I'm happy for the invasion at the end, I have never invaded in a souls game before and those two guys were literally my first ever true experience PvPing in these games. Their strat is for the goat to go ahead and distract you while the caster/bleed build tries to one or two shot you by spamming spells, or roll catch you with RoB. Then they always proceed to t-bag and point down. So seeing them get easily delt with was satisfying, specially knowing they really aren't great players, I'm just trash at PvP.
Chase is one of the best examples of the community as he readily answers the questions or claims of weapon viability. They’re *all* viable if you’re good enough. Edit: gg Elika; represented that hammer well.
Hammers aren't as bad as people say. I would put them at around the same tier as straight swords. They have very similar swing speed, similar if not more damage than straight swords, and it does strike damage. The only downside is you don't get the AoWs that require thrusting.
I don't even do PvP, let alone invading. Idk, why I'm so addicted with his videos LOL. And now I do duels at Lucaria every now and then. Like 2 to 5 battles and back to boss coop.
i never really see you bait out attacks and then using backstep r1/r2s. some weapons have great backstep attacks too! Like nutty forward thrust which really catch people off-guard. love the content as always tho, ur the man the bro the legend
backsteps arent very good due to latency unfortunately. you can backstep out of range on your screen, but on theirs you might still be in front of them as they swing at you, causing you to get hit. they dont give any i-frames so you cant use them to disengage without risking getting smacked. if you do them at a distance then you're just telegraphing that youre gonna do a backstep attack. on inexperienced players it definitely could be good, but against a good opponent its just a waste of stamina
@@craig4300 depends on the weapon you and enemy are using but can be good for mixups roll back and then backstep follow up can be great if someone is pressuring you. Obviously not best to use it all the time cause its just one of those tools
Your videos are such a joy to watch compared to many others. A lot of creators seem to talk shit about everyone’s build or either have such a cocky attitude about themselves. That aside, loving the showcase so far! Can’t wait for the next one!

love the showcases, so many interesting things often overlooked by the "meta", this, your invasion builds streams and Prod's worst invader series are some of the best pvp elden ring content on the platform. also if i may say, try out the funny skeleton axe the Rosu's Axe, i got it a few days ago and the ash of war tickled the funny bone kinda silly but worth the try
Meteoric ore blade has a very nice kendo looking R2 and it scales with strength and intelligence, making it my favorite special katana Gravitas is an underrated skill imo, not too slow and people tend to panic with gravity effects
Would you ever consider including dual wielding matches in your weapon showcases? Like maybe for 3/10 of the matches you use two of the weapon and talk about it’s moveset when pairing 2
I have two for powerstancing and it's great because they have the range of a spear. However, imo, katanas are one of the weaker powerstances and you can do just as well with two-handing or off-handing.
@@jquanisgone People really underestimate the crouch / roll attack on the katana. Dual Nagakiba crouch attack has huge stagger damage with decent range, I can usually catch greatsword / halberd users from their pokes and come out far ahead, even staggering halberd pokes before they come out.
@@XnathOW you are spot on it's a good mixup to use with one handed heavy running attacks as roll catches aswell. Standard r1s are abit better than the l1s tho imo other than for status build.
Yea I would definitely add power stance to the beginning of the video, but not use it, unless you have done the weapon a load as not to many different move sets.
If you plan on doing a showcase for a straight sword, try out the warhawk’s talon, the r2 is pretty good because of the lunge it has when it double hits. Pair that with storm stomp and theres some interesting potential.
Dueling that puts melania to shame 👌🏽 I would love to see some under used weapon, maybe powerstanced scorpions stinger daggers, or Selurias Tree Spear. Whatever it ends up being, you never fail to entertain, looking forward to next showcase.

I still wish they'd make an Odachi. The Sephiroth swords are kinda cool, but really played out in my opinion. It'd be nice to have a good cavalry weapon from the Samurai arsenal that acts more like a curved greatsword.
Hey Chase, could you perhaps try greatsword/katana on the right hand and straight sword on the left hand as a build. Wanna see if two different weapons with different attack speeds is viable in Elden ring, with the heavier weapon move set being completely availble and the straight sword used as chip damage. Ive used the blade of calling dagger with morgotts sword for a themed build and it worked surprisingly well, tho i didnt use it in pvp so i cant say anything about that
11:40 Bloodhound's Fang is an incredibly good PvE weapon that you can get pretty early on. Besides having innate bleed buildup, the Ash of War is very powerful. After the initial AoW backflip slash, the follow-up heavy attack lunges you forward using Bloodhound Step into the Stamp (Upward Cut) AoW. Basically combines two Ashes of War together. Too predictable to use in PvE however. Might be good as a wake-up since you can delay the follow up attack a bit and/or change it's direction for a surprise turn and burn. Def not good in duels.
it was the weapon I used for my first playthru because of how cool it's AoW was. Later paired it with the Morgott sword + Dex Arcane build. Was the most fun I had until I discovered lightning incantations + guts sword build was my favorite in any souls game ever.
my go to ash of war is spinning slash with it, offers a lot of range all around, but also use sword dance or double slash as well. mostly spinning slash because sometimes they want to group on you and its nice to have that AOE attack to surprise them.
If you like weapons with fancy R2s, you should try the Miquellan Knight Sword. The charged R2 gives you a massive dash forward with a fancy upward slash.
yeah, Bloodhound's fang (the curved greatsword) is fairly easy to get, scales well with dex, has a good Ash of War, and is one of the few unique weapons that you can use buffs like bloodflame blade on, not surprised it's so popular
Chase you need to try any katana with storm stomp and the hand of melania. the storm stomp can be used to stagger and combo into the waterfowl dance. it is really fun to do and not many people expect it so very few even see it coming and even those that do have problems dodging the combo.
I loved how at 8:57 because of the fact you hit him from the side and the delay with the internet connection you did the anime samurai slash and go behind them and then they die thing. (also happened at 12:07)

Chase these showcases are great, I've analyzed your movements and become better at pvp in general but you don't come across nearly as many rivers users as I do. I've beaten some but still a lot destroy me with 1 ash combo, my go to counter is to pull out a weapon with bhs but I'm getting sick of relying on it, at some point, I'd like to see how you deal with some of the more op weapons or spells like rivers.
When using a melee build you could either put it in faith for temporary buffs (that people seem to hate now and some people will just straight up attack you for using one), or be able to wear half bullgoats for the same amount of points put into endurance with talismans, and you could buff yourself anyways with consumables so I don’t really see the point of buff builds in duels or see many of them in the first place.

Reverse back steps are the best cause it looks edgy, gives you extra range, and you don’t have to worry about latency with doing it.
Only really works with longer range weapons, hell even then latency might smash you into the ground.

Maybe try Wing of Astel? Very strong weapon that mostly gets overshadowed by Moonveil.

Glintstone + nagakiba here too. People are sleeping on this combo, the range and damage on the enhanced R2 thrust is just nuts.

Give Dragonslayer Halberd a try. It even has a unique Spinning Slash Ash of War variant that inflicts frostbite.

Running attack with katana using unsheath ash of war has good mix ups. You Can do running attack and reaction rollcatch Them with l2+r2 or r1
Yo I completely forgot how good katanas are with Lightning infuse. I've only been doing Keen and Occult. Good stuff as always Chase.
I know you already did the showcase but try piercing fang on the nightrider glaive (with poise) the tracking and range is crazy.
Double slash is soooo satisfying. I tried experimenting with other weapons in the game, but double slash nagakiba is always my go to 💪
