Been following this for a while and it's cool to actually see where it's at! I know direct solder boards can be a pain for a lot of people and cause issues like the one you had but I personally have more luck with them than wires loll - glad it all worked out, beautiful build!
I just added a funny playing battery to my working gameboy color that had already been modded and the battery works. It turns on and the opening screen pops up but now no cartridges work.😢
@Jake - I know this is a 5 month old video, but I'm hoping you see this... What ever happened to this project? I can't find it on Natalie's page. Did she abandon it, is it completed but I just can't find it? Help!
there actually are a couple mods to put a GBA SP in a pocket-size form factor probably the best ones I’ve seen are Xipher’s GBA Slab SP and Humble Bazooka’s revision of that design (I think they’re calling it the GBA Gem?)

Perhaps the induction battery mod will also work as well in here. The gameboy pocket being flat it makes it even more relevant with this pocket color.

This mod makes me feel things. Like sadness for the second GBC. For real though, excellent mod.

Aren’t you suppose to sand the edge of the board you just cut to prevent the layers from shortening ?

Awesome build man. I happen to have a gameboy color board where the bottom half is heavily corroded so I figured the poco build would be perfect.

@@robertmartin7961 I did not; put all my gameboy/handheld projects on hold for a while. Hopefully I’ll tackle it before the end of the year lol
