    Appreciate this video Jeremiah. So much smoke and mirrors out there about luring making. As an aside, the lures I received from you last year were top rate and the consistency was better than any other brand that I have used.

    Hi , Great video for sure ,, I have to wonder if using crisco lard would accomplish the same thing as the super lube you are using now ?..thank you ..

    • @trappingtoday
      @trappingtoday  5 років тому

      Crisco will harden in the cold so it doesn't work well on northern traplines. But in a pinch it would work.

    Hi sir.
    I have some questions, please.
    What is the place of holding civet in the fragrance pyramid?
    What is his job?
    What are the components that fit and interact with it?
    The same goes for Castrum
    I want to know its role in the pyramid formula and the components that suit and interact with it?
    Thank you sir.

    Hey Jeremiah, I plan on making a marten lure using, fish oil im making from lake trout, pure quill skunk, beaver castors, anise and the Super Lube. I hope it turns out. Have you had any success or failures using the Super Lube yet? Would you suggest the amounts I should use for the ingredients I plan on using? Im trapping marten in NWT Canada, it gets -45. Thanks!

      indighostx c both are attractants for certain predators. They are not commonly used in most lures but definitely have their place

      @@KFED721 yes, but only in very cold conditions and in a small quantity. Otherwise it can be too powerful and many canines may not come close enough to the set to be caught.

    Thank you for sharing !! ( " I would love to buy a jar of that from you ".) . I have been watching all your videos and they are very helpful. Not many people tell everything they use in there lure making...... I am disabled and I'm going to spend some free outside and over the summer I am going to try and make my own bait out of groundhog. How long do you keep the meat outside in jars to taint ?

    • @trappingtoday
      @trappingtoday  6 років тому

      Thanks for the comment Chip! You can purchase a jar of the lure by clicking on this link, which will take you to my online store: gum.co/woVLV
      That's great to hear you're going to make your own bait. Time to taint depends highly on temperature. If you bury it in the ground, which should keep the bait at around 50 degrees, depending on where you're at, a few weeks will do the trick. If you keep the bait at room temperature, it will only take a couple of days or so to taint. Just keep checking it until you get the desired level of taint, and then add preservative to stop the breakdown process. Grinding the meat or cutting into very small chunks will ensure the preservative works its way into most of the meat and does its job right. Remember, you don't want rotten meat to use as bait. It can work well in a lure to trigger a rolling response, but not as a food type bait. Hope this helps!
