Your channel has the absolute best cinematography, lifting content, information, and overall is the most enjoyable to watch. I love this channel. I attribute my deadlift to what I've learned here.
Dang that montage 11:54 is so juicy, well done, video guy! Even re-watched it. You guys should do a productions vlog - like what gear you use, how's your workflow set up etc.
My on-the-go sink recipe. 800-1000 kcal. Easy to manipulate macros: milk, whey, ground up porridge mix and walnut or sunflower oil. Top up with water. Two a day to gain.
Oooh Alexisonfire. I actually started listening to them after City & Colour. Will have to check out that full album, though I love Happiness by the Kilowatt.
Recently got into Powerlifting, had my first meet in June and I am 29 years old, loving the style of training as a former fatso. I really enjoy training for strength. Question: Whats the best way to avoid stalling? I always avoided legs when I was younger and couldn't deadlift conventional due to a childhood injury. That all changed when I found Sumo. I went from 225 DL to 415 but I am barely progressing anymore. I was doing Westside Barbell Conjugate Method for half a year before I started stalling. Should I just start doing deload weeks? They do not use deload methods and I feel thats mostly my issue. Blowing my brains out every session, 4 days a week. Love the content, keep it up.
It all depends on your power ratio. People who are lifting large ratios compared to their weight tend to do backoff/wash out weeks. If your grip starts to die even lifting warmups you probably should step back since it means your cns is burned out. If not, change your volume around.
A question about the use of singles in training: When using a top single (e.g. 1@8) in your training to dictate any subsequent back off sets, would you perform a single for each movement type for that day (say you were both benching and squatting on the same day) or would you only perform one single for the focus of that day (e.g. just the squat, with bench only being a variation movement)?
Takes leg drive out, forcing you to use the muscles in your upper body more to keep in place and stabilize, and reduces your ability to arch, so you've got an increased range of motion (which has a correlation with hypertrophy, or gains in muscle size). Can also be useful when you're dealing with a hip injury and can't get into the typical hyperextended hip position without pain.
so my left arm tends to flare out more than my right in the bench(more so towards the bottom)... could that cause pain in the upper pec/lower shoulder area that I have been having for weeks now ? xD it is more of a soreness that goes away after warm up... still odd... bench is getting strong regardless just worried about my left side being too flared out and possibly causing something worse down the road
Speaking from personal experience, it will cause a shitload of shoulder pain once you start lifting more. I had shoulder paid that felt like I needed to pop it constantly but it wouldn't go away. My worse case is when the shoulder pain was so bad in my bed that the only way I could sleep is in the fetal position, i layed their for 3 hours because it didn't hurt.
@@swagmassa6702 jesus that's nuts... I am approaching a 2x bw bench and my shoulder isnt necessarily bothering me much anymore ever since I started focusing on scapular retraction... but my left pec is constantly sore
Yea my shoulder pain is gone after I started doing face pulls/ rear delt exercises / retracting scapula and fixed my form. You're probably u sing your left pec more, can always test out it out on dumbell bench press
is training at around rpe9-10 for several weeks in a row good for some fast strength gains (beginner/intermediate lifter) also yes ik you will plateau decently fast but my friend added 20 pounds to his bench (now at 260) by doing this but i was wondering if you would recomend
Let me say that I absolutely love your channel and its content. However, I don't think I'm a complete fan of the recent videos' style. I guess I prefer the format of the previous videos and how they were more content-focused. I still like them, but not as much as the previous format. Bottom line, I still love your channel, and keep up the great work!
These videos are incredible. Seriously, so fun to watch.

Music and video editing is fantastic. And of course your training Bryce as always is brilliant to watch..
Nathan Drake has a very stressful job. Getting shot at while leaping from one collapsing building to another really gets to you.
Haha exactly!
Lol thanks for playing

Sick editing. Really enjoying this.
"Beef shakes, beef, lentils, stock, vegetables"
That's called soup, Bryce
Honestly the best video I've seen on your channel yet. Enlightening topic and awesome background ambient.
Kudos to the operator and who is making such great video editing, brilliant work!
I appreciate the response.
Alexisonfire...one of my favorite bands 🔥🔥🔥
Is that the fucking Last Day on Earth menu theme during the video?
Alexisonfire is such a good band. "Hey, It’s Your Funeral Mama" & "Young Cardinals" are 2 gym songs I STILL listen to when I'm training.

This particular video is so cool, we need more
and most of all we need more whistling ! 4:39 = international level whistler
Why did you put your feet on the bench when you did bench press 1:50 What does that do for you?
It eliminates leg drive, which for me does a number of things to make the bench press differently challenging. Try it out!
Ozark is such a good tv show !
How important is conventional DL and Conventional pattern accessories for building Sumo DL
ben ifer treat your competition stance as the main mover and the other as an accessory/assistance exercise. They compliment each other.
Very useful for building mass as a longer ROM with (almost) the exact same musculature used.
Oooh Alexisonfire. I actually started listening to them after City & Colour. Will have to check out that full album, though I love Happiness by the Kilowatt.
HI, at 11:52 what song is used ? thanks

BigNeptune i may not know nearly as much as Bryce or even someone whos competed but i would think a deload would for sure be beneficial
A deload could help. than after that start a new program with your new 1Repmax or estimated 1RepMax if you did heavy doubles or triples.
I'm amazed you were able to progress your deadlift that much doing westside.

New favourite channel
Not only did I learn about deload but also efficient ways to stalk people on facebook.
alexisonfire is awesome workout music. great choice

How does one pick up a powerlifter boy?
what are the benifits of feed up bench?

When I watch your videos, I think wow this guy isn't abnormal at all. Then I remember you're one of the strongest people in the world.
this video just reminds me of an 80's montage
where do you see the future of competitive equipped lifting going, with raw increasing in popularity
What are your thoughts on slow concentric training?
will u ever make a how to conventional deadlift video?
What is the music? Where can I find this?

Bryce has my goal physique.
Video quality @ RPE 10 🔥

you really got some big strong neck there dude!
Yesss to alexisonfire! Probably the only recommendation of yours I’ll ever know 😂
What the fuck is a centimeter?
