    As a horizon main, if you do not do 784 tap strafes per fight, and 491 wall bounces, you will get lasered even though you have one of the smallest hit boxes. Take it from a professional plat 4, it’s what you need to do.

    I would say understanding lurches should be above tap strafing most people learn to tap strafe before momentum shift or pito strafing (the clip you show from gruic), the mokey’s “superjump” clip was showing off hyperjump, also the explanation that you gave for mantle jump was the first method, later thevilinside develop another method a bit more complicated input-wise but way more consistent to perform

    Wallhopping is definitely not an average player mechanic. The logic behind making it work defies conventional thinking and you need to get the distance to start the slide, the timing of the jump, and coordinating your movement key inputs to effectively do a wall jump. The average player cannot do these.

    • @zsideswapper6718

      @@-m0d0n Or then you just don't have an explanation. That small delay that you have from running to firing is insignificant 99% of the time. Auto sprint doesn't do anything when side strafing and when you're moving straight you're running or already shooting anyway.
      Good players, especially movement players have their gun holstered when they're not shooting so theres often gonna be a small delay anyway if they're not fully expecting a fire fight.

    Heavily disagree with the things you sayed about auto sprint...There is exactly 1 downside to auto sprint and that is that you can't inspect while running...other than that there are only advantages:
    - you are faster (auto sprit kinda presses the sprint button at the perfect time for you)
    - 1 less button to press while doing other crazy movement shit
    Extreme Movements tryhards like treeree always play with auto sprint enabled for these reasons... and recently even m&k apex pros who definitely are in the top 10 when it comes to movement among the pros started to realize these advantages and turned auto sprint on (e.g. NRG Nafen)...so unless this makes them "noobs" I think that speaks against the things you sayed XD.
    A lot of pros just think that you can't walk if you have auto sprint enabled...but since some of them finally lern that you still can there is not much left that speaks against auto sprint other that "being used to it"...

    • @ottr
      @ottr  2 роки тому +1

      and floatjump too, honestly I disagree with alot of movement tech ottr tried to put in a different "movement level".
      I think rather than saying things like "players on level x can do this tech and that tech", it would be more ideal to imagine movement tech is like iceberg graph with tap strafing/wall bouncing on the tip of it.
      The deeper you research the more you find out about different movement tech, such as walljumping on door slide or float jumping.
      Putting "zipline to wallbounce" as a god movement tier is pretty weird for me, because what makes someone a movement god is the amount of movement tech + consistency of someone who can use them accordingly.
      Someone like faide for example, is very consistent with his slide jump and super jump, but he's not fatigure jump or mantle jump monster like treeree is. There's also guape's revenant specific tech, where does it belong in this level then?

      I got to admit that lurch still confused me even after both zweek’s videos still don’t know why appparently the lurch mechanics doesn’t care about the keys you’re holding but for the direction of both keys combined but in some scenarios where you can create a sideways lurch with a diagonal lurch then cancelling the forward lurch with a backward one but both the forward and the backwards can’t happen in the same time frame, like the first step of tap jump (I think I doesn’t have a name for it) or the mantle jump to roof of the shaft without tap strafing

    • @Data1us
      @Data1us 2 роки тому

      @@gyaku4106 Yup its the same, only difference is the max momentum cap in apex is only as fast as you can run. So in titanfall we use air strafing and lurchless air strafing all the time as a core movement mechanic to gain speed. Where in apex you use it mostly to maintain speed. Bhopping with lurchless air strafing is i guess just ingrained into how i bhop from tf2. Def try it out, perhaps it will help, either way its still a cool little thing to have in your you bag of tricks.

      Just browse through youtube for apex movement guides and you'll find plenty. Mokeysniper is like a godfather when it comes to apex movement content so you might wanna check his channels. If you use reddit there is a subreddit called "apex rollouts" that is purely focused on movement.
      R5reloaded (modded apex) is a great way to practise movement without other players.

  • @almond614

    I dont think that this is completely true (I mean the ranking for movement and I also think that otter misses a very important point). For example Fade does no fatigue bounces at all and so does Ace U but they are still considered movement gods because they're really good at a specific technique. Fade has the best possible timing for slidejumps and uses them like noone other is able to. Treeree is very good at chaining fatigue jumps and at getting more movement into the game. But in my opinion if you want to become good at movement, practice the basic slide jumps tapstrafewallbounces and superjumps and you can build up from that.
    "I dont fear the one who practiced 50 techniques 3 times... I fear the one who practiced 3 techniques 50 times"
    :)
