- This was supposed to have been a 'Back to basics' makeover, the like of which I did 18 months ago or so. A simple classic Matchbox model given a rejuvenation. But, you know, what?, Kevin had to spoil it! - He came in at the end and totally unexpectedly , ruined the video! - I had no back up plan and therefore had to upload this video as I knew that I had promised it to my subscribers the week before! - So sorry that Kevin had to, once again, embarrass me, but I figured that something is better than nothing!

This was/is one of the best Matchbox vehicles. Very realistic and looks good on Model Railroads as well as diecast collectors shelves.

Great transformation. My first day on-board a WWII submarine, I was given a coarse bronze wool pad and torch, and shut inside a torpedo tube to clean it. Let out after 15 minutes, I was pronounced psychologically fit for duty. Thanks for the memories. Narragansett Bay.

Thanks Pete uk radio amateur mw6zan for your support, I agree! I really try my my best but it is not acknowledged more often than I would like! - Each video takes two to three days to complete and the special effects take another 12 hours or so!!

Who knew such a simple casting would be so relatively complex to work on. Nicely done! Thanks for showing us all the steps, I for one love the color matching as it's probably the most challenging to get right.

I had this one. Its funny you say you never noticed details when you played with them. I used to fall asleep with a cluster of matchbox trucks on my chest as i lay in bed as a little boy. I would be looking at all the details in my toys and i enjoyed that most of all about these little things, the tiny fantastic detail in there. Thank you Marty.

Great restoration as always, but most importantly as a viewer you are the sort of person I’d want to have a pint with.
Too many UA-cam characters these days are knobs / me me me, but I really like how your videos are about the fans and the models.
Marty:
I watch your makeover videos frequently enough when I am spending time on UA-cam, and I enjoy them a lot. It is nice to see someone producing videos of their hobby, with quality in mind.
I looked for an "only finished products" video within your playlists, to no avail. Unless I missed such a thing, wouldn't it be nice if you do a video of all of your finished projects, and just a review of your finished projects, up to a certain point in time? I watched your "bookshelf video", and that was nice for what it is. Yet a Marty's "Only Matchbox, Finished Product" video would be nice to watch, if you have enough finished Matchbox items at this point in time to produce a lengthy-enough video over.

Another great Rest. For removing paint from plastic, in the US we have a product called Super Clean. It is an automotive product, smells nice, is non-caustic, and removes almost all paints without destroying the plastic. As a side advantage it will also remove model chrome. I keep a vat on hand in a Tupperware container and bust it out when the need arrives. It never fails....
