Weird rules tbh, all the games you’ve won seems to have been by luck (luck as in the hatch spawning somewhere you expect or you end up getting an indoor map where you slug for the 4K). The way you’re punishing yourself it seems more of a showcase of luck rather than a showcase of skill. Regardless, as long as you’re enjoying none of this matters I guess 😅
Season 2 is looking real rough right now. Whether you make it to iridescent or not, I definitely think this time around, you made the challenge way too difficult for yourself way too early on. To lose 7 killers before even reaching Gold III is dire. Regardless, you're taking the losses in stride and acknowledging your faults instead of blaming it on everyone else which is always admirable. Your viewers believe in you.

I feel like slugging for the 4k should be allowed. The no perks, addons, and offerings is insanely difficult as is.
He also doesn't break pallets or walls enough, which can help with pipping up
Definitely made it too hard. To already not be using perks or add-ons starting at silver 4 is crazy. I doubt anybody could make it from silver 4 to iri 1 with literally nothing and having to get 4ks.
It might be better, instead of losing all add-ons, using only brown for the next tier. THEN, go to taking all add-ons off for the tier after.
This is the first time I actually watch a long ass dbd series and enjoy every second of it, good shit bro
So as a veteran player it's usually pretty easy to tell what perks the killers running. So I never understand why survivors get a killer that's NOT running pain res, grim, ruin, pop, corrupt, and dead man's all at once and they gotta BM in the gate. These guys are the same ones that'll complain when they get wesker and blight 8 matches in a row running the same before mentioned perks.
This is my biggest pet peeve. I see all the time and get cussed out all the time by survivors saying I'm a bad killer cuz I'm tunneling or slugging or whatever, yet they're running the sweatiest fucking build's as possible for a survivor and when they open the gate they will sit there and wait for you to come over and crouch spam you. Like you really can't complain about me using a game mechanic that I HAVE to use against your builds, then spam emote and crouch spam at gate when you've already opened it. I have some friends that are survivor mains and will bitch about EVERYTHING a killer does. It's so annoying
this is the biggest thing that puts me off from trying the game, I watch it but have never played it and seeing people act like that just...why bother imo, doesn't help that any killer I have interest in are apparently "toxic" or non meta/bad, so I'll just stick to watching the game I guess

@@ThjyuGamingWell to play the devil's advocate here, tunneling and slugging is why survivors running "sweat builds". If your slugging and tunneling (I'm not saying you are, I'm speaking in general) then can you really get mad when survivors are trying to tbag you at the gates? Same can be said about survivors who tbag throughout the match for no reason, can't get mad when you get get down and the killer starts humping you or hitting you on hook. Some killers will bring a sweaty build, tunnel and slug, hit on hook for no reason while playing against casual survivors. Now those same survivors will bring a sweaty build, gen rush and tbag against a chill killer because of the experience they just had, it's a cycle in this game that's never going to be broken lmao

There's a small part of me that wants to say if someone escapes from hatch is doesn't count, especially because of the survivors being able to be on comms and stuff, as well as if they're queued up together with a key then someone is automatically getting out more than likely. Definitely think the rules overall were too hard this time around, it makes it so easy for the survivors to "win" that it legitimately doesn't even feel like a challenge, it's just torture lmao
That Nemesis match from previous episode was just frustrating and unfair.
@@PGFXKiu Man, I feel like that's more of a game issue than a rules issue. I was FLOORED by that moment in a previous episode where he hit the survivor, and during the recovery animation she was able to unlock hatch and escape before a second hit. That should take longer.

I just genuinely think that you play it to enjoy it. In my opinion you play way better having fun rather than sweating it and thinking about much shit at the same time
first the nemesis match last video and now with dracula in this vid, that shit even hurted me
It’s fucked up too that you can get a 3k but because you annihilated the other team so badly you don’t even get one rank pip

It's too hard to get pips in the current patch. Even on low rank matches, you have to play perfect to double pip. And even just having a survivor give up on first hook can deny you the pips. I think it needs to be rebalanced back the other way.
ending the game too fast doesn't pip either. the pip system isn't very well thought out
@@unimagin2ble It used to be you didn't need nearly as many emblem grades to pip up at lower ranks, but when they removed the ability to lose pips they also made it so you need basically all gold or iridescent in order to gain pips at all ranks.

Hey Spooky, as a long time sub and a huge fan of DBD, i have a set up that may be a bit more ballancee for you next HcKC.
Ash: Each Killer can keep a unique build, Hatch Offering, and yellow or lower add ons, slugging on indoor maps
Bronze: one build unified for every killer, hatch offering, yellow or lower adds, slugging on indoor maps
Silver: remove 1 perk (only 3 perks only), hatch, Bronze adds only, slugging indoor maps
Gold: remove 2 perks (2 perks only), no hatch hatch, and bronze adds, no slugging
Irradescent: no perks, no hatch, no adds, no slugging
Maybe this will make it more ballanced for you to have more killers later on before you start loosing them

God, watching that hunttress match and seeing him not get rid of the boon while the survivors get SO MUCH out of it makes me so dang mad.
He had no time to go find and snuff it, huntress is so fucking slow that even if he had spent a tiny bit of time on it that the risk wasn't worth it

I suck ass at DBD. You getting any kills at all in these later games is nuts. I fully support your mulligan for hatch escapes just to five yourself some kind of breathing room. And maybe push back the adepts to gold. And fight with no perks on iridescent.

I love this series but at the same time its not fun watching every episode to watch you lose killer after killer, I think maybe its just a bit to hard and there needs to be a readjustment of 1 if not more of the rules just to make it a tiny bit easier for you. Anyway keep up the great work!

I really like this series, but the rules definitely need to be adjusted some. What if, for next season you add some random perks/addons. That way you will always have something, which is better than nothing. Having no perks/addons really makes it almost impossible for some killers to even get a pip. Maybe spice up the random perks/addons when you get to gold, if you lose a killer the perks and addons they had would get removed as well, so that it shortens the list, and once you're out of perks/addons, you're back to true pain. I think it would add a new element which would still make the challenge hard, but more enjoyable for you
I think it's fair to have the ghostie match count as a mulligan for the crash. You had that game in the bag and the servers screwed you over. Nothing wrong by me
Idea for the next season. if you get the 4k with one killer you can add a perk on that killer for the next game. Love the hardcore killer series!

I think for future hardcore seasons you should definitely have looser restrictions. I liked only losing 1 perk per rank from the prior season. Especially because you are on your main feels like the chances of beating the challenge is hopeless so there is very little suspense. Great video regardless!

The appeal of this challenge is seeing you get a 4k using skill and tactics. The hatch runs counter to this. You can play a perfect game, but lose to blind luck. Those games shouldn’t count against the killer, or if they do, it should be a very minor penalty like putting the killer in timeout for a rank.
It would be nice for you to revisit these rules. As a viewer, it does suck to see you lose to something outside of your control.
I'll be totally honest, I think the hatch rule is totally stupid. The challenge would be waaaaay better without that RNG element that doesn't need any skill on the survivor's part.
I think the challenge should be perkless, add onless and maidenless from the get go, from ash IV.
And if you want extra challenge do something like this: stay AFK until at least 1 gen has popped. It's way less RNG and fun than that hatch bullshit (to me seeing you lose a killer just because a survivor escaped because the hatch spawned in his feet isn't fun).
Regardless all that, awesome video and you're an awesome player.
I always found the "You should make the challenge easier" comments somewhat funny, cause I can understand where they're coming from, but on the other hand Spooky named it Hardcore for a reason lol
The ruleset is just too rough. It was too brutal too early, and no offerings and perks should be dedicated to Gold or Iri. DBD at its core is luck that you're not getting a survivor/killer that counters what you're doing, complete with the RNG map, so if you're running a killer without any offerings or perks, you've lost what little advantage you can give yourself. You're essentially fighting luck, 4 people, and a map that they can potentially sway the choice on, complete with people who are playing in your MMR bracket. Its really bad casino odds, and I imagine makes for an absolutely miserable playing experience.
Killer mains need to retaliate against BHVR. What are we gonna when they nerf pain res, grim embrace, corrupt intervention, pentimento, and pop goes the weasel??? Next thing you know they're gonna remove skill checks and give survivors permanent endurance. But yet survivors still have the audacity to say "skill issue" "you're just bad" "stay mad"meanwhile when so called toxic survivor mains play killers they only run the meta 😂 this community is beyond insufferable
Heres the thing you have HINDERED yourself heavily by having no add ons no perks AND no offerings alongside allowing survivors the ability to escape via hatch.......like ngl this challenge is nigh impossible. Tbh imo you should give yourself room SOMEWHERE whether its giving yourself an add on or allowing slugging....as enjoyable as it is watching you play its frustrating to watch you fail because of chance and not because of your skill as a killer.
Spooky you are being way too hard on yourself dude. You’re playing high end of high mmr with zero anything against meta builds AND requiring yourself to get a 4k each time, not just a 3k win? You wild homie.
Obviously I know you set the rules up for yourself, but genuinely, I think especially the 1 man escape losses get a bit boring to watch. Nothing really to root for.
Still enjoying the series and I am sure others enjoy the ruleset you made too, but just speaking from my own viewpoint.

The difficulty curve this time is insane, even with more Killers to throw at the Suvivors. No matter what, you're gonna have to find a middleground between Season 1 and Season 2's difficulty if you're planning on doing a Season 3. And maybe something where if you do a mini-challenge in a round, you get to revive a Killer (random or chosen). Maybe you can consider a hatch escape with a key to be 'half-dead.'

Can someone tell Spooky that he is literally 'competing' against a 50/50 with his stupid hatch rule. Quite a few of his losses so far have come from hatch escapes (2 w/ keys) - that is not getting outplayed. Imagine being his audience live and watching this man suffer for your enjoyment? At his best throughout this challenge he has sounded resigned and at his worst just miserable. You don't have to do this man.
Edit #1: 47:40 Spooky is literally complaining that the survivors are playing every game with the best perks/items (the 'superbowl' comment) - remind me again, who chose to suffer through this?

Take a break from the hardcore challenge. You're fully tilted, stressed, and not on your A game. Maybe you don't need to do 100 reps in one sitting. Maybe you can do 25, and rest up for tomorrow??
A combination of strict regulations, rough RNG and the massive amount of perks that are available now in the game are just eating you alive my guy. Hate to see you struggling this much. But you're still one of the best killer mains in the verse. Stay frosty. You're still putting in the work like a boss.
100% you should be able to slug for when you have no offering nor perks etc.
Also, I think escaping through hatch should count as a strike rather than a real escape. Hard challenges are only actually hard and good when still possible. You've introduced too much RNG I think to have a fair shot at it.
You did not improve your decision making whatsoever over the last 5 episodes, and that's the main reason you kept losing killers
You should watch over each match at the end of the recording, and coach yourself on what the best decisions to make were at different points with account towards decision value and overall map gen progress
Great vid as always. Not a professional or even a great player by any means but maybe you should try to kill survivors quick and try to chip away at ranks with one pip.🤷♂️ just an idea
"Oh, I would have done this" If anyone is actually thinking that, they are ridiculous. I don't think there's a single person that plays this game that would actually complete this challenge with such difficult limitations. You can play perfect, and you would still need the survivors to make a couple mistakes. Most other people I see doing this kind of challenge have relatively mild limitations compared.
I know the popular opinion is that this is too hard, but personally i find that the personal challenges you set for yourself here truly make this feel like a hardcore experience. After seeing the ups and downs to this point it is super impressive you’re still in it. I hope you make it, but if you don’t, i think it’s a sick goal to work up to and provides a really sweet challenge for others to try as well! Best of luck Spooky!
I’ll never understand why during these challenges you don’t tunnel. You have nothing to help you except basket. Meanwhile survivors are bringing all the best items possible. Quit playing so nice. That’s why you lose.

If you do this series again, may I suggest a few rules?
For Slugging, Hatch & Offerings:
#1) From Bronze to Gold ranks, you cannot bring any offerings in whatsoever. In Iridescent ranks, you are allowed to bring a Sacrifical Ward.
#2) When you are down to two survivors. You are permitted to slug for the 4k, but only for a specific amount of time (determined by your current rank). If you do not find the final Survivor within that timeframe, you must pick and hook the slugged Survivor. If you do find the final Survivor within the specified timeframe, then you are free to chase them down.
Rules for Bronze:
#1-You can use add-ons of any rarity.
#2-You have to use the Killer's three teachable perks + Deerstalker.
#3-You can slug for 60 seconds.
Rules for Silver:
#1-You cannot use any iridescent or purple add-ons. Only green, yellow or brown.
#2-You can only use two teacheable perks + Deerstalker.
#3-You can slug for 50 seconds.
Rules for Gold:
#1-You cannot use any iridescent, purple or green addons. Only yellow or brown.
#2-You can only bring one teacheable perk + Deerstalker.
#3-You can only slug for 40 seconds.
Rules for Iridescent:
#1-You can only use brown add-ons.
#2-You can only bring Deerstalker.
#3-You can only slug for 30 seconds.
#4-You can bring a Sacrifical Ward.
Re: offering, slugging, or mulligan or not... this is your contest and you made the rules, we're all just grateful to be watching on the edge of our seats! Whatever you need to do and I deffo agree ghostie would have gotten one or two pips on that DC match. Not yet finished with this one but man is it grueling T_T

proud of you for not just tunnelling someone out at four gens and actually challenging yourself. Makes the content much more entertaining and exciting. It's not really a challenge if you're just tunneling out one person who's just playing a soloq match as hard as possible, it's just kind of pathetic.
edit - at the end of the sadako match you said you should've just tunneled someone out way earlier. lol okay I'll eat my words.
Understanding this is "hardcore" killer challenge, as you progress higher, you can instead of 4 people kill, you can do 3 people kill. Handicapping like this is immensely difficult and I applaud you for that. good luck
@SpookyLoopz @44:53 when you mentioned that match, I always had the assumption that you allow slugging on certain maps and if you go back to the tapes, you have said it in older episodes of this. I personally am speaking about this after hearing your result in the matter but I think chat was either trolling you or didn't understand how you set the rules because of the tiers you put on the challenge.
I don't play DBD but I really enjoy watching these. In my opinion, the next time you do a hardcore series you should try and implement perk builds more. I think builds are part of the skill required for the game and omitting it entirely makes things a little less interesting. Maybe something like reducing the rarity of perks each time you progress up a tier, and maybe the last ranks requires fewer or no perks? Add-ons too, since they can change a lot about how you would play. I don't really know how to feel about the no-slug rule since there are situations where that just seems like the optimal way to play. Hopefully you can think of a more skill-based way to give survivors an edge without intentionally making a bad play. But anyway, cheers dude.
With the amount of misfortune you've had on this episode I'm so surprised you have not broken anything around you! I would've lost my temper especially at that DC.
i think, next time, slugging for the 4k should be allowed until AT LEAST gold, preferably until iri though, especially with all the insane restrictions and elimination opportunities you allow
I'm sorry Spooky but with only 7 killers left i just don't see you completing the challenge, even if Nurse and Blight are OP and with strong killers like Oni and Spirit left it still just feels impossible. Especially when you can't even slug when you reach Iridescent. But either way i will continue to watch and root for you. And if you fail, hopefully after a long break you'll try again, but this time modify it so it isn't so impossible. Like you said in the video where someone made a suggestion with hatch, that you shouldn't immediately eliminate the killer, give them a strike than eliminate if they got another hatch escape, and i still think the games with the 2 for 1 gen glitch shouldn't have been counted but oh well it's your challenge. Again good luck and i hope you succeed.
I think the hatch escape rule is really tough on you, you could go for the offering every game all the way to iri 1, honestly you could even just dont count key escapes because that shit is just RNGing a killer out of the pool, and the perk rule should be less strict, having to pass throught basically everything without perks or addons is craaaaazy, i get the idea on making the challenge a lil bit difficult every time but you made too big of a jump haha

I think starting off with 4 perks then removing one every tier would be fine. Then in iri you get either 1 perk or bring an offering.
And allowing only 1 addon throughout the match.
I feel like allowing a 3k to count up until iri ranks might be fine too.
I watch this series every week, the day the new episode drops. You're entertaining and pretty good at the game, which is a tough combo to find! The rules are definitely just real tough, and maybe a little leniency or something cuz it's more fun when you're having fun and enjoying yourself more too!
Nah man, you've been fucked over so many times already, twice with a Key, and than a server dc... with 4 killers in a row with no pip gains, the slug on new Midwich is perfectly fine. Honestly think Slugging at the end should be allowed if their 2 survivors left with one at least on death hook. But that's up to you.
next year you gotta loosen the rules up man. these are pretty rough and it was way too ridiculous early on, i get the 4k is supposed to be important but silver was horrible man let brown addons into the fray because that was pretty hard. its already hard enough to do no perks, but no addons, offerings, nothing? not even slugging?? this is too hardcore esp since hatch is rng based anyway, dont kill a killer off hatch escapes imo this is painful to watch
