    It's fast, but that's good, as people in Russia will speak fast! Anyway, the advantage of videos is that you can replay as many times as necessary. Also, don't forget that UA-cam lets you play videos at half speed or even quarter speed.

    Which case is Двоих, троих, etc, and what case is Двух? My Russian friends and my girlfriend cannot explain it to me.

    • @AntoniaRomaker
      @AntoniaRomaker  9 років тому

      +Patrick Loftus both 'двоих' and 'двух' are Genetive plural, the difference can be seen in the Nominative too:
      два - a cardinal number is used with nouns and is very common
      двое - is a collective numeral and is used not so often, there are some cases in which such numerals are usually used:
      1) with nouns, with have no singular - двое суток, твое носков
      2) + дети, люди, лицо
      3) are used alone, when you talk about people, but do not use the word 'people' - На улице курили двое.
      4) with animate masculine nouns - пятеро спортсменов, четверо человек
      In formal speech cardinal numerals are used preferably.

      +Antonia Romaker Thank you. By the way, is Двое pronounced like Dvoye or Dvoyo? I hate that "yo" is often written like "ye". For the longest time I was pronouncing metro station Молодежная like "Molo-dyezh-naya" instead of like "Molo-DYOZH-naya", and nobody knew what I was talking about. Why can't we just always put the two little dots above "Е" when we mean "yo"?!!!!?

    • @AntoniaRomaker
      @AntoniaRomaker  9 років тому

      +Patrick Loftus well, yeah, I understand, that it's a little problem for those, who study Russian..
      двое, трое, четверо, пятеро, шестеро, семеро, восьмеро, девятеро, десятеро - all these are with "е", not "ё"

    lts a helpful video with lots of situational dialogue, however, you both talk much too quickly. Im not sure what level of Russian learning you target - for beginner level its just far too quick to learn from.
