If you do another katana showcase, i HIGHLY recommend you use the wakizashi to kill two birds with one stone. Waki lets you powerstance with another katana despite it being a dagger, and frankly that is its only gimmick to demonstrate. Now, you might ask, "why not just use a second katana instead of the wakizashi?" Well you cant put the parry ash of war on a katana, and i think thats the greatest strength. People might expect a parry when you're holding a buckler or any light shield in general. Smart people might expect a parry when you're holding a misericorde. But a surprising very few people expect a parry when you're powerstanced with a waki, and is best saved as a wild card when they're at half health and MMMMMMMM dopamine.

Considering the fully charged R2 did 700 damage when he fought Nicki again at 17:20 , I'm thinking this player may also be rocking at least one soreseal.

Chase, the Serpentbone Blade has a unique R2 that instantly procs the multi-hit boosting talismans and buffs. It gets really silly if you're stacking those. Also, you may want to look at using an offhand with Poison Moth Flight whenever you're running a poison weapon - it causes all the poison damage to be taken immediately
Tbh I’ve been running taunters tongue playthroughs lately as a way to half keep the game alive and half see the diversity some people come up with, there are quite a few really interesting invaders out there, love you all and GG. 🤣
hey Chase, i think this weapon would have done way better with Millicent's Prosthesis, rotten winged sword, and the multi-hit physick tear - the uncharged heavy and the weapon art activates all three for huge amounts of damage, and you can use the rot exultation as the poison builds up pretty quickly. would've been cool to have a more unique build that serves the weapon better rather than the same cookie cutter build you use for other weapons. no hate though! love the weapon showcases, just thought my favourite weapon could have seen more light!
A weapon that DESPERATELY deserves to be covered is the *Iron Cleaver* While Axes aren’t really a great weapon class with their poor range and slower moveset compared to Straight Swords, the crux of the wepon is the *Charge Attack,* as it’s one of the best Roll-Catchers in the game Slap on the Axe Talisman, drink a Spiked Cracked Tear and then watch your opponents use the Balled Up emote!

I use a very similar lightning build to that host and its really fun! Just a couple things I've noticed when playing: Fortissax's lightning spear works better when you trade with the opponent because it gives you a lot of hyperarmor and hits a lot close up. Frozen lightning spear is super easy to dodge, ancient dragons lightning strike has very good range and kinda tricky to dodge so I use that instead. Honed bolt is always good. The glaive is meh but I use it because it looks cool. The bread and butter of the build for me, however, is wrath of gold. So satisfying to hit, does a lot of damage, and allows you to gain some distance. And finally, death lightning, because when it hits 15% of the time, its super fun, especially if im at 100 hp and my opponent is half. And when it doesn't hit, the death clouds force the opponent to run away so I usually follow up with honed bolt. Placidusax could also be a fun spell to include. The main issue with this build is, I cast a million spells that have 5 second windups each to do 1/3 of the damage a moonveil hit does. So it's just a fun lightning build instead of something meta.
This feels like one of those weapons that would benefit MASSIVELY from being able to be infused. Double Slash is really nice on it, but being able to use something like Poison Moth Flight and occult infused to boost the proc rate of the deadly poison would allow for some interesting poison builds.
First invasion looks like they had about 1800 hp.. taking about 600-900 from your attacks some one appears to be wearing sore seals at meta levels would be my guess.
Flowing curved swords would be really cool to see, their unique r2 into sword dance just looks sweet, and is a great way of throwing off your opponents.
I feel like the surprise-factor is finally tapering off. The game had so many weapons and ashes; there was always the possibility that your opponent summons a giant carnivorous banana from the ground, and your split-second of going, "WHAT IS TH-" gets you caught in its jaws. Now most everything whiffs.
Really loving the showcases dude. I'm running dual black knife blades on my faith assassin build, it's a ton of fun. Faith really carries you in this game though 😂 so many buffs.
04:27 - For anyone wondering about the armor it was the Zamor Armor. Very fashionable indeed but sadly not too good stats for its weight, still not completely bad.
Since Chase didn’t seem to mention it, the Serpentbone Blade actually inflicts a “deadly poison” effect which is higher damaging and shorter lasting than regular poison.

Hey Chase, a really cool showcase would be the Mantis Blade, which to me is like a distant cousin of Bloodborne's Beasthunter Saif. Pretty cool weapon that you don't see that often.
Something unique about this weapon is that its R2 instantly activates the more damage on attacks buff, if you land it or barely miss it, and there are several of those kinds of buffs fyi. Also the weapon because of its unique r2 and weapon art, gives it a unique 6 hit roll catch combo. A point blank r2 roll catches into a fully charged R2 which you then can roll catch with the weapon art. Will one shot with damage in hit buffs. Also the weapon art is useful for roll catching like a straight sword r2 in ds3, running r2 into weapon art will roll catch, from jumping heavy, anything that staggers the enemy at point blank
I feel like the roll L1 with dual wield katanas are massively slept on. Perfect counter attack move and with the Nakakiba has ridiculour range and can hit multliple enemies easily in an invade.
If you got the Altus halves, skipped Stormveil and Liurnia, take the grand lift, ascend to Volcano Manor by ignoring Fullgrown Fallingstar Beast, and complete the first two commissions, you can get this weapon without killing any bosses. Greyoll would be happy to give you runes enough to wield it. This will be my pure dex build.
Here I am with another whips comment, but giants braid and the magma whip candlestick slap and could make good showcases. I run braid right in dual wield in tandem with candlestick left and swap ashes between them. Super fun imo, whips feel elite in this game. Urumi still fave tho.

Just finished a playthrough mainly with this weapon, was a ton of fun. Kindred of rot all the time is great, especially with the shorter deadly poison duration.
I know this video is old but i just came by to say this chase the bro has always been a force to be reckon with ANY weapon that he gets his hands on is going to look like the best weapon for pvp the guy is a monster ive always like the serpent bone blade ever since i got my hands on it when the game came out but to to the lack of my brain dead strategies for build i could never get the thing to work for me i can mske really good 125 str builds but I fail horribly at making Dex builds it seems like evertime i make a dex build no matter how mid/max i go i ether one dont deal the damage or two get completely annihilated because i dont have enough endurance or poise rather or i just get hyper armored out and it doesn't make sense because ill use psss on a str build and do just fine I literally think it's a mental thing
Serpentbone Blade is one of my favorite weapons in the whole game. Double Slash is remarkable good for proccing the Deadly Poison, but it really only works in PvE. You'll never get the poison to go off on players, since nobody ever lives enough hits to get poisoned. If you DO, though, it eats through a rather decent chunk of health over 30 seconds, so it's great to apply pressure.
There is a charm to boost dmg when ppl are poisoned... there is a helmet too but don't it also increase emotional dmg recived as it is less fashionable
I like using the serpent-bone and snake shield set up with the kindred of rot talisman. it makes for a fun duelist set up. you wouldn't think the snake shield would hit with its ash, but it has a range that I find that people have issues spacing
Dude, you’re in my head or something, this is like the fourth time i changed weapons and you happened to upload the showcase on that exact weapon in the same day

It still amazes me how Chase can put out videos that are interesting, entertaining and even satisfying to watch even for those who don't play PVP at all like myself. Apex quality content delivered on schedule, as always. Makes me happy. Regarding Serpentbone: From's decision to make it non-infusable and unbuffable at the last minute's notice both confuses and saddens me. This weapon looks drippy as hell, has the sexiest heavy attack among the katanas and maybe one of the sexiest overall in the game. There's a mod that makes it infusable, using the data that's already in game. Serpentbone gets Arcane scaling of its Poison buildup with Occult infusion, but it's only for PVE. I wonder how powerful a dedicated poison build could be with this. You could either stack regular Poison on top of the Lethal Poison with something like Poison Moth in the main hand, while having either Poisonous or Occult Uchi or Nagakiba in the off hand with Poison Mist, for example, combining bleed and poison.

your first invasion that person actually had 60 vigor, I think they just didnt have ant defense :/
I'd love to see Eleonora's poleblade in your hands. Or something slow like magma wyrms scalesword
I use it on a low level invasion build and it's not bad at all. I do wish they gave the ash of war some more range
It was the Zamor armor. Also my personal favourite
I've been waiting for this yess, I like this sword so much even if its not bleed
8:26 You Banished him! 🤣
Chasethebro again showing the importance of showing up and doing another weapon showcase. I like this sword.
Man i cant wait for the wing of astel episode, the blade beams rollcatches will be so fun to watch!
Its charged heavy is my favorite of all the katanas.
I like using the serpent-bone and snake shield set up with the kindred of rot talisman. it makes for a fun duelist set up. you wouldn't think the snake shield would hit with its ash, but it has a range that I find that people have issues spacing
Dude, you’re in my head or something, this is like the fourth time i changed weapons and you happened to upload the showcase on that exact weapon in the same day
You should’ve used kindred of rots exaltation but great video! I love this series :)
if only this was a curved sword instead of katana it would've been one of the best weapons in the game
Great vid, recently subscribed! Kinda reminds me of old Praise the Sun showcases (RIP😥). Do you think you could do a reverse backstep tutorial? I kinda got the technique but it's very inconsistent. Cheers!
I'm sure it's been answered, but Falco's chest piece looked like Zamor Knight armor.
Ripped from a comment I saw weeks ago.
Opponent does literally anything
Chase- “very fun fight sir thank you”
Kindred of Rot's Exultation and the Mushroom Crown to get a big damage bonus when poison procs
But apparently it didn't matter lol
The second fight was the Zamor chest piece. I know that bc I’m actually rocking that chest piece on my faith build
Fun fact you can Parry the initial stab into the ground on gavitas
I believe that chest piece is from the Zamor set, found in one of the heroes graves in the lands between
11:30 the elusive Chase Stretch
Your first duel had the Zamor chest piece I believe.
Scythe guy was fighting you all the way from DS3
I think it was the Zamor Chest piece the other person was using
