I pretty much know when John likes a movie within the first 10 seconds of him talking about it. Cause if he likes it usually starts off with some of negative stuff it around the movie (production issues, behind the scenes drama, etc.) and that either wasn’t excited or was nervous about it and if he didn’t like it, it’s the opposite.
I saw this yesterday, it was such a beautiful movie. Loved it. Nic cage killed it, & depending on the buzz it gets I think maybe the movie could get a nom for screenplay. It’s definitely one of those films that it’s not for everybody, I think the pacing and it’s ambiguity throughout will leave some people frustrated

Really surprised to hear this. I loved this movie and it’s funny you point out how they don’t clearly resolve him popping up in dreams, but that didn’t even bother me because I became more invested in nic cage’s character’s story itself more than anything and how it would resolve
you can explain the whole thing happened with MC as a test and promotion for that dreaming device. This device is not real, so i hope you not need an explanation how it works or how creators manage all of this

Well I could tell from the marketing that we weren’t going to find out what was causing it, cause who cares? Any reason they give would be dumb. It went with the Groundhog Day approach. Haven’t seen it so I don’t know if it’s good or not

Just saw this movie and i liked it, right after it i saw Godzilla and its on my top 3 My nit pick with Dream Scenario is that for an A24 film it didnt really feel like a complete A24 project, this is the rare occassion where i hope Nic Cage can be nominated for Best Actor because its one if the few moments we'll ever see him be this tamed compared to a lot of other movies, I'd give this movie maybe an 8 out of 10 and Godzilla Minus One like 8.5 or 9/10
Hi John! I think we went to the same showing (I've just been too shy to ever say hi, I've seen you a few times here). But yeah, I heard the movie was funny but the theater only laughed a handful of times. I was super disappointed!
I saw it today I loved it so much I can’t believe you didn’t like it. It was super funny and investing and I was connected to all the characters and I loved the changes in tone. I felt that although it covered a lot of things like you said, they all felt connected so even though it was a lot of things it felt like one big topic to me and it succeeded. Really hope this gets some nominations.
I haven't watched it and normally a 92% on RT says it's really good. But it's interesting to see someone in that possible 8% who didn't like the movie. It sucks if you REALLY loved that movie but when u dnt have any opinion about it yet. It's a very unusual thing to see.

Nic Cage is enjoyable, very interesting concept about dreams, loved Michael Cera, BUT the second half nearly lost me yet I understood the direction and still kept watching. I totally get what John thinks about Dream Scenario, especially the topics they tried to juggle around, and I still had a good time.

That would absolutley drive me nuts, even if its not really the point of the movie, write some quick kinda reasonable idea why and then get to your points, to leave it blank is lazy story tellling.
Honestly John, huge fan and don’t listen to the hate on Silent Night, I honestly personally don’t get all the hate and vitriol directed towards the movie, as I personally enjoyed it and thought the “silent” gimmick that people keep pointing out as to why it’s the worst movie of 2023, I actually believe for the type of movie it is, it’s actually a strength, my cousin and I both saw it a couple hours ago and we both came out really enjoying it, so I don’t really understand all the fuss about the movie. But, as always with cinema your mileage may vary on this one, and I can only speak for my cousin and I and we both really enjoyed it, I personally don’t get all the hatred but, hey as you say all film is subjective but, I feel the film is overtly shit on, at least that’s my personal opinion

I just don't think the idea of "cancel culture" should be explored in movies. Maybe that's just me but I am kind of sick and tired of this phrase being thrown around all the time and if a movie is about that then I don't think I'd enjoy it.

Was I the only one very distracted how crappy the theater put up that Napoleon poster in the back? All crumbled up and everything
This was literally my favorite movie of 2023. I saw it back in October.
