Waaaay too many add ons in that popcorn. As an old school popper that only uses vegetable oil and 0 to no seasoning, I just wanted to know if popcorn hulls can cause health problems later on. Not how to add 35 ingredients to my stove popped popcorn.
Once I grew my OWN popcorn. 1 ear of kernels made a huge bowlful! Best I ever ate!! It was a real food! I popped it in avocado oil over the stove, then poured melted real butter on it, and a little sea salt... INCREDIBLE!!
I just popped a batch last night and put Bragg's nutritional yeast on top! It was delicious! My favorite... I LOVE LOVE LOVE organic butter, nutritional yeast, and cumin💞 .
I don't normally leave comments but Jordan Rubin's personality and presenting style made me do it! "Super-food snack that is sure to satisfy.... seriously!" That was the line that broke me! 😂 I love his love for alliteration - I am the same! Enjoyed watching this video whilst also eating popcorn - probably like most viewers. 🍿😄🍿😄🍿
Thank you for the Superfood for thought! I just changed my butter for popcorn and found a better butter made with olive oil and sea salt! It is delicious so is using turmeric and garlic salt! I don' t think I would use more than two combos on one batch but a variety of batches with different combos would be good.💡Air popcorn poppers are the best no oils at all.
I popped some the other day. I brought butter and olive oil to a slow heat.added a sprinkle of salt, and poured over the popcorn.... yummy to my tummy👍👍😁
I put the kernels in a brown lunch bag and pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes, no oil. Turns out perfect, just add butter. Btw, microwaves have been around for at least 55 years. If they caused disease we'd know by now.
You r so right! Popcorn has done me in! Been in the hospital because of popcorn, also, i am suffering now because of it. My stomach just does not digest it and causes inflamation for me
I love what you say about "it's what you put in and on the pop corn that can be very troubling." This is in addition to the other damaging aspects you point out including bagged popcorn, heated oils, insecticides and radiated process used to pop the kernels. Thank you for this video. I am so ready to run fast past the pop corn at the movie theater! :))))))
the seeds n almonds are all high in Omega 6 so if you like flax, hemp use those. but as long as you eat them in balance with high Omega 3 foods in your day them you're fine!! :)
Just popped my organic popcorn 🍿 with organic coconut oil & organic goat butter 50/50 with a table spoon of organic honey. Watching Star Trek at home 🎥
ORGANIC IS THE ENVIROMENT THE PRODUCT IS GROWN IN , IF GMO PRODUCTS ARE GROWN ORGANIC IT HELPS A LITTLE BUT GMO ALREADY HAS HAZARDOUS TOXINS IN THE PRODUCT BEFORE IT S GROWN , JUST BECAUSE IT SAYS ORGANIC DOESNT MEAN ITS NOT GMO . THIS GUY NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THIS AND SO DO YOU ,
I'm watching this because for 2 weeks straight I threw the popcorn aside after popping and added parmesan cheese and salt to left over butter in bag, shook it up and scraped off bag, now I'm on my death bed!
Almost all movie theaters do use coconut oil, and you don't have to put on all that fake butter they leave it up to you. It's kernels, coconut oil, and Flavacol which is like the orange salt. I have some of it myself and it does enhance the flavor of the popcorn, and I'm pretty sure a small amount of it is not unhealthy or dangerous whatsoever.
Yeah... I feel like all the snacks and drinks at the cinema are bad for health. I hope that the cinema companies will offer more healthy snacks like packs of nuts and dried fruit.
Hey Josh! Love the video, my mother and I always want to eat it and try to get the other to make some. The video is very informative! Ever thought of putting a summary at the end of the video?
It is better to use animal fats. The fats recommended here still turn toxic at high heat. Bacon fat is great…. Save it and use it to pop your popcorn. Clarified butter works well, too, but is quite expensive.
I'm using a hot oil popper and use olive oil and some butter as the popping oil. I've been using some butter flavored pam as a topper... but may have to rethink that....
As much as I love Dr. Axe videos I have a hard time watch these videos without Josh, because they drag on to long. The info is un-organized and filled with tangents. Too much info and opinion that is lacking relevents and waste time getting to the point. Jordan in the kindess way please cut the videos time down, make a list of facts, organize, get to the point and don't stand infront of the screen or move it off to the side. Keep up the good work!
The movie theater I go to uses coconut oil so when I ate too much I got a upset stomach and then got an allergic reaction then ended up in the Shower ER
The only thing I want to add here is that although I have heard several health practitioners I respect, such as yourself, say this about microwaves, I have chosen to go by what I have heard in several vids the amazing Dr. Joel Wallach say about them -- he does NOT consider microwaves harmful but simply radio waves. He has several placed in various rooms of his home to reheat drinks that have gotten cold so he does not have to return to the kitchen to do this, and he recommends parents teaching children to prepare healthy foods in them (by themselves) because they do not involve flames. He says children LOVE this type of independence and can be taught to use them safely even if they have to reach them by standing on a footstool.
I wish I could have watched you popping corn in an ordinary pot on the stove. When I do it that way i wear myself out shaking that pot. But of course the popcorn is always good. Did you know that if you're stuck with old out-dated corn it can be refreshed by soaking in water for awhile drying it off again and then give it a pop ?
my husband is a colon cancer survivor and I make popcorn old school with coconut oil sooo good! Thanks for sharing 😘
Watching this while eating popcorn 😂

No butter and no salt.

Having organic purple popcorn popped in Avocado Oil now... no butter needed :)
popcorn, ghee, sea salt & garlic garlic powder... that's it yum
I should try that
Thank you for the Superfood for thought! I just changed my butter for popcorn and found a better butter made with olive oil and sea salt! It is delicious so is using turmeric and garlic salt! 4 years later lol. Real butter isn't made with oils. That would be margarine lol. Try Kerrygold butter. Expensive but worth every cent.
@@Shimco Who makes that brand? Never heard of it. I like Organic Earth Balance.
how on earth is this stuff approved by the Fda or whoever approves food to go into the market place????????????
The regulatory agencies get funded by big food corporations.
I use coconut oil and a little bit of olive oil than sprinkle the popcorn with Himalayan pink salt and cayenne pepper. It’s DELICIOUS!!!!
The other day, I've been eating popcorn and it suddenly caused soreness in my gums and throat, so each time I swallow it starts to hurt
I popped some the other day. I brought butter and olive oil to a slow heat.added a sprinkle of salt, and poured over the popcorn.... yummy to my tummy👍👍😁

The “symphony of superfoods” looks like torture.
I put the kernels in a brown lunch bag and pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes, no oil. Turns out perfect, just add butter. Btw, microwaves have been around for at least 55 years. If they caused disease we'd know by now.
Oh My!! Thanks!!! I'm changing to cooking mine from now on like Mom used to do!!😍👍👍
You r so right! Popcorn has done me in! Been in the hospital because of popcorn, also, i am suffering now because of it. My stomach just does not digest it and causes inflamation for me
So sorry! My husband is suffering BAD right now. 2 days now. And I'm looking up info to help. Horrible headache, vomiting ....what were your symptoms?
Use organic popcorn and I put cinnamon and black pepper instead of salt and butter
if you use turmeric,....you must use black pepper to activate the curcumin
🤔
I pop mine in avocado oil or olive oil and then use flax seed oil and nutritional yeast to top it off. It's super yummy.
Riley Luers oooh I have to try the nutritional yeast.
Riley Luers very nice!! Very healthy. my husband loves caramel popcorn so I need to find a way to make him a healthier version.
@@Francescadbg try coconut sugar
That sht sound nasty af
Grew up on a midwestern farm and grew several varieties of corn. Corn is a member of the grasses family.
thank you for this advice . I has a question to much microwave food can be dangerous because of radiation I was just wonder ?
Anti Microwave and no mention of air popper What?!?!
Mid West. IKR! I love my air popper! seems popcorn is one my only safe snack foods😅
I put olive oil, hymalian salt, cinnamon, and cane sugar. is that ok?
hmmm
You fucking lost me when you said "radiation"...
Omg, this just killed my mood. Popcorn is one of my weaknesses 😮💨😮💨😮💨
I make my own airpop with nutritional yeast and Cayenne pepper and olive oil. Delicious 😋
I mix 2 tbs organic popcorn with 3 tbs olive , sprickel salt and turmaric in a microwavable silicone container and microwave it .
I love what you say about "it's what you put in and on the pop corn that can be very troubling." Microwavable popcorn is Satan's work

Popcorn seeds have a certain moisture content that when it gets hot enough explodes into popcorn..
Burns easy , pot ruined, smoke alarm goes off!! Hot air popcorn popper.
Hot air is the best way

WOW, that is amazing, "popcorn medley"!! I going to get this on my next grocery haul!!
A spot in the middle of my upper lip swollen tonight after too much amc movie popcorn butter. Stomach felt bad for hrs then lip swollen.
try coconut oil instead of butter and add celery salt.
..use non gmo popcorn, cook on stove with ghee, top with grassfed org butter n sea salt
Better to cook with counut oil
There is absolutely no health risk in heating your food with microwaves.
@Melanie Martinez is my waifu ._. 2.4 GHZ is non ionizing radiation (microwave oven). Your belief is wrong.
Balsamic vinegar in spray bottle, sprits popcorn with dried basil and Parmesan cheese✔️👍
I pop my organic popcorn in my hot air popper and top with melted Kerrygold butter and pink Himalayan salt.
Make it my own. In a pot no oil. NO salt. No sugar. Nothing
I'm watching this because for 2 weeks straight I threw the popcorn aside after popping and added parmesan cheese and salt to left over butter in bag, shook it up and scraped off bag, now I'm on my death bed!
Definitely going to change the way I prepare and flavor popcorn. I detest rosemary but other than that it looks awesome.
What about olive oil instead of margarine?

This sounds so good and healthy! I like the ingredients you used in the healthy popcorn. In fact I have most of them...will try this! TFS!
OMG!! Thanks for sharing this with information.
Industrialization of food is killing us 🤬🤬 natural popcorn 🍿 for the win 💫

dude, you forgot bone broth. gotta have bone broth for the pop corn.
Is it true that you have to take Black pepper when you take Tumeric??? Together?
Geraldine Hallelujah the black pepper helps absorb the turmeric so you should always eat it together
Yes
Yes!
omg I'm a big pop corn fan😢
You should have said this in 2 minutes .
That looks really yummy. Thank you.
I'm using a hot oil popper and use olive oil and some butter as the popping oil.
I've been using some butter flavored pam as a topper... but may have to rethink that....
Thanks for your Ministry! Do you have any suggestions for sunken bags under the eye?

How about dry pooped corn and lightly Buttered with real butter only
Popcorn can be a great occasional treat, but as with any food should be enjoyed in moderation. Learn more here: draxe.com/nutritional-value-of-corn/?
popcorn high in starch high carb😂butter flax spice rosemerry salt garlic.coconut oil.sunflower seeds
Thanking God for Jordan. I've always been a fan.
I use olive oil, on lower heat, it comes our perfectly and taste good. But is it safe to use olive oil?
No, chemical chugs in oil
popcorn makes me have some really bizarre dreams
I have had severe reaction to those popcorn machines used in movie houses.
Thanks so much for for this video.
i also use smokey paprika sprayed with a olive oil or coconut oil to get it to stick
How about popping corn in olive oil?
That's what I do, is that OK?
mrmet15 olive oil has very low burn temperature. Whereas coconut oil has a higher burn temperature.
Kathaline Hansen I use Avocado Oil due to its high smoking point
Hahahaha I love how he said to smuggle food in the theater. I smuggle water and things I want to smuggle in when I want to hahahaha
its a blessing or a curse no one knows
I recently bought a bag of popcorn. It's a healthier version I guess. Buy the Lesser Evil Buddha Bowl brand through Vitacost. Super yummy
I'm currently indulging in a bag of Oh My Ghee!!! So delish!!!
Skinny pop organic popcorn in a bag is awesome
The movie theater I go to uses coconut oil so when I ate too much I got a upset stomach and then got an allergic reaction then ended up in the Shower ER
Air popper, no oils needed
Very true and I have aired popcorn for snacks it's a health snack
I'm not eating this anymore
Grate Parmesan cheese over it, garlic powder!!!

I like ground hemp seeds on top!
Which is best using safest for healthier air pooper or stovetop or microwave????
Just cook it yourself an’t rock science 🙄

P.s. it's the moisture inside the kernels that makes it explode when the heat expands the moisture. I
What about Cornstarch and Flours?
I have an air popper and use organic grass fed butter for flavor.
you guys are the best!! I eat it the healthy way! but just bought sorghum to try that instead. ❤️💪🌈😎
Hot-air popped, no toppings.
Looks delicious!
If using red palm it's best not to overheat or pop with it. Melt it and put it on top after...
I love this idea. Great 👍
my fave is coconut oil and spike
I don’t know about you guys but I sure don’t put oil on my popcorn after. I mean isn’t butter already oil itself 😂😂🤦🏻♀️
since i already have so many microwave popcorn, is it healthy if i cut the bag and pan fry it with the butter?
I air pop it then pour flaxseed oil over it and sprinkle with the pink sea salt! Don't like all that stuff you use.....
Corn is poisoned
