make, some of ur videos are too long, like this one! I had downloaded this one first then I watched it on the subway to work! Otherwise I wouldn't be finished it all! From my perspective, some part could be cut! Well, it’s from my heart! Peace and love!
