That track was revolutionary then. Meaning those 2 unapologetic gay men singing about LOVE and being in the charts...and all that during the AIDS plague.... STILL revolutionary now!

This is one of the great performances of all time in my opinion. So many cultural reasons, and just each with their unique sounds and moves that are just magical together.
Rest in peace Steve, and hopefully knowing in some esoteric way that you left so many of us with a glow in our hearts. Your hit song "Smalltown Boy" gave so many that extra energy and courage they needed to leave behind the oppression of the narrow minded and narrow places, but you (and Jimmy and Larry) had so very many fantastic songs beyond that. With so many fans dedicated to a lot of darker new wave and post punk bands, you were one of those with unabashed enthusiasm, a cheerleader to coax us beyond all that darkness. Here you are exuding the radiance of all you have to give along with Marc Almond, another very positive force of nature who guides us along the way. I'm sure he carries the torch (no pun intended) with extra love today.
