That Ifan Stormveil guy put up a pretty good fight, it showed that the storm stomp claymore stays strong in the right hands, even against chase. The Baemore is truly old reliable.
He was also being a giga bitch! using regen and bubbletear to regain health during a duel and basically running away spamming Dale Gribble pocket sand! lmao amazing gameplay.
He was trying for style points to finish with the bow, but his rolling wasnt sufficiently on point.
I really dont think so. Chase using less than haft power of naginata. Not to mention RoB, moonveil, all other halberd, and caster, .etc

Man I was rooting for Ifan Stormveil so hard at the end there; he had Chase in a really bad spot and then choked right at the end.
Sadly he got greedy with the bow, trying to finish Chase off from a distance. Maybe low on FP for the rocks?
Loved how he went all-in on the Stormveil setup though, even using the stormwing arrows and beast bow!
One of the best competitors chase has had to fight in eldin ring. Good on him.

Yes he had two good chances, but his desire to win ranged worked against him - once with the rocks proccing a heal and once with the bow. Given his health post-regen, he probably should have tried going in for the kill since he'd still win on a trade.

I'm a huge fan of Douglas Adams books and Monty Python as well. Also, on a side note to "Mostly Harmless" as a name, I once knew a really kind homeless man who always introduced his name as "I'm Not Dangerous". He would hang around our punk rock shows and chat with all the cool kids.
Piercing Fang is like a giant hunt with a confusing delay and more reach. Harder to use but it stronk.
in my opinion, the fact that it's so delayed actually makes it really strong because it usually forces one panic roll and hits after the roll
So glad to see this weapon not dual-wielded, it has such a cool moveset when people aren't just mindlessly spamming running L1s :)

Suuuuper underated. Basically never see these dual wielded in duels.
The r1 not coming out at roughly 8:43 might have been caused with the weird bug that occurs when you jump while 2-handing a weapon. For whatever reason there is a pretty noticeable time where after you jump, your attack inputs will not register.

wonder if it's tied to the animation while carrying stuff that makes it so certain weapons how you hold them on Torrent controls wether you can fall and still double jump
@@darkarchonisme I was thinking it had something to do with animations not allowing action until they're complete ie the "landing" animation blocks your ability to cancel it into a running attack while two-handing
Just an idea
Something similar happens when you switch weapons. I can't count the number of times I've died because I brought out a shield and had to wait what felt like eons after the animation ended to start swinging again.
If you're wondering why you disconnected from Ifan the first time around, it was the infamous 2min EAC disconnect, the duel started around 9:20 and ended at 11:20 in the video.
I'm so afraid that once DS3 servers are finally back on PC, from & bamco will yeet EAC in there, causing similar issues. ;_;

I genuinelly had to see it again. Chase basically improvised that move on the spot and it looked like he danced through his opponent, and mind-tricked him into rolling to his death. It was beautiful

It's such a blessing to see your duels with kinda good connection, today I played PvP and there were A LOT of latency problems, people were hitting me from miles away
Hey Chase, love your stuff! Couple quick builds I would love to see you play, though not singular weapons. With your weapon swapping style, I think it would be really interesting to see a Shield Hero build from you where you swap between a lot of different shields with unique ashes of war and such.
And a roar build would be fun with the barbaric roar, troll roar, beast roar and others. I've been enjoying that build. It is best experienced with the fanged imp head on. The gaping mouth gives your roars a buff and I won't be convinced otherwise. If you can fit Greyoll's Roar, all the better.
Been enjoying all your videos, they've really got me into invasions more, my first step into pvp was duels just to test the waters against real people and its been fun, been invading at 150 but started a new character to try out low level invasions, I'm looking forward to it once I get the recusants finger (I don't want bloody eyes)

YES. I have been waiting for you to put out a cross-naginata showcase since I switched to it a few months ago. It's such a versatile-- fun weapon. It feels like you're dancing when you're slaying with it, because it's so fluid :).
Hey man I play elden ring and really enjoy it. That said when i get off work or on my lunch break i look for your videos and have even started watching your DS videos. This is my first souls type game and this is great content.
It's moveset is so cool. It's a pity it gets overshadowed by dual nagi bullgoats.

I’ve been using this w/ Flame Art scaling on my 80 Faith pyromancer build w/ black flame tornado. Really fun moveset, works fantastic with that Ash of War too. Rips Malenia’s health bar to shreds.

The Ifan reduel was fucking awesome. Love the intention to chip you with rocks and the bow, and it was satisfying seeing you read his panic rolls and win when he switched.
I'd love to see a discussion where you talk about the various weapons and rank their usefulness in duels and invasions. I kind of get an idea based off of how easy the fights go. But it would be cool to hear your thoughts overall. Maybe listing out your favorites and least favorites.

spinning strikes ash of war has an extend move as well when you do it a LT after spinning it a couple times it allows you to lunge into the air when you do it as well

Suppuko on occult weapons with inherent bleed and at least 50 arcane is insane. You gain tons of AR and the bleed is only a fraction less than bleed infused. It'll make any weapon good

Sword Dance tip: Its an amazing Rivers of Blood counter (If they don't have enough poise or are on the second L1 of RoB) because of the dash. Its also good for roll catching.

Hey man, nice video; nice showcase of the moveset! There is a weapon that I believe could be interesting for a showcase; the Mantis Blade is a relatively short curved sword, but has a unique R2 which expands its range. It lacks in range, but that could be made up for by using certain Ashes of War. I hope you consider the idea, but nonetheless these showcases are great, keep them coming!
you should try the ornamental straight sword(first boss weapon) the move set is insane especially after the L2 hold R1
Man, i'll always think that you are good in PVP souls games and you proved it in that duel with Ifan Stormveil, in other words, you are a beast, keep going like that in your videos bro.
You should really try out Law of Regression in invasions, especially against spammers and buff stackers. It covers a massive area, something like 15+ rolls distance, and removes all (de)buffs, and status effects. Perfect for trolling casters xD
I often do the light attacks you can change up the timing slightly and catch many guys who think you are done with chain of attacks press r1 like 5 times but mix up doing it slowly and fast as long as it’s within a second or two of each attack you will do the moves
Quick insight for the Spinning Strikes ash of war, if you press R1 or R2 while holding L2 your character will perform two different animations for each input, one spinning light attack for R1 and a spinning heavy attack for R2.
I am commenting because of Ifan Stormveil's great performance. Well done, interesting choice to switch to the bow to finish off the opponent.
I actually love Ifan's build. I'm a big fan of jack of all trades builds. The storm stomp and claymore, the rocks for medium range chips, the bow for long range and to top it off the regen to gain the advantage in drawn out fights. Was a lovely duel that one. :)
What platform are you usi g for the game ? The graphixs look great.

This thing is pretty great with cold and the frost lance for the great shield users
I did a sekiro themed build with this using storm assault, dragonbolt blessing, and electrify armament. Along with a few shock spells and a off hand katana with storm caller to mess with people’s roll timing. Even got a wind themed parry with the storm wall ash of war which also lets me deflect arrows and knives.
i love the quiet excitement when chase finds a worthy foe :D
When I first used this weapon, I was ecstatic about the moveset. Made that octopus cave my favorite area.

Being using the Naginata a lot recently, this is great! Can't decide between Black Flame Tornado or Spinning Strikes with Black Flame Blade on it.
Black flame tornado is great for thirsty gankers
Would love to see some of the flails, they're short range (sometimes) and have some interesting weapon arts you don't see much
Love the moveset of this weapon. Really fun to play on a Dex build with lightning on it
sword dance is by far best ash for this weapon :) Especially with bloodflame blade buff its really neat weapon
i also use the sword dance AoW on the nagi n i learned that when you follow up with another L2 right after using the AoW you do a downwards slam attack that i think is pretty effective at catching people off guard

You should do a video on the sacrificial axe. It’s usually used just for the FP, but it’s my favorite weapon design-wise.
I'm glad that arcane/luck builds are strong in elden ring. My main character back in dark souls 3 was a quality/luck build. There were some very interesting weapons that scaled well with the hollow infusion, but they tended to just fall short damage-wise of a specialized or even just normal quality build. As for the cross naginata itself, it's actually a pretty balanced weapon imo. It only gets to be a problem when powerstanced and combined with heavy bleed. This was a great showcase of how it can perform without a gimmicky build! The duel with Ifan had me on edge.
It's been a while without heavy big weapons so what about the Royal greatsword ? It's ash of war is pretty interesting and looks really cool too >:) great video ! I'm really looking forward to the moment where you will have done every weapon showcase. You'll be a legend

Pro tip: if someone is using the spear running attack on you, roll TOWARD them not away from them :)
I now have a greater appreciation for the Naginata, a weapon I upgraded in PvE but never seemed to use effectively. Plus I was trying to decide what weapon to use next and I am pretty sold on Claymore thanks to Ifan. I like when people use the fairly normal Ashes of War and not the fancy magic/faith ones.
Chase, have you tried the Phantom Slash ash of war? It's like having a spirit do a bloodhound step attack and then you do the same immediately after. Pretty cool!

I do love this Naginata's unique moveset! I wish a few other weapons would use it or something similar...
Honestly, I wouldve been really happy if a couple 'halberds' were considered spears and used it instead.
The sword-staff comes to mind as one that would've worked MUCH better with this moveset then it's own.
You actually can get to that area in farum, if you drop down and then take the elevator up you can drop down onto the site of grace

The flowing R1s that this weapon has is simply beautiful.
well I want to talk about this weapon
1: the moveset is freaking amazing it's also fast really fast and the range is there you can feel it
2: the damage is kinda OK it could be better though, but it has that bleed you gotta remember that
3: this weapons shines most when dual wield and if you don't another naginata to do that you can use bolt of gransax as an option
4: it's a faster version of guardian sowrdspear but with less damage over all, but it has that bleed to compensate for that
5: it's a weapon which you can change the ash of war which makes it a great choice just because of that
all in all it's difficult to say which one is better between naginata or guardian swordspear
guardian feels better because it has more damage, but it is slower and if you can dual wield it your going to do loads damage, but it's not like you need it to do good damage
naginata is faster, but it kinda lacks damage which makes it kinda of dependent on the bleed or the dual wield, but that isn't reason enough to say that it's bad and you can improve the damage of this weapon in many ways
I have that same quandary about those two.
Ifan’s variety of attacks was impressive
