I had a prefab log home delivered from NC to CO. Arrived after spending the night in WY. It was to be unloaded in a remote place. I took as far as I could and a backhoe got me the rest of the way.
Well now you see what I do for a living. That is one of my crane crews that I work with everyday. Sometimes we get put into the situation you find yourself in here but it's what I've done for 35-years and prefer to do over hauling freight. The hardest thing to do is delivering bridge segments to jobsites where we are 16'-ft wide mostly to right side, and we have to back up to a mile or more on tight two-lane roads both straight and curvy with construction equipment on both sides and we do this by ourselves blind-sided with no assistance all the way to the crane. But what you are doing in this video is what I do everyday in my truck which is much larger than yours and mind you I only have one human eye as I lost my right eye in an explosion in 1986 and here I am in 2017 and still doing what I do best.
Would've liked to have seen the load removed and how u got out of there. That drop was definitely not for rookies. Narrow steep road, lots of mud, and a dozen pull. New truck? That would've been a pain is right. Truckers like u make it come together though. Good job!
Can't say enough Dan except for such a great show for us at home. I feel your pain! Not all realize that when they hook up a chain it's not to an old truck. It's my office, it's my home, it's my wife's enemy cuz I spend more time with her then I do with the love of my life. I left the industry 9 years ago but I have to admit I do remember the great times and the bad... but I have to think.... All the good people I met along the way keeps me thinking I should be back!! Take care brother and thank you for the video you took spending time with your girl! We all need to do that more often. From Canada I hope to meet up some day. See you in country!!!
another great video by the one and only super trucker Dan and I am glad that you didn't mess anything up on your truck as all be waiting on the next one be safe out there on your adventure from Paris Texas God bless you and thank you for keeping American rolling
Great video Dan. I am used to that mud/dozer set up. Still don't like having my truck in that mess though. I won't do it with this new Pete. Safe travels.
Ahh yes, muddy job sites we meet again. Been there many times Dan, I know the feeling, they suck! I don't miss that part of trucking for sure. Hauled many a load of roofing shingles out of Wilmington,DE and Toronto, ON. Pretty easy but heavy. Take care and be safe.
Phone masts always take you to interesting places, I ended up on a mountain in the far north of Scotland with one. At least it wasn't raining on you. Don't worry about your muddy wheels until you've tipped your roof shingles. ;-)
Good video Dan , just keep your invoice for the tower job and turn them down . You have a great truck and those hillbillies don't have any respect for nice iron .Hi Kallie you little twirp.
Another good video Dan that looked like a very rough job site tight area and dirty. Passed my Texas CDL hope I don't have to deal with sites like that until I have some experience. Hope the rest of your week goes easier.
wow u stopped in pittsboro I remember that was where I met u back in early April when I had my load of wire coils and u picked up steel bars at the sdi across the street from the loves in Pittsboro and we spoke for an hr hopefully we could meet one day again be safe man!!
one tip :) you can rig the suspension on the truck so you dump the air in your last drive axle. that transfer wight to the other one giving you much more traction. need to have the power divider locked of course :) when slippery, icey and so on. much help. why its not a factory option in america as here i dont know. but a shop should not use much time getting a valve put in :)
I worked delivering lumber to job sites and the Customer would always say "we've had trucks up her before" and when you get up to the site I found out they really were not being truthful.Got used to stopping a 1/2 mile down the road and walking it down first. I feel your unhappiness Dan. That trip up that road brought back memories.
Here in the UK we get a lot of rain and a lot of mud on building, farm and industrial sites. I suppose we just get used to it and don't think a lot about getting loaded or emtyed and sometimes getting stuck and towed on these sites. Some of the city guy's complain like hell if they have to go off road. Thanks for most interesting videos.
Bro, hat's off to you. i had a similar experience. hauled 125k pounds of soy sauce to a solidification pit up a landfill in winter. guy came into my lane half way up the climb. i had to stop and couldn't get going again. huge dozer had to come yank me up the rest of the way. freaked me out pretty good.
That actually looked like fun a bit different than your average everyday running down the road.. Although that's coming from a country boy who used to go out and play in the mud everyday with my buddies in our 4x4's.
And you thought you left the Army driving behind. Construction sites are not quite as bad as exercise driving. I was in Combat Engineers and we had use dozers to haul in the bridging equipment quite often. If they told you what the site was like, you'd never go there.
I wish I could find someone who likes a challenge enough to teach me more about these computers and cameras, I really would love to share some of the INSANE freaking places they find to want to drill an oil well!!! LOL !!!! Good video Dan, stay safe out there everybody.😎😎😎. PS, I just started messing with these computers in January. I just turned 62 and never messed with these things much unless wife was right there to keep me from throwing the damn thing through the window, she now laughed at me trying to figure it out and most of the time,. FAILING MISERABLY !!!!😤😤😤👹
can go you one better got to the job site and they were pulling one owner operator through the mud, the dozer was a D8, mud was a high as the frame rails. they got him on solid ground, the fuel tanks were torn, lost all his fuel. air and electric torn, tires flat and the guy on the dozer says go in as far as you can and we'll hook up and drag you in and out. told them none of us are going in, he said he'll call the company we are leased to, our company told them if the drivers don't want to go in we don't want our trailers in either. we all pulled 4 axle lowboys, the consignee was mad they unloaded us on the road. our company sued for damages to tractor and trailer. thanks Dan, pull toy here.
I don't know how you do it. I ran flatbed for many years and hated the short runs. The least I had to climb around to strap etc, the better. I always looked for the longest trips.
That is not the place for a big truck like that ! ...... When my father and I were running our own trucks (6 wheelers with cranes on them),we had a saying......If the truck can't get in and out of the site under its own steam, then it's not going there in the first place ! ..... Most sites were pretty good usually tho'.....
Dang, that blacktop road just kept getting smaller,I hate to have to get pulled, especially through mud, that means you gotta spend money at Streaking Beacon.
Well I'm for sure am Old Timer Flat bed O&O. So thing in 80's, 90's, and up to 2010 were different. Ya for sue ! But that little mud you got pulled through ? Hell that was nothing at all ! Medium tough at best ! But! that was then and this is now. You do get paid a lot more per loaded mile than we did. Anyway like your breakdowns, Ya for sure got a brain ! Which in my days there were few of he he . God Bless and wish you the very best !
Good for you man!! I took and passed my CDL test on Thurs 6/8/17 after 4 weeks in truck driving school. Most nerve racking test I ever took. I'm excited about what lies ahead. It was time for a change.

Hey Dan wished you had shown us how the off load the cell towers and how you got back to the main road. Love watching your videos.
Those multi stops in Houston almost looked better then that run. Nice clip Dan !!
c'mon that wasn't too bad

Don’t you just love the way they don’t tell you about crap like that till you are on the job site.
If you had one of those new Freightliner Cascadia's all the aero package would be mangled.

True statement. But my old 89 R-Model would have liked that hill. Camelback, 12 speed, 4:42 rears.
I'll stay with my 389 for now.

Thanks for watching
That's nothing. You're missing 2' of mud and half torn up trees and tire chains. Then a D6. Skinny pedal on the right. Push it.
I did that in northern PA once but I let them take my trailer and use their own rig, cause the only way up was a dozer
yea its been pretty wet here in ohio. Rained here overnight-not sure how much rain we got

Hi Dan, put a bug shield on your nose, hoods look plain jane without them.
I have thought the same. There is some nice U.S. flag look'n ones!
Whats your take on e-logs?
Why were you losing so much air?
first yes first time since I been watching lol made my night I'm happy
+Wilberto Escalera
Congratulations and thanks for watching

If your truck were damaged going into that mess, you should be able to recover from the contractors insurance.
Yes, I think due to the job requirement (of their request), their insurance would kick in.
Just curious, do you have any recourse if your truck does get damaged traversing work sites like that? I'm sure having the camera footage helps..
Bottom line,, it makes life interesting,, that's for sure..
Thanks for your vids,, I (we) really enjoy them.
Cheers
It sure would be nice to have a house back in there.
Coulda been worse. Coulda been raining.
😮 I know how much you dislike having your truck off-road 🚚.

Have you ever heard of V - Boards, a flatbed without proper equipment.
So Dan, why do you have Illinois license plates if you live in Arizona. Writing from Chicago.
Great video
Hope things are better, never seen you so upset (got real quiet). Guess no more cell tower parts! Do you run or are you allowed to run into California ? Take care.
+Steven Murata
I was concentrating so hard I forgot to talk to the camera. I don't run to Cali my trucks to old.
Thanks for watching
If you were in a NEW truck and you refused to be towed through the mud (WHO wouldn't?) then what happens?
not sure
Is it just me, or should the air should've built up by now
2 things that make me laugh when the dispatcher tells me 1) there is a loading dock 2) someone will be there to help you unload. 1) there is no loading dock, everything is coming off with a hand cart and 2) there is no one to be found to help, so your on your own. good times.
Get some bigger corner boards
What was the deal with the low air alarm? I was afraid you had torn a fitting or air line when you went off roading.
coming down that hill and when I set the brakes i used up a lot of air that is why the alarm came om
Thanks for Watchng
I know nothing about trucking but want to be an owner operator. I’m saving money and doing my research. That being said I understand no one cares about ur equipment except yourself. Not all money is good money if there’s too much risk.
I would like to know what kind of camera setup you use.
Mark Miles @supertruckerdan. You didn’t answer this important question sir.
Dan if I had a new truck I'd half to say no on that one over to that job site who take the blame it wouldn't be you it be them for not telling you what the conditions was
At least it wasn't up and back down a West Virginia mountain along a coal/logging road.
+Jody Coleman
That doesn't sound like fun
Thanks for watching
Jody Coleman those could get nasty especially in a truck that overhests no power anything and overloaded.
What made you loose air pressure so quickly and not recover for such a long time?
+Gerry Moersdorf
I had to set the brakes a couple of times and when I was being towed I could not rev up the engine to build Air pressure
Thanks for watching
that load should have extra pay, being towed around like that
+Andrew Allan Guitars
