welcome back and thanks for the video.
I have been studying Russian for a short time, 3 months, and I hope begin to watch your videos every day. The classes are very funny and interesting..
до свидания!
That's great ;) Keep going!
thank you for the support :)
Спасибо вам большое 😊
excellent
You are always very nice and your lessons enjoyable. I would like to add a couple of things for clarity sake: in this original way of telling time in Russian the 1st hour goes from 12 to 1, the 2nd hour from 1 to 2, the third from 2 to 3. If it's 10 past 2 you'll say "десять минут третьего (часа) that is "ten minutes of the third (hour)". It is in the genitive case (родительный подеж). Also in the genitive are the numbers after без, двадцати, пятнадцати и так далее. I maybe would have mentioned четверть ( -ого часа) or без четверти (час)... Пока!
Thanks, dear :)
love your videos
+Adam Abady thank you!
Thank youuuu :)
Welcome, dear! :)
your videos are great... am few months in this language, and this videos has really helped in building my confidence to speak... one question... #when you where saying minutes to 4... the ending was consistent from 2 minutes till 4 minutes... what of 5 minutes and upwards?? thanks keep on doing this great videos
israel Johnson Thank you for watching! Can you extend your question? I don't get it just yet :)
I LOVE IT
So If I get this right, the correct way to say for example 10:25 is: двадцать пять минут одиннадцатого, which literally translates as: "25 minutes of the eleventh (hour)". Ещё раз, очень большое спасибо за это видео!
Всё верно ;)
Yeah!!!! Really simple!
I like you and your presentation
+Anzan Mahfuz thank you very much! :)
Your videos are very helpful, and you're an amazing teacher. I like Russia and everything in it, so don't get me wrong when I tell you the Russian language is extremely complex and seems like the structure makes absolutely no sense a lot of the times hahaha! I think that is what makes it awesome to learn it.
MrRasalgethi thank you for watching and commenting! :)
I understand what you are saying and in many cases you are right Russian makes little sense, but it is still enjoyable and fascinating to study! ;)
Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online Antonina could you please tell me what's de difference between "подскажите" and "скажите" ? Oh and btw, I really really love your videos and they are all very helpful! Keep doing this amazing job !
Your sister: Beautiful
Thank you) I wish we could make more videos with her, but it is veru difficult now, she lives very far away....
Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online I don't know but, after watching a lot of russian movies и мелодрамы я думаю что она looks like Полина Сыркина... на мой взгляд :-)
wow thats strange that you have to extract an hour! Will take a lot of practice, but i will get it perfect eventually! I enjoy your videos. Thank you!
+craig savage I am glad that my videos are helpful for you :)
literally forms are
y hours x minutes
x minutes of y+1 (next one) hour
This one I completely lost it. It's fast and we haven't seen number or cases yet.
All cases are here - ua-cam.com/play/PLCL8PrsNNVvcqprs0QyDwJjSXh6fIwJty.html
Is “не подскажите, сколько времени?” in a conditional kind of tense. It still feel like the command form of the verb. I have only limited experience with that tense. I am excited to improve my ability to talk about time in Russian instead of just saying the numbers like off a digital clock. I’ll likely have more questions. Спасибо.
It is like a question in a negative form, in Russian we often ask for things in a negative form
Не подскажете, где автобусная остановка? (Could you tell me where the bus stop is?)
Не поможешь мне приготовить ужин? (Will you help me cook dinner?)
Не хочешь сходить в кино? (Do you want to go to the movies?)
Good job Antonia , I really like to watch and study your class video's, you are very smart , when you have your sister Vera or Tonia as a team mate , that's so lovely to watch .I like studying youtube videos , but by any chance , can you contact me to a class in Russia , where I can set down next to the white board and study ? . I think that would fix me up faster ,I am very interested in the Russian language .so please let me know . If you have time ? I know you are kind enough , I can tell you that much . Thanks so much , Antonia !!
I'm waiting for an answer Antonia! I m new to this conversation tipe , not sure if you get the message. let's keep trying good weather for everyone , thanks I pogualuista.
To Antonia. I am waiting on an answer!😋😋😙😙
How does this work . Antonia ?
I have one question, the reason why it extracts one hour.
My guess is that it means the
1st, 2nd, 3rd hour after 12 o'clock
( eg. 13:05 in your case . It represents the "second hour" after 12:00)
Is my guess logical?
Yes, it is quite logical :)
2:47 so funny :D.... 5:54 its hard for me but i love you Antonia
Areeg Gigi thank you, dear! Keep going! ;)
it's good Lesson, have suggestions you can pronounce all the numbers from 1st to 12 o clock,so that we can know why we are not using athin and Duah, instead we are using tarovie ,treeti and so on.Need another video on the time again ,I under the subtraction part.but can I know the logic behind the subtraction....Russia is facination at times.
+jahangir ibrahim have you watched this one? - ua-cam.com/video/QfZeFpcLa3M/v-deo.html
Thanks for the lesson, you made it easy to understand, Russian is getting easier by the day and is starting to make a lot of sense.
1 small issue, at 4:05 and 5:10 I think you meant subtract 1 hour not extract 1 hour :)
+Tom Lee you are welcome, glad it helped you!
p.s. it doesn't matter how you call it, I hope the meaning is clear
+Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online.
Thats ok I just meant "Extract" is used when you are removing something from within something else, for example: You can extract a dinosaur bone from the ground. Or, a doctor could extract a kidney from the patient.
"Subtract" is used when removing numbers or amounts of things.
Obviously not a big deal just sounds a bit odd :)
Would you be able to make a video about some of the different words for 'go' like - идти, ехать, ходить, ездить, уходить, проходить, etc
It seems like there is a never ending list of different words for 'go' depending on how you are traveling. Is there some logic or history of the words that might make it easier to remember?
Im sure it would sound weird to russians if I used 'идти' when I should be using 'уходить' or something else!
Tom Lee I see, thank you, it was an honest mistake and I do understand the difference. As for the video, I will soon post a video about verbs of motion with prefixes, it will help a little ;)
+Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online
Perfect thanks so much!
Also dont worry I know your english is extremely good, you make far fewer mistakes than us native english speakers!
+Tom Lee you are very kind ;)
you should have pronounced things more slowly... this video seems to be shot in a hurry. great work anyways, I follow your channel
David RF thank you for following! We were very tired then, if I recall correctly..)
past - это после, to - до, "It's 5 minutes past 10" - 5 минут 11го, "It's a quarter to 7" - без пятнадцати 7 ;)
Now check yours :)
you mean that numbers are confusing?
girls i'm a noobby and i dont know how to pronounce Russian lang' ,,, it would be great if y'll have some word in english ( which help how to pronounce the word ) ,,, but yall doing great thanks
I use transcription which is very close to the one, used for English learners ;)
However in some classes, I don't write it. Learning how to read in a language is one of the first steps, I have a whole playlist, devoted to it, take a look -

^~^"
It would be more helpful if the lady on the right spoke SLOWER
da , da ,da ,da ...yes , yes , yes yes
сколько времени means literally "how long", right?
if you talk about duration yes, ex. Сколько времени занимает у тебя дорога до работы? (How long does it take you to get to work?)
The speaking speed is a little too fast for beginners ...
I am so lonely, I wish I could move to Russia and meet new friends
You can meet new friends anywhere ;)
But Russian friends would be cooler
plz , speak russian slow and clear and many times , this is not Russian lesson , it is English ?
твоя подруга красно
Это моя сестра ;)
I'm living in Moscow and I can't understand when people say цифры!
Бедные иноязычные - им ведь эти минуты и часы ещё просклонять надо (((. Понимаю, насколько легче изучать английский.
Это точно!!! 🤭
Nice video, but damn fast ,
Visal Sen sorry that it's too fast...( I will probably devote another video to time telling in Russian
yep, thanks for replying , keep it up
Why do you extract one hour?
Почему Вы извлекаете один час?
Kathryn Petrick a good question... not sure how I can answer it. Why do we do that.... I simply don't know, I have never thought about it... :) but if I find anything about it or it will hit me, I'll write to you..)
For example. When it's 5 minutes past 2, the 3rd hour is going, so that 5 minutes of the 3rd hour have passed. In Russian we say '5 minutes of the 3rd' (5 минут третьего).
+McSimych wow that makes perfect sense! thank you, this will help me understand it better when putting it to use.
I tend to like the your video lessons but this one is really too fast for learners to follow. It's good though that you can read on the screen.
Kurt Gerard well, the problem is that we are native speakers and we are not used to speaking very slowly, but you are right. I try to speak slower now in my videos ;)
Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online I do agree with Kurt that it was very fast; however, I do like that. Somehow, I feel that when you speak faster (like you do in Russia), we'll learn maybe not in the 'fastest way' but in the 'right' way. Good job, Antonia :)
Я сагласен с MrRasalgethi. Без слуха по-русски: выступал на нормальной скорости; аудирование не случится для нас, учеников.
teach you what? :) Russian?
My girlfriend is russia and learn how speak with my girlfriend?
This is really HARD, I don't understant myself learning Russian in English which is not my first language :D
serberuss it is hard, you are right, but you can do it! Just do not quit ;)
