“Can’t Get Any Lower” | Post Office Aware Of Faulty Software During Court Battles, Hidden Report

- A draft report has revealed the Post Office was aware of evidence that losses could be due to errors in the Horizon IT system but still pressed ahead with the Bates v Post Office Ltd case.
Campaigner Alan Bates led a group of 555 subpostmasters who took the Post Office to the High Court over the scandal, which was settled in December 2019.
Details of the document, first reported by the BBC, show “Post Office management” knew sub-postmasters may not be to blame for data discrepancies but continued to fight them in court regardless.
The draft report, called Bramble, was commissioned by the Post Office in March 2016 and carried out by consultancy firm Deloitte.

We need to see Post Office executives doing jail time for this and heavy compensation for their victims and the families of lost victims.

They won't though. The UK is corrupt, not in the sense of a third world country where police officers take bribes. It's corrupt at the top, helping each other, people getting high profile roles based upon connections or family backgrounds, incompetent people moving upwards, CEO's getting rewarded for failure or breaches of company policies (ex CEO of Nat West). Ordinary people feel the full force of the law or are sacked with barely a fortnights salary, careers in tatters.
True, but I fear Ms. Vennells may claim in court that she will not get a fair trial as she is being publicly vilified, she will use that as her defence.
And bankrupted why should the sub post master's lady's compensation be paid by tax payer's everyone right down to the nasty investigators made good money out this when they should have known much better than the innocent sub posties.
That they were the ones doing the crime fraudulently taking bonuses and ongoing employment .
When they knew back in 1999 there were glitches in the system.
Fijitsu and emplyee's who engaged colluding with the Post Office to deprive Sub posties Money income standing in the community.
Gaslighting
By members of the public who believed the lies Post Office cover ups .
Perjury another crime these peosecutors lied in court and the public enquiry.
How many died in poverty hounded broken down by the mass Perjury and corporate manslaughter.
Perjury and those who testified to the contrary should be in prison.
When is Vennell's going to be arrested, tried, convicted, imprisoned and had her assets seized to offset the taxpayer, who will ultimately be paying the compensation these sub post masters/ mistresses RIGHTLY deserve.

That she was awarded her CBE AFTER the class action cases were lost and PO exposed is yet another inexplicable disgrace.
Thi k she is due in front of the enquiry soon as its due to restart and personally i cant wait to see her shuffle and squirm......snd to think she got an OBE at one point......for what?
@@michaelmcginley7930 Perhaps opinion should be deferred until she has actually given her evidence? Although a day or two of her saying to every question, 'I have no recollection of that' might become rather tedious.
This is where I feel outrage and disappointment, this has been going on for years, and still no movement against those who lied, lied and lied again, and watched the horror of innocent people being ruined, some dying. The sub postmaster were prosecuted quickly enough so why not those at the top. The police have been "looking" for at least 2 years...... It's a disgrace nothing criminal has happened.
It seems to be a worldwide thing that the rich and powerful are allowed to lie, cheat and steal as much as they can, and never be held accountable. Anyone of more modest means are promptly thrown into jail and ruined because 'you've got to obey the laws'.
They knew, they lied under oath. They lied to parliament. Then they boosted bonuses through making money via the faulty software.

One question keeps coming up, having followed the inquiry like many others over its course is;how the courts were still sending Sub Post Masters to prison or bankrupting them, when there was no evidence presented that showed where the alleged missing money had gone or a reconciliation against stock in the supported the Post Office cases, further the media and many trade magazine journalists were identifying serious and significant issues that were relevant to faults within the IT system being known as far back as 2008/9, this continued for almost a decade after those initial media concerns were known ... with the courts still preferring the evidence presented by the Post Office...it has to be right that the court system and judges sending people to prison or bankrupting them are called to account and to provide their reasoning evidence for doing so at the public inquiry into the Post Office scandal? Sadly we know many Sub Post Masters were bullied into many confessions under duress, yet this seemed acceptable to the courts ?
Tip of iceberg Horizon was also being used in Post Office branches e.g. Crown ( non-operated Sub Post Masters offices ) - Were not Fujitsu also manipulating these errors for these other types of Post Office branches - very odd if this was not also occurring........ Clearly, the system was not fit for purpose from the outset.
Probably did occur but PO was more lenient on crown branches.
Fujitsu was attempting corrections overnight from the 1999, but clearly not comprehensive enough, as some branches went into debt, then picked out and prosecuted. Many sub postmasters missed prosecution by luck.
I would think that any glitches would be fixed overnight by Fujitsu with Crown Offices taking priority.
Apparently, the Post Office engaged the most expensive lawyers in the UK, if not Europe.
The police investigating also using evidence from enquiries.
The people who knowingly started the cover up and those who continued it .
Will face the full force of the law with sentences and financial recompense.
The civil prosecutions against Fujitsu and PO royal mail bosses and parliamentarians all sued their pants off !
Beyond disgraceful...........almost on par with Government behavior
Who wants to bet that anyone will be held responsible, anyone?
tory and the courts already habitualy found the chosen guilty people .how are they going to admit they make mistakes it never happens .but so many so fast so ofton and for so long.
All those that knew and allowed innocent people to goto jail should be locked up for at least double what their victims were.

Just like Hillsborough, Grenville and others, the process will be dragged out until the guilty are too old or infirm for jail.
I also wonder what other systems could have glitches in them.

issue arrest warrants for ALL the post office bosses who were in charge at the time & put them on REMAND until TRIAL
Sadly, all post office excecutives will never be held to account. They may have resigned but they would’ve got another high paying job easily, be on boards/committees etc. the only people who are punished are the workers and the public
Surely the chair from 2015 of the post office Tim Parker should be accountable as well as CEO and legal team.
What are the CRIMINAL implications of this report? Half an hour later four eyes is still waffling. I hope he's better in court.

Here is the thing- apart from all the other aspects of the Post Office scandal the role of Lord Neuberger in the Recusal seems to have escaped attention.
I have therefore pasted the following ‘The role of Lord Neuberger in the recusal fiasco (Justice Fraser) should be investigated’ on as many UA-cam articles as I could, about ten, but when I checked to see if there was any response I discovered they had all been taken down This Kafkaesque episode staggers one at every turn, even when Big brother has been outed he seems to be still working away!
I really want to know why Lord Neuberger interfered , if the recusal had succeeded the whole noble attempt at taking on the stinking system would have failed

Who authorised the amendments
Did sub postmasters make good financial losses that where artificially created
This is all very murky and likely criminal
These fujitsu staff and their managers need to be questioned under oath
What if the repaid money went into Fujitsuaccounts or even a stealth account for individuals. It is about time this was sorted out as it may alter the whole basis of the theft. We need to be more ruthless in this country before people start disappearing into the mist.
