Bro what ? You used cheap as flex lines to connect a water heater and what looks like no thermal expansion tank ? Be a real plumber and pipe it all the way with copper , you should know you can’t mix steel with copper . Smh
There’s definitely a thermal expansion tank and I agree with the copper lines and the gas line why not just finished the 3 inches with all hard pipe and a union. I can see it being more fittings to leak but if you dope them and tighten and test there won’t be any issues. Idk I guess it works for him tho
