@@AriShinato its harder to defeat this stetup. moonveil is one attack. the running attack with the curved swords get 4 hits. bleed stuns for a second, jumping attacks do 6 hits… its awful to fight

It's a tossup between this and Grossmesser, either way, I'm glad there's larger curved swords with flexibility for builds.

Probably they should just grant each player about 500 robustness. Buffing and nerfing each single weapon can be some hell of a task and beside the bleed I don't see this sword to be that OP.

Hey Chase! I'd love to see you do a Weapon Showcase for the Flail. I'm interested to see if you can explain, if possible, how to make it competent in PvP. Cheers!
Chain link flail for Str, nightrider flail for Dex, and I can't find a use for the basic flail.
Spinning chain is good for getting bleed in PvE but you'll never hit anyone in PvP with it, plus there's no infusions for it, unfortunately.
You can't parry a flail normally but some ashes of war like wild strikes can be parried, you also can't backstab with it but that means you won't get those annoying failed backstab attempts so I personally call that a bonus (just keep a misericorde or something in your pocket for ripostes.)
Don’t forget the charged R2 cancel into retreating slash. This can be followed up with an R1 or L1 that moves you forward again. Similar to thrusting swords. Super useful for baiting and punishing.

I think that the Lazuli Glintstone sword would be a good one for this series, great ash of war and is just overall pretty neat, being a wooden magic sword
You can guard while charging the heavy attack too, pretty underrated trick.
Love the guarding on some weapons' r2, I usually have a lot of stamina so guarding is actually viable for me. It is kind of a clutch though, cause I'll just take chip damage instead of being punished if I mess up.
@@sayvech815 I wish more weapons had it besides the Carian swords. The Dismounter CGS would fit really well with a heavy like that since the Kaiden warriors who use it have a similar “block while charging attack” technique

Ah yes, one of the infamous bleed build swords. The running and jumping attacks for dual curved swords are insane with how many times you slash with one L1. You get a buff on the jumping L1 if you wear the Raptor’s Black Feathers chestpiece. Idk how much it buffs tho

It's a 15 percent buff to jump attacks and it stacks with claw talisman. Claw talisman is a 10 percent buff. So it's a 25 percent buff which can be very disgusting

Especially if you use Raptors o Mist, too, to get a sneaky beaky jump attack out of nowhere!
@@memester6668 different buffs stack multiplicative, not additive. that means you don't get a 25% buff (10%+15%) on your base damage, but rather 26.5% (10%x15%). so it's even more damage, which is just stupid.
In 10 hits, with only one with the seppuku buff applied, there were 3 bleed procs. That is fucking stupid. I get that in past Games bleed as a status was pretty shit but that is crazy. I do not understand how it hasn't been nerfed yet honestly.

You would have to betray Millicent to get the prosthesis though

@@lordderppington4694 Yeah you have to challenge her or kill her to get her prosthesis(after you give it to her of course), if you choose to assist millicent then you'll just get the rotten sword insignia which is just a worse version of her prosthesis, it's still good though

Been watching for awhile, always impressed to see the versatility behind alot of the weapons you use. Not much of a PvP guy myself, but I gotta say you're slowly changing my mind!

@@joemency2242 problem is that you just cru too much. Chase can win against someone using this same setup. All these meta weapons are defeatable if you learn to dodge them. Its users are not that good either. So just play. Balancing the game just for pvp will ruin all the pve.
Would love to see you try the ringed finger since it would be funny.
Also the bandit swords do very well with lighting or keen infusions on a dex build as well

Seppeku is actually stronger on occult weapons, as it scales off of arcane.

I'm sure this has been posted and discussed quite a lot. But nevertheless, I did some research and calculations and just wanted you to share.
Despite bleed and Seppuku being clearly overpowered and therefore banned in tournaments for a good reason, I will try to make an approach to face this insanity if you still think you can fight this in the arena.
This whole thing really comes down to simple math.
Seppuku gives one weapon a buff of about 80 bleed. Depending on the choice of weapon and the Arcane stat, a standard bleed weapon will have, let's say about 120 bleed. A lot of players fight bleed weapons unprepared and seem to have only roughly 300 robustness. This results in an insta procc against a dual wielder with one seppuku buff in hand (120*2 + 80 = 320). Mind that there is a possibility that someone buffs two weapons separately with Seppuku and has 400 bleed per L1 attack.
In my opinion, the ideal robustness should be at the very least 700. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to get this much. Before the fight, you would need to put on the Stalwart Horn Talisman+1 (+140 robustness, the Mottled Necklace gives only +60 robustness and is quite a waste IMO) and eat Invogarating White Cured Meat (+75 for 2 minutes). Your standard robustness is at least 185 at SL 125. Endurance grants also robustness but this is only significant if you wield a big shield with 40+ Endurance. Until here you will have about 400 robustness in total. Depending on your armor you get about 100 ~ 200 extra robustness. Radahn's and Lionel's Armor have the highest robustness and grant a bonus of 235 extra points so you will have 625 in total. As you can see two consecutive L1 attacks will still procc the bleed (320*2 = 640). At this point, I am forced to say, that fighting this would simply be a matter of pure madness. So maybe you should stall the fight until your opponent will have to reapply Seppuku after 60 seconds again. Unfortunately I don't see any other option since it will take ~45 seconds to recover from 320 bleed.
I'd simply wish that FromSoft will allow us some 500 extra robustness in the future. Because otherwise bleed and especially Seppuku is just too OP.
Yeah but you don't actually know how much bleed seppeku adds, because it actually scales with your weapons arcane scaling. Meaning on something like an occult scavengers curved sword you actually have higher arcane scaling thus seppuku has higher bleed build up. So you're just guessing because it's kind of hard to truly tell how much bleed you're building. You're also forgetting multi hit attacks like the run and jump attacks of curved swords.

But you are right. I didn't read the part that Seppuku adds some extra bleed depending on your Arcane stat. At 60 Arcane the weapons gets about 100 bleed, so it's 20 more bleed than I've written. Increasing Arcane beyond 60 would simply deny you to have more HP or a good armor.
The biggest issue is the motion value for status when using powerstance. Yes, each hit has the same mv as the one handed attacks, but PW attacks are far faster and does more hits. Adding 500 robustness would make single weapons with bleed completely uselss, and by proxy, made builds that dont use pw bleed weapons far too weak. I suggest giving 2h weapon more MV for status, reduce the mv for PW attacks, and make hyper armour stronger.

These curved swords are insane! I used them for my first play through (with mask and bleed talisman) but I felt incredibly dirty using them for PvP. Lol!!

I'd love to see the Wing of Astel covered in this series!! it's been one of my favorite weapons to use (the ash of war for pve aside, I don't like cheesing bosses, lmao). I love the animations and how flowy it feels with all of the attacks, and the ranged attack is very useful! Also, (idk if this is just curved swords or this weapon, but) I've found myself loving the running heavy because you can kinda strafe with it to narrowly avoid an attack and then strafe back towards your enemy to hit them with that same attack! (Is that practical? maybe not, but it's flashy as FUCK and I'd love to try LOL)
Also regarding the ash of war (I've only tried this in pve but not pvp yet, so you may be able to roll out of it in pvp), but if you can get off a backstab, you throw out the ash of war as soon as you can after the backstab animation and then attack, and they'll get hit by the ash of war as they're getting up and you can attack as the ash stuns them. (for the attack of choice, I like to charge up the heavy attack immidiately after I cast the ash of war for the delay since the ash of war can stun them, and also the high damage, but the aim can be finicky so free-aiming it or using another attack may be better idk). But if that works in pvp and you can't just roll out of it easily (maybe you can rollcatch from that with the ranged attack but idk), it could be a great combo!!!
I love the weapon, both its moveset and its aesthetic and animations. I would love to see how that would look at it's fullest potential!! *Especially* if you try dual weilding it, as I've never seen that before and would love to see how it works!! love the videos :3

I used this today against mohg after using a variety of weapons and I mowed him down with ease. Curved swords may be the best dual wielded weapons
Powerstance curved swords have such a versatile moveset, they were super helpful for the bloated health pools some of the end game bosses at +0

Dual curved swords are fun. I'm using a shamshir and a shotel for my plague doctor cosplay build because they look like oversized medical instruments.

Doing laundry watching a chase vid, did not expect him to say my name. Really caught me off guard
I remember you saying you didn't like weapons with buff on use, but the Grafted Blade Greatsword is really fun to play with. It also gives you more poise on use, so you can completely mix your setup around. It has the most satisfying attacks, and with the recent buffs it became even more fun. No one I've seen invading or in fights uses it, and it'd be fun to watch you bonk some moonveils on the head with it. Not very strong, but a massive poise breaker, easy to turn with it when attacking.
Chase's commentary in that invasion took me back to 2013. Reminded me of a lad named PopularMMOs who did a thing called "Mob Battles" in Minecraft. Wonder what he's up to these days...

Dual Bandit's and Beastman's curved sword is very effective without bleed infusion as well. Heavy infusion with 60+ STR gives you pretty the same insane damage output, even without bleeding your opponent. Also, that's a heavy roll catcher setup.
It’s so great clicking on this knowing chase had no idea how insane these blades are before he tried them.

Dual wielding "fast" weapons are very strong when it comes to damage output due to the number of hits, even without bleed. Then add talismans that stack multiplicatively. Kinda crazy how strong they are in ER, excluding an AoW. Fromsoft really needs to get off their ass and start cranking out some balancing changes. Especially when most changes are blatant and easy to point out.
I've been using the Bandit's Curved swords with Cragsblade on both. The damage buff is ok but the real treat is how it sheds through poise. In combination with the stance break wonderous physick I can trade well with a full bullgoat armor set. Highly recommend this setup if you have trouble with poise monsters and/or shield turtles
No bleed necessary, been using it sacred affinity because I'm a strength/faith build

I love the Serpent-God's Blood Curved sword in one hand when dual wielding. It's AR isn't that much lower, and you get HP per kill, and it even counts for when hosts/furled fingers kill mobs.
Sadly, the wiki says that 2 swords don't stack the heal effect, but it does stack with the Taker's Cameo.
Curved Swords are great! Another useful "move" is to run > jump > land > run for a tiny moment > L1. Covers alot of ground and confuses most opponents bc they dont expect the running L1
The fake jumping attack is one of my go to moves. Catches people out more often than not.

used bunch of weapons during my first playthrough. curved swords were fun as heck
My end game build of my first playthrough was pretty similar to this, except I spec'd for occult affinity and doubled down on arcane and used the scavenger's curved blade on one hand. The damage output was insane w/out the bleed affinity. Since the jump attack and running attack hits 4 times, I used the jump attack talisman as well. I later made a co-op build that spec'ed into frost instead. The double status build up is a bit mental.

Fun fact: the big glintstone usable item where you crush it in your hands does a lot of poise damage- i found this out myself, you can stun people using BHS, you can interrupt most casters, even aggressive bleed builds are forced to roll away in fear of stun whilst you yourself can go do whatever as it'll track them wherever they are.
Like the rapiers, you can backstep out of a curved sword charge attack for a retreating attack.

Instant bloodloss builds with dual weapons are countered by dragonbolt blessing. It forces them to two hand their weapon or recoil after every attack.
The second I see someone with dual spears or dual curved swords, I cast it.
This was my build in my first playthrough. and yep it is busted. XD
and tbh I didn't feel good when the build was to OP and I compensate myself by wearing some minimal armor with low Vigor. but when against an enemy that you can't bleed, feels like "normal game" again. lul

Hey, did you know that you can feint with curved swords? If you press backstep while holding an R2, you'll let it off early and make some distance at the same time. Very interesting move. I've seen players better than I chain it into a reverse backstep attack to cover a lot of ground and attack quickly.
While holding R2 you can press B/circle to do a fancy attack then dodge. It works with curved swords idk other swords
For bleed, Occult Scavenger would be a better fit with inate bleed on them allowing them to hit harder and to bleed easily as well. I run them triple status for status memes and status pressure but, for pure damage and bleed they would be the optimal choice. Also, Occult Flamburge with Double Slash 🙏
Occult Scavenger’s has somewhat lower bleed buildup and only slightly higher AR than Blood Bandit’s once you hit the softcaps. It’s less stat-hungry since you only need Arcane, but by 120 you can easily afford 45 Dex/45 Arc and Bandit’s bleed advantage more than outweighs the ~5% less AR, against anything not immune to bleed.

i like that the weapon on its own was so strong that chase only showcased it with 2 AoW in the duels
I don't get people using soreseals above level 80ish... At that point the damage increase is already significant, and the damage output is already high enough where the 15% is higher than the hp and defenses you will gain, also there is already enough stats to make a decent build.
Also, bleed should work like Frostbite, where if you don't remove the debuff you can't get frostbitten again. While you can remove it with fire, it is a sacrifice that the player has to do it.
Given how OP bleed is, I don't understand how has this not been nerfed.

Love to see Loretta's War Sickle. It's such a pretty weapon and the moveset (guardian swordspear) is my favourite in the game. The 2nd part of Loretta's Slash covers a fair bit of distance and you can catch people off guard if you face the 1st part away.

bandits curved is probably best for bleed since it actually has good damage but you could also argue for comboing it with a cold or poison scavenger's

Try out the magma wyrm curved sword. Did my 1st playthrough with it and its AoW is very unique

This weapon is absolutely fun to play. It's special attack has a lot of tracking as well. People are so often stunned on how much damage the magma does during it's first couple seconds.

If u hold r2 and tap dodge you get an evasive slash that counts as a back step that you can then r1 or l1 out of.

I've been rocking a similar build the whole game. But with some bull goat armor so I can face tank through attacks and get those hits in. I've been experimenting with Seppuku in my off hand and Bloody Slash in my main. It's hard to land Bloody Slash, it takes some set up, but can punish pretty good.
Looks like I need to go farm two of these up. Been using 2x Noble's Slender Swords, but I think I like the running L1 better on these.
That's one of the builds I've been using lately and it's so OP. Well, all the bleeding builds are😅😂

Curved swords have a unique move if you hit dodge while charging a heavy attack, you do a backflip attack.
Once again, excellent video. I really enjoy the variety you bring. I just recently got dual grossmesser's for my current build before realizing the bandits were better on a dex build right after and farming those lmao. Originally did an Arcane build for the dragon incantations but wanted to try out bleed too, had to stop myself from using the dual curved sword/twinblade setups bc of how broken it is. I like Mohg's spear or Bloody Helice+Bloody Godskin Stitcher combo. Bleed but not super busted (aside from bloodboon ritual of course). It would be cool to see you try out the Helphen's Steeple (Onyx Greatsword from DS3) or Death Ritual Spear (pretty cool AoW). Thinking about doing a build with them and would love to see them in action first.

I have learned today that there are a lot of curved/thrusting swords that where if you hold circle and heavy attack you can do backflips and slash and step back etc.
