Another thing this card can do is turn off fetchlands. When this resolves, you can name an uncracked fetch land and they can't use it in response. Pretty niche in legacy, even more niche in cedh, but it is really funny if it happens.
Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your podcast, but since Slicer basically got banned today I will no longer be playing cEDH. Thanks for the entertainment and good luck.
I’m literally in the process of building slicer! Did you mean because jeweled lotus is banned slicer is no longer effective? And if you have a deck list to share that would be cool!
@@bradenlarson9146 I think both mana crypt, dockside, and jeweled lotus being banned all hurt the explosive turn 1 speed of slicer. That being said, there’s a world where the whole meta slowing down can benefit slicer. I’d say play some games with the updated ban list and see how it feels before writing off slicer completely!
@bradenlarson9146 Slicer is already such a hard deck to win with. You always mulligan to a turn one Slicer hand, and this makes it almost impossible to do that.
Onslaught. Red Enchantment. 2RR. Activated ability is 1R: Sacrifice a creature. Onslaught deal damage to any target equal to the sacrificed creature’s power. The art is an impressionistic Richard Kane Ferguson battle scene. Soldiers with shields clashing and spears in the arrow. A brigade of goblins charge in the foreground.
If you can do an episode on the bans or even just taking one of the cards like dockside and look at it subjectively at each level of play (pre con, casual, high power and cedh) where one of you is for the ban, the other against. That would be a good episode.
@@ThatsAGoodCard totally fair. Not asking necessarily for a rant. Just a think piece about the impact of such a ban and the competitive space as a whole. These cards have been staple cards in the format and in no small way reshape the game moving forward in big ways. As competitive players, where do you see this going? What road could this pave for future bans? How will the Meta shift to adjust to changing winds and what new commanders do you think are going to rise to the top? Questions like that ☺️ Edit: tbh I did NOT see Jeweled Lotus getting the ban hammer. That was the one card I least expected. I thought Sol Ring would have been banned before that
@@toddlez123 honestly I think it’s even better. With red being nerfed so hard I think we will see a lot of esper so naming things like Tivit or Tymna will be HUGE.
I just recently got into cedh and have been enjoying your channel! I'm playing Talion and I'm a little worried the new bans have made the deck way worse. Certainly Crypt and Lotus were quite strong for getting Talion out early. What do you guys think about the viability of that deck?
@@henryjones8636 I’m a Talion pilot, and I think it’s fine for Talion because Talions whole gameplan is to slow people down and get to the midrange game. The only reason we were rushing to get Talion out before was to be able to have a say when something hit the board fast. With this change I think Talion is EV+
I run in in urza along with needle and spy glass? I forgot the name but it has flash can hit a in progress fetch land to fizzle or early to tax a problematic commander or if I’m playing against a deck with stupid win cons like oracle be like oof you got 3? On top of that?
@@ThatsAGoodCard I've found that the Japanese players tend to absue the "return" ability more often than not. I live in Japan, and my latest event was crawling with derevi decks. Lol
Love the mini episode in an episode on telepathy

Onslaught - Red enchantment - 3RR All creatures have haste. Creatures that entered the battlefield this turn must attack if able
I love this guess!!! Decently close!!
Saw this cast at Fishbowl! Thada Adel player was on it

Incredibly descriptive.. and VERY CLOSE!! I hope my artwork did it justice.
I run all the needle effects cause i play oswald fiddlebender stax 😆

Dropped just after the Ban Listing. You guys gotta do an episode on your thoughts on the bans!
I’m in a state of sadness but I also don’t want to just make a /rant video…. We thought about it though!

What are the thoughts now that dockside and nadu are gone (as they are examples of why it is good)?

Any answer yet on the Yuriko interaction?
yep! it does stop yuriko!
Sen triplet might like this card because you get to peak at a hand a turn.

That's a really good point. I will try to stop worrying about it then. Thank you!
I like this card and I like it more than Pithing needle. I have yet to try it but it looks really appealing. I want to slot it in Urza.

Rip to a legend.
It's not as popular anymore but it also stops foodchain lines which might become more popular with the recent bans!
@@seankallen5212 food chain is going to be very popular now
name your friends commander
they will no longer be your friend
Note to self: only name your best friend’s commander 😂
Dont need to worry about nadu anymore
Recorded a few days ago, but damn i wonder which commander is the next one we will need to name. Maybe Tivit? Thrasios?
does this kinda hose derevi players?
Not as much as you’d think. Derevi’s untap is a triggered ability so it doesn’t get completely shut down by the flute.
