I run a Kambal deck as my 'Cedh' deck. I'm not really too invested in C but some of the guys at my LGS are really big on it and the deck stacks on similar effects like Rug of Smothering, Ahnk of Mishra and Bloodchief Ascension. Then using something like a Silence or Grand Abolisher to protect a big Torment of Hailfire or Debt to the Deathless to either finish people off of severely cripple them. It might not be a Meta Cedh deck but it can steal wins more often than it probably should.
I fucking love Kambal. This. Card. Is. Nuts. I run Kambal in my 5C Pod deck, which also happens to run Talion, and I've won almost every single game whenever I get to stick them both on the board and they go unaddressed. Just Kambal by himself pays for all of my Lotho and Birthing Pod triggers and then a whole ton more. He's always under the radar because the 2 life per noncreature always seems trivial in the early parts of the game... until 3 turns later when everyone's fetched, shocked, taken combat damage, paid life for various activations and spells, and all of a sudden Kambal is a nightmare to deal with and/or play through. I've had many games with Kambal on board where I've taken at least 15 damage from a single combat, and gained all of that life back and then some within a single turn cycle. Anecdotally, I've had a game where Talion and Kambal burned through a Dargo/Thrasios player's entire life total within 2~3 cycles. In my opinion the scariest thing about Kambal is the fact that his effect is so unassuming in comparison to the rest of the busted creatures people are playing in CEDH at a glance. This episode is really a coincidence for me. I'm working on a Liesa, Shroud of Dusk list that (hopefully) leverages the potency of life drain in CEDH to its fullest potential. Tymna is a notable exclusion in the list, but between Blood Chief Ascension, Liesa, Rug of Smothering, Kambal (both versions of him, actually), Sheoldred, Vito, Meathook Massacre, and Bowmasters, along with many other relevant synergies, it's starting to look like a deck that can tangibly pressure life totals in a way that Talion cannot quite compete with, while being able to keep yourself afloat quite easily. The philosophy of the deck is that you can certainly do whatever it is you want to do, but your life total **WILL** suffer. Very excited for this deck; I am a few cards off, and I'm hoping to complete it soon.
This, Ruric Thar the Unbowed, and Annie Joins Up are swaps in my Jodah Deck. That doubles the triggers of both cards, dealing 16 damage each time opponents cast a noncreature spell. 3 pings would be enough to kill, and two brings them down to 8. Ruric Thar hits the owner, which is a downside, but it was suggested in another cEDH video. I'd imagine a more consistent Sisay build could potentially use this to their advantage.

We just built a Raffine deck with a similar gameplan in mind! I’ll link it in the discord
I wonder if CEDH cardpool is small enough to play retrace image 😂
In certain pods this would absolutely bang. 1 mana TOR? Sign me up.
Def a good card. Been saying this for long time. I also still play stax just for fun so he's a main stay for me. 😂
If you know, you know. People are sleeping on Kambal!

Ruric Thar is the biggest chad card ever. Absolutely love the big boi
Doubles off Delney in Malcolm Tymna is gas. I will be testing him. Thanks for the vid/insight
Malcolm Tymna can also play Talion. Talion+ Kambal is HEAT.
@@ThatsAGoodCard I was already running Talion. Just wish it was a 2/4 for Delney lol
@@batboibob4910 ok Talion double draw and damage would be BONKERS
Love this card. Layers great with sheoldred and bloodchief.
Recommendations for future cards. Veilstone Amulet, Malevolent Hermit, and Springleaf Drum
Thanks for the recommendations!!
its a lot better now. The guy who won a cedh tourney with zur ran it. it just makes sense in a necro/ad naus deck
Aged like a fine wine
I've considered putting Kambal in my Sisay deck.
@@rogerrabbit132 a member of the pod put it in his and he absolutely loves it!
Another tayam include?🤔
I often find myself losing a lot of health in tayam, so having a stax plus health is good
Card suggestion: Strix Serenade
@@bakerbakura card is absolute gas. Auto include imo
Please curb the up-speak. It's really off putting.
