It’s like they were a band as teenagers and then grew out of it and became corporate professionals that still practice every Thursday and they’ve reached perfect harmony with eachother
I've seen many bands live and they rarely sound just the same as on radio or studio sound systems, those are highly doctored.Live has it's own sound because of equipment used, location and just the band itself, they have good gigs and bad ones just like you have good days and bad.So I don't put too much on live gigs.
Jim Gray Sorry Jim, but I strongly disagree. I, too, have seen many , many bands (I'm willing to bet a great deal more than you, simply because I graduated in "84" AND the fact that the 80's HAD the best, and widest variety of music- but that's another discussion) and to simply put it...if you suck live- you, SUCK. Period. In the 80's we called them, "one hit wonders", not "bands" LOL. This, of course, isn't just MY opinion- its Fact. If you suck live, you won't be around for long. With the exception of Guns N Roses, name 1 band who sucks live and has survived-well, actually...they DIDN'T survive , did they! Which only proves my point. I feel sorry for you Jim, no sarcasm- I really do. Because you live in a world where you can state ,"I don't put too much on live gigs" : ( Seriously, Jim...that makes me so sad I could cry.. Because with my generation ( or my "world") It is ALL about the LIVE gig's!! Bands weren't "just like you" and had "good days & bad days". No, Jim...they were fucking GOD'S. The 15-20 bucks we spent on a ticket came out of OUR pockets, that we had to EARN ourselves- that which would be coming from our beer & weed money! So you best just not be having a "good day"..you BETTER be ROCKIN' YOUR ASSES OFF! And they DID, Jim. I can't remember being disappointed even once! Just as good live as in studio- a many were even BETTER. Judas Priest, for example, were such a band- go check them out live Jim, you'll see! Or , Scorpions...Motley Crue, Ted Nugent ,Cheap Trick , Pink Floyd....
Speaking of highly doctored; there are numerous vocals, drums, keyboards, etc that are pre-recorded here. One bass guitar, a couple of drums, and two singers did not produce this result.
the remixed version with a heavier bass line and some extra synthisized, sounds is featured on the HBO MAX series "EUPHORIA". iTS AN episonde towards the end of season 1. the remix is even more amazing in my opinion.
Either the recording equipment or the amplification or mixing seemed off; it seemed kind of too subdued and flat. Some of it, to be fair, is that they are singing live and that is much harder to harmonize obviously, still, it seemed like the sound wasn't quite right. Nonetheless; pretty damn stellar and yet chillax as well for a live performance. The woman singing has an incredible live voice. They do pretty good at projecting during the chorus and she does in most of the lyrics. Also, the drummer does well at keeping the rhythm. I'm no music expert but that's what I hear from this version. Would love to see em live!
It sounds good studio live version (whatever you want to call it) But I've been hearing from about of friends that there actually pretty bad and not sounding as good as they do in the song Don't mean to ruin anyone's favorite band I still like them but just don't think they do as good live
That's the problem (maybe not a problem but a characteristic) with today's music genre. It's more about "sound making" (synthetic/technology-aided) and less "music playing". Many bands are lead by house music jockeys or even sound engineers instead of the traditional guitar or keyboard players. I enjoy it as new "sound" keeps coming out enriching our ears. But I do appreciate it when someone can flat out sing or play an instrument. For example, Lady Gaga's tribute to "Sound of Music" at the Oscars reminded me that behind the flashy costume and dance moves, she's actually a superb singer.
They look exactly how I imagined someone singing these creepy ass lyrics would look lol on another note I thought this would’ve been the perfect song to be featured in the Netflix series “YOU” P.S. I’m addicted to it!!!!
They performed this song on the Seth Meyers show in summer 2014. That performance was on the NBC website for a while, but was then taken down. Too bad. Because that performance was excellent.
it's great, but how much of this is tracked on? extra bassline, synths, drums? there's one shot of someone's hand hitting a drumpad so maybe they have extra musicians hidden in the bushes
Hadn't heard this song for YEARS and somehow had forgotten about it. I haven't a clue why because it's waaay better than most of the shite being (ahem) "produced" today.
+Noé Neszvecskó You're right, but its not the song. I was referring to the performers ;-) There is a little early 90s vibe that the 80s weren't quite gone.
God the guy cant fucking sing, he barely carries it to the chorous where the background vocals kick in. Edit; Read in the comments that this isnt the original singer of the song.
I heard the bass and thats all i wanted to hear over and over again
Wow, amazingly good live! Reminds me of the live performance of the Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star...so good live...
Sick bass! Love it!
Come out with a new album. I love this group.
So creative and a unique sound. Something lost in most of today's music.
Best live performance of this awesome tune! I wish I could download it.
They sound even better live!!!
VASTLY UNDERRATED!! Big Data is just stunningly good! I have not heard anything from Big Data I don't like.
It’s like they were a band as teenagers and then grew out of it and became corporate professionals that still practice every Thursday and they’ve reached perfect harmony with eachother
The bassist is Chappo's drummer Zac Cowell. He's a great multi talented musician. And a kick ass human being.
THANK YOU for writing his name. I have to see more from him. This video and most of this song obscures him and the drummer
I wish I had a friend like her
Jesus, great performance and so, so cool- AWESOME
I absolutely love this song! Thank you
Love it!
I 💗 Joywave & Big Data 💗
Dang son! I can dig it! "Nobody's listenin' when we're alone.."
🔥🔥🔥
🤘💯

Hate to tell you this honey but I'm older than you and seen many bands also.i'm not trying to get in a pissing contest but i know of what I speak.
Speaking of highly doctored; there are numerous vocals, drums, keyboards, etc that are pre-recorded here. One bass guitar, a couple of drums, and two singers did not produce this result.
@@6000cs I'm glad someone said it. I especially love the miming to a studio-produced handclap.

love this better than the recorded single!
+Oscar Sevilla same :3
Oscar Sevilla WAY BETTER then the recorded version.. WAY BETTER!!!!
probably because 90% of it is prerecorded. but it sounds great, nevertheless!
@@serjherman oh. I thought they were playing everything live haha.
the remixed version with a heavier bass line and some extra synthisized, sounds is featured on the HBO MAX series "EUPHORIA". iTS AN episonde towards the end of season 1. the remix is even more amazing in my opinion.
Cool
It's good to know they actually are talented.
Yes James Bond!!!!
Who is the woman singing?

Who are the band members here?
I finally figured it out! He wants to be David Byrne from Talkin Heads. It's ok, I do too!
Do they have any other good tunes?
Check out Snowed In by them.
Mike Glendinning yes of course check youtube for Big Data - The Business Of Emotion
Thanks. How are you?
I’m surprised this song wasn’t a big hit. I would like to see somebody maybe re-record it with a little different production
Uhhh it went gold and platinum and was #1 on the Alt charts.
I thought they had at least 15 different versions.
who is the chick?
Lizzy Ryan.
this is one of the greatest songs ever written, only a true REBEL WILL RELATE. ITS NOT ABOUT YOU .
😏🤫
It sounds good studio live version (whatever you want to call it)
But I've been hearing from about of friends that there actually pretty bad and not sounding as good as they do in the song

It's bad because Joywave is the one singing in the studio version, not these 2.
I prefer this to the overly filtered Joywave version.
Bugwars
She Sounds So Much Better Than! Him! It Could Do WITHOUT HIM! He Kinda Ruins it!
Lady singer is too dangerous
Imagine this song and band as a James Bond 007 opening sequence! It has all the elements of a great Bond theme song! think about it!
Whoa! Excellent idea!!
So right!!
Dont tell me what to do
andy Indeed
I think it would be better at the start of the end credits.
They look exactly how I imagined someone singing these creepy ass lyrics would look lol on another note I thought this would’ve been the perfect song to be featured in the Netflix series “YOU” P.S. I’m addicted to it!!!!
Or Dark Web
Or any social media horror film
Little did you know these aren't the people singing in the album version... its joywave lead singer Dan Armbruster
Such a sick performance! Love the energy throughout everyone in this group. It's so cool to watch.
This song in just energetically addicting. You can’t help but to tap your foot. The bassline is absoloutly amazing.
love this version and the studio version. It's so addictive and DANGEROUS!!!!
Vnuhjhyuolmjgt

Indeed.
Wilkis hooks work like drugs.
Consuelo Cruz I shall say no more... You summarized it right!
Consuelo Cruz
It's a great song! I agree, they killed it on that rooftop! Great vid, I wish I was at that show!
Female Voice! OUTSTANDING!
she's hot...the dude is distracting...
that bassline is too quiet in this mix!

and you compare it to the drums and it's crazy how they mixed this!
Who is that gorgeous brunette with the Australian style?
Agree
Gets better every time I watch it- has to be one of the greatest, coolest performances ever👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Love her voice and the slow-mo drum breakdown
Great song she's cute as fuck .... middleman
Absolutely the best version out there
Best live version or best version period? I prefer the version with Jen Wassner.
Olivia Krash’s version is good too
Who is playing this in 2020?!
Very impressive track, also the live clips sooooooo attractive .
For a live song, not bad at all!
it's like they know....
It's a wicked video of a live performance but the sound engineer needs to bump up the vocals a bit :)
More cowbell
That girl is sooooo cute !!!
@Ronnie Hill jajaja
Dude, shut up,
Right on!
Wauuuu.yeaaa.
They performed this song on the Seth Meyers show in summer 2014. That performance was on the NBC website for a while, but was then taken down. Too bad. Because that performance was excellent.
I like it better when its the female lead singer, like on the record...
Great song, never heard of the band till yesterday at a friends and was hooked on this song right away.
That girl has bangs...Prety good singer...
Amazing but Olivia Krash version is even better
bass line is....................... dangerous!
it's great, but how much of this is tracked on? extra bassline, synths, drums? there's one shot of someone's hand hitting a drumpad so maybe they have extra musicians hidden in the bushes
So Funky. Best song I have heard in a long time.
So good! My Lord, I love her dimple!
Olivia Krash version is even better
That lady is so hot!!!
Who is the woman singer? I cannot find a name anywhere for a female singer associated with this song.
L1ZY
Christ, this is such a cool performance
The band is great but she is a jewel. Great voice and beautiful. Great song as well.
Hadn't heard this song for YEARS and somehow had forgotten about it. I haven't a clue why because it's waaay better than most of the shite being (ahem) "produced" today.
Like the song but, hang on a sec... Hello? 1980s? You want your everything back?
Roger that.
+Noé Neszvecskó You're right, but its not the song. I was referring to the performers ;-) There is a little early 90s vibe that the 80s weren't quite gone.
+Noé Neszvecskó It's the most 80s thing I ever heard.
I like 80/90 kinda songs ☺️
Would have loved to see a synth being played. But still a wonderful performance
❤
Massive 10er.
guy on the left looks like a mix of Frank Fritz from american pickers and Leonard Hoffstadter from big bang theory
wow dig the bass player , just saw n on them strings .
God the guy cant fucking sing, he barely carries it to the chorous where the background vocals kick in.
Edit; Read in the comments that this isnt the original singer of the song.
This song should be the next great James Bond 007 movie theme! It has all the elements for a Bond movie it would be perfect!!
This song shouldn't be played during daylight, doesn't do it justice. Jussayin
A great James Bond 007 opening theme! Killer lyrics hypnotic rhythm shaken/not stirred HELL YES take Bond up!!!
