I love your 5 window Millner fiberglass hot rod!
🤣
or Martin Sheen's "California Kid"
@@humberto1988 i thinks thats a great little movie
Fun fact: If a car can do the quarter mile in 9 seconds or less, you could drop a cannonball from 1/4 mile high above the finish line and drop it when the car left the starting line, and the car would beat the cannonball to the quarter mile.
😂 " AND NOW FOR TODAY'S USELESS PIECE OF INFORMATION!"
Just kidding, it's a fun fact.
If the car is more than 13.5 feet long, it wouldn't make it. If you ever try it, be in a short car...lol
I can tell simply by your wiring you've been planning this a long time. Beautiful, intelligent build. Awesome results. Can't wait for the evolution of farkles, finish and paint.
Paint?
The F-Rod is the coolest and most well done project car on Motor Trend. The parts chosen and the attention to detail is absolutely perfect, (anyone attempting to wire a car should watch how this car was wired).
Freiberger really is a genius when it comes to preserving and respecting automotive history, choosing the right parts for the build, and a vision for what the final car should look like to just be cool and fast.
David,your triple-shutoff-thru a relay-main shut off is pure genius...Awesome!!!
It is nice to have the push button on the firewall behind the motor like that too. The triple shut-off switch setup will keep thieves away as well.
I’m so glad that they’re doing these recaps of episodes/builds on UA-cam again.
There's nothing "old man" about that hot rod. These rods were old when I came of age (80's), but were always and will always be cool.
Exactly, I'm 29 and saving every penny for a model A or a 32 three window!
@@barneymiller7894 Good luck and I hope you get one. Timeless classic.
@@ForeverDownByLaw Thanks 👍
Street rod? That looks all hot rod to me.
I’m 35 and couldn’t agree more. I personally lean more towards rally/drifting and this is one seriously badass hot rod!!
The wiring segment was great! Very informative and it's the only the 2nd time I've seen someone wire up the battery disc switch with relays that way.
I love it. It has actual tires, it's carbureted, and it's beautiful. Of course I'm an old guy at 63. But this is a car I would love to have.
I’m so glad you guys are back roadkill makes me feel like I came home from school on a rainy day and had hot cocoa
Harden up bro.
@karenthomson9749 soundin like a real Karen.
Thank you guys for kicking my out of the motor trend world, After 10 years of supporting you and waiting for every episode.
THIS! Makes me so angry. Many many years at following motortrend and roadkill and many other shows now cant see anything even with paying money... Yeah nice.
@@Fileguru i agree!
@@greghaa that Doesnt make me Any less offended or pissed off, its the principal, it’s fkn rude
@@madeiniceland7459 I hear you. I get it. No doubt this is about the $. It always is.
@@greghaa i agree, its most likely some money and legal stuff there dealing with, it might be fixed when the lawyers figure it out:)
Hands down the best content on TV or YT! It’s always informative and entertaining and helpful! Most of all, it’s awesome!
Ah, this reminds me how much I loved Roadkill Garage when I could watch it in Germany! Bring back at least your originals, I´m happy to pay the same as before! Don´t you guys like to earn money? Or did the discovery channel put you in some scammy contract? It is incredibly frustrating to be honest...
The HR on demand press release stated that laws changed and they were shutting off out of US / Canada subscriptions. A non HR related channel located in a Euro country stated that they have to pay taxes to the US and their country of origin for any YT profits. I'm betting this applies to non YT content too and might be why HR shut off out of US / Canada subscriptions.
@@bobroberts2371 Interesting - but if that would generally apply to US made content, YT or not, there wouldn´t be any US shows availlable over here anymore...but from streaming services, normal TV networks to Payperview there is tons of US content availlable and they are still able to make some good profit out of it.
That change of law would most certainly apply to them as well.
I get that some networks in Europe own the rights to some of the additionary content they offered but that shouldn´t affect their original productions.
I have to look into that whole tax thing...if it is affecting US content that hard, I wonder why MT on demand is seeming to be about the only platform having those kind of issues with bringing their content to Europe.
Also when I could watch it in Australia!
Exactly this
Well said! Absolutely annoyed to have lost access from UK, and have it replaced with the poor Discovery option.....least I get Discovery free from mobile supplier but it is months behind
5:95, that's great guys!
This is so far the best video I've ever seen on moder trend
Really? Yet another Ford with a Chevy engine is the best video you've ever seen on Motor Trend? Really?!
Finally! A period correct Old School Hot Rod with modern technology. I don't even care that it's powered by a Chevy. I'd love to see this thing win it's class on the power tour.
Also, yooooo that snarly howl when you stab the throttle, beautiful music to my ears.
The planning and thought process on the wiring is mind blowing to say the least
Sorry about your back David! I remember seeing you jump that wagon and thinking "Thats gonna leave a mark"
Sweeeeeeeeeeet, only needs a Ford mill but she’s sweet. Really like the tool box mount, I’m going to use this idea in my 29 Coupe. Thanks for doing a real hot rod. Here’s to you David 🍻🍻👍👍👍
Why put a Ford motor in it?
He wants to go fast junk ford engines can’t do that
@@Wanous-hv7zo - you mean you need a complete aftermarket engine to run what a stock coyote would I think the trash here is garbage motors
@@Wanous-hv7zo People who stick Chevy engines in everything are cancer in the hot rodding world. They're lazy, boring, and uncreative. They're the sort of people who painted by numbers as a kid and now believe lizard people are real as adults.
@@barrysnell6775 do you not understand why people do that? Chevy engines make reliable power for less money. That is purely it
I think you have mastered the art of hot rodding. What a cool build
Not happy that I’ve paid a subscription in Australia and can’t keep watching new episodes of my favourite show……. The old episodes never get old but when you know every next word davo is gonna say it starts to get to your head 😂😂 it would be nice if we could view it in aus
I can relate to the blown out discs. I blew out three discs yanking up by the ports a pair of Boss 351 heads. The discs sounded like popping giant knuckles when they blew out.
yep hurts don't it
These guys are geniuses at what they do.
That intake hat looks mint. What an awesome unit!!!
Awesome set up, add a solenoid shift button that is triggered by a msd box to shift to second. It's a nice. It would let you keep both hands on the wheel during your pulls
Way To Go GRANDPA
DIGGIN THE 31 FORD DAVID F my favorite!
I’m building a 32 Chevy coupe 5 window. I really love the way you did the wiring and I’m thinking I wanna do the wiring the same way. And the way everything in the trunk looks great I wanna do the same. And the toolbox is genius. Loved the video. I’m always looking for anything and info on ways to go one this car just because it’s a full build. Thx for a great video. Keep up the great work.
One of my favorite cars boys. I was suprised at the flip flops on the first test run, until I realised , thats what I do ! She's a runner with a Dulcich tune for sure.
My favorite hot rod, a Model A coupe with a '32 grill shell. Gotta love it.
in my opinion this is the coolest build on roadkill !!!
who ever built it , it’s a cool model A , kind of reminiscent to the hot rods of yesteryear … and agree on the latter
Henry Ford is going to come back from the grave to haunt you for the engine you put in there. Awesome car and episode.
yea i kind of wish they stuck with ford for the motor, like a 460 or something, but oh well its still a snazzy rig either way
I can't wait till we see some episodes in drag week or some drag racing with mike and blasphemi. Love the coupe Dave i enjoyed this video now gonna watch the episode on motor trend
One if the better episodes yet.
Nice ! !!!
45 degrees it's so cold! Freezing! Must be California!
Dulcich is the real hero of almost all these builds.
Hey Motortrend when we gonna see more roadkill and other motortrend shows on discovery plus? You do know you have a fanbase outside the USA right? Need more effort here
I watch it on motortrend on demand in Canada... Wait and get a deal on Christmas for 2$/month....
Even if you don’t wait for a deal it’s only $45/year. That’s less than 2 tickets to a movie + popcorn. And with the subscription you get TONS of other auto content.
@@m.andre-l.5970 You're still in the allowable zone, no Motortrend for anyone in Europe and Asia etc that isn't north/south/central America and Canada
@@jbro507 that's why Motortrend is so brilliant and the only shows I watch is car shows and being in England watching old American junk goin fast was amazing but then Motortrend screws us because politics
@@harleyrobertson73 Probably need to get a VPN, pick a location and watch what you want.
Great little car. I want to do something like that to run in the low 10s and learn to drag race!
Excellent Build
Ah yes.... bulkhead fittings. I'm a BIIIG bulkhead fitting guy. Absolutely love the way they accomplish 3 things at once. I use dash 10 to pass my entire wiring harness through the firewall as well. I use them for my throttle cable, everything. I love the uniformity. I bent up an aluminum box that covers them all and creates a really clean look. Rivnuts hold it to the firewall. That box also holds my catch can.
Freiburger, I am sooooooo jealous! Who has more fun than you and Steve?
The 31/32 build on the MT channel is a good primer for anyone thinking about putting a lot of power in a vintage car. The 5.00 bucks a month is a super deal.
We need top 10 funny moments of roadkill garage
THIS is not what I think of as "Roadkill", definetly not the regular shenanegans and unsafe rigs. Excellence!
Ya , Plus it's expensive and won't be comfortable to drive very far. To Drags and back home , maybe. You only live once.
One of my favorite episodes 👍🏼👍🏼
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I LOVE MY HOT ROD FAMILY!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!
Oh, that thing is nasty. Nice to see a full episode on youtube.
😂 you built a great car this time. You are amazing 💘💘
It’s like watching the Mona Lisa be painted a true piece of beauty.
I LOVE IT!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Followed Sam’s work on the car, really Awesome, as well as Dulcich. Great content as usual. Thank you
Awesome ford friberger keep up the awesome work keep it shiny side up and greasy side down
Nice set up guys plain and simple,
The tool box is one of the most ingenious things I’ve ever seen. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Man I really would love to watch it here in Austria still...great content
At a loss for words....just wow...
I Love You Guys!!! Iʻve been watching Roadkill for quite some timenow. Amazing!!!
With A Lot of Aloha,
Mama
Awesome car, has to be one of my favourite Road Kill cars.....
This is the best of what you call the best badasses ever was
one of if not the best engineered hot rod.
Pinstriping a 31 ford in 1962 is the equivalent of doing a 93 today
Remote crank button...freaking awsome
I feel for you. I've had a herniated disc with extruded fragments since 1988. Fusion w/fixation in 1991. 32 years later and it's still causing me pain on a daily basis. Take care of your back now or you'll regret it later!
... genuine Henry Ford steel. 👌
Which is really nice but steel body replica is just as good and for 25k for a bare 5 window body from united Pacific is fantastic or a roadster rolling chassis with a bare body for 22k is awesome
Did I miss where the car goes 8.80's ? Love the build but want to see the next episode on this car.
Man can't wait to see this car finished and running
My favourite episode, I'm a muscle car guy by heart but this thing is waayyy cool ( and waayy lighter than my Challenger 😁 ) I want one !!
Best build so far
I was r&r one of those air-cooled trannies I did the usual leave a couple of bolts in it before I threw the Jack under it well that bell housing with the holes in it it broke and almost landed on my arm
Excellent.
What ever happened to this car? Will there be another episode?
I have a '34 three window glass car I was trying to decide what to do with. I think I'll try to duplicate this car but just a bit milder. I have a fresh 1957 New Yorker factory dual quad 392 Hemi ( a little over 400HP) that I'll throw in it.
Nicest Build Yet
Mr Russell was from Oregon Wolf Creek
He found model T's nobody wanted put aircraft piston in 2 transmission together. Found Oregon trail pistol buried under tree close to house.
F-Rod vs. Blasphemi. Would love to see it
Nice car!!
I love those 1932, five-window, Millner coupes!!!
(don't @ me. I see the visor. I know it's a Model A)
True drag racer David F
you guys are beasts. 45 degrees with shorts on
This is so freaking awesome!!!
That tranny pan is really cool do think under the high torque and chaise twist could cause the coolant rib to crack and leak coolant into the tranny fluid really cool part I think you hold the record for most expensive tranny pan lol wicked car
Just to nitpick you to death, the pin you pulled to release your toolkit was neither a PiP (which stands for Push in; Pull), nor a cotter pin. It was an R-pin! Nice ride Freiburger!
Nice! Happy for ya D..
This build was WAY more big buck than I anticipated!
Not to Fret. Any build done Right always is.. Do a careful build plan and budget. ThenTriple Budget amt, Now you're close . But tell no one what you spent. Build time can be done kwik , if you never sleep..........Being young helps a bunch too.
Beautiful awesome car I can appreciate everything about it
That's a great car David!!!
Great build. I was hoping to rewatch the segment about the fuse panel, but it looks like it was edited out. Hoping to learn the brand of the panel you used. I need it for my build. Thank you.
ha..45 degrees isnt cold...im watching and its 6 here in northeast pa.
Hella-sweet!!!!
Perfect specimen for the chevy 632 if you ask me
Don't forget that big AGM Odyssey battery. That's all I use. Far superior to Optima. Which are now hecho en Mexico.
Good thing we have Steve D there to scream everything were watching.
Nice one ma man.
Inspiration for me!!!! Thanks!!
Freiburger cracks me up. Always wearing his safety shorts and either flip flops or sneakers but puts on a “safety” glove while using the bench grinder. Safety third haha
Very Very Cool!!! That is a badass car and my favorite of all the roadkill and roadkill garage vehicles. Congratulations on your achievement!
Ya'll realize this car and Finnegan's Blashemi are gonna race ??? Don't know when or where but heard Mike say it on his channel(ytube) when talkin bout his 1100HP Hemi build !!! Just a heads up !!!
@@wrongwayroger2519 I heard that from the same place. And I’m looking forward to seeing it!
Love this car
I'm guessing the F in F-Rod is for Freiburger? Anyway it's a nice Hotrod!!! I love that you did something that's all naturally aspirated. FYI & Safety tip for ya, Freiburger Never grind Aluminum on a grinding wheel the soft Aluminum will clog the wheel and it can Explode!!! Now they do make a grinding wheel just for Aluminum but I couldn't really tell if that one you were using was one so be Careful and use PPE Too. Cheers.
That's pretty cool man !
Love the F-Rod!
what a beauty
