- Goodbye NMO! RESULTS: 6 Week Rapid Recovery Group
Patricia joined our 6 Week Rapid Recovery Group at 64 with Neuromyelitis Optica, a rare autoimmune disease that damages the spinal cord and optic nerves. She was unable to move her body or open her hands that have been deformed by disease. She lived in horrible pain with chronic spasms and hated life. She laid down flat in bed all day, unable to sit up or even roll over. She had to ask for help to roll over in bed. She needed other people to dress her, or adjust her position in bed.
Within a couple weeks in our group, she could roll over on her own and put her own shirt on! Her husband was in shock! She started coloring with her granddaughter. She started lifting weights! She had also lost her beautiful singing voice, and when it came back during our 6 week Rapid Recovery Group, she sang to us.
