Wobbling was known before Wobbles, but Wobbles was the player who most famously used it in the early era. Likewise, Ken didn't invent Marth's Ken combo, but it's still named after him because of his use of it. It's just how communities are.
Honestly this is the real reason to ban wobbling. The game is way more hype without it. Just imagine if wobbling never existed, we'd probably have more than a couple icies gods doing this stuff on the regular.
@@AllUpOns I feel it's less about hype and more about the concept of wobbling. It's one thing to perfect your character's movement and spacing to combo your opponent. It's a completely different matter when you just have to grab and press A until you win. We can respect and appreciate a skillful player winning. It's a lot harder to give that same sentiment to instant kills. We can at least respect the player skill when handoffs occur.

It’s possible for the player character to reactively jab the opponent in between each nana pummel to keep the opponent in a true combo but it’s hard to remember to do in the heat of the moment

I think my favorite ice climbers clip ever is Wobbles doing handoffs into a charged nana f smash, only to then grab the opponent again before they fly away for another handoff to kill. You can really get so creative with this character. I wish Wobbles still played competitively, he was always so amazing to watch.

Forever ago I was helping to run a video game evening at the local library. Anyone could come in and play but it was mostly maybe 8 - 12 year olds. I had brought in my GC and Melee among other things, so was running that station. Eventually one guy, probably in his late teens, came in and started using infinites and wavedashing. I gave him a couple rounds to flex, but eventually had to pull him aside, and say 'Dude, you can keep playing, but some of these kids have never picked up a controller before. You gotta match how hard you're playing to who you're playing against.'

I love video games and have a history of getting super into higher level play, but I can't help feeling sad when I see new kids/young adults devoting their life to a video game. Try to put a little time into a skill that doesn't require a screen, you'll be happier!

I know it's such a tiny thing, yet also so humbling to see, it only last 3-4 seconds at 3:36 when Blu wins and GG Zane looks at Blu, raises his brow and widens his eyes in respect that he beat him cleanly with Ice Climbers. You can see the smile beneath his mask, and they shakes hands. That small action speaks wonders on sportsmanship and respect the smash community has, and is something more games should strive for. Edit: sorry I called "ble/slug"' as "blu" I'm not super embedded in the pro smash scene, I just saw this as extremely humble.
i didn't even know about competitive melee until i was 17 but i can tell you that as a casual melee player, my friends and i found many of those doubles infinite grab combos. lots of memories of just laughing while the dude getting infinite combo'd put their controller down and went to go get a snack while we destroyed their lifeless body LOL
Honestly, so glad wobbling was banned. It was, as a spectator, a set killer. Handoffs are so much more hype and they keep the momentum up. They're definitely at home in the Melee "build-a-combo" game play.
The funniest thing about the wobbling nerf is that it barely affects their tier placement. ICs are still around the level of yoshi/pika/samus and are often #8 on tier lists even post ban.

The skill necessary, the "will they drop it?" tension, and just how much variety there is in how handoffs can be done make them far more sick than wobbling could ever hope to be. That is a good infinite.

An infinite I used to do in 2v2’s with my friend was a marth grab then charging the mewtwo ball on the grabbed opponent . Since the ball hit the person they get infstunned along with it looking really funny. You can also get two falcos shooting gun from across the map, it only works on people who don’t know what they’re doing though.

These are waaay more interesting, difficult, have some counter play, and most importantly FUN TO WATCH. My god, my absolute number one issue with wobbling was how fucking *boring* it was for literally everyone involved. Every person who used it to win was killing fun for the sake of a W and I hate that mentality

I just realized Kazuya's stupid combos have all of the same gameplay issues everyone had with wobbling except for looking boring, but he isn't banned while wobbling (and Steve) is.
Just to clarify: basic ledge handoffs are only an infinite at a TAS level. At a human level, these combos are limited by stage space.

It’s possible for the player character to reactively jab the opponent in between each nana pummel to keep the opponent in a true combo but it’s hard to remember to do in the heat of the moment

I think my favorite ice climbers clip ever is Wobbles doing handoffs into a charged nana f smash, only to then grab the opponent again before they fly away for another handoff to kill. You can really get so creative with this character. I wish Wobbles still played competitively, he was always so amazing to watch.

Forever ago I was helping to run a video game evening at the local library. Anyone could come in and play but it was mostly maybe 8 - 12 year olds. I had brought in my GC and Melee among other things, so was running that station. Eventually one guy, probably in his late teens, came in and started using infinites and wavedashing. I gave him a couple rounds to flex, but eventually had to pull him aside, and say 'Dude, you can keep playing, but some of these kids have never picked up a controller before. You gotta match how hard you're playing to who you're playing against.'
How did he respond?

I know it's such a tiny thing, yet also so humbling to see, it only last 3-4 seconds at 3:36 when Blu wins and GG Zane looks at Blu, raises his brow and widens his eyes in respect that he beat him cleanly with Ice Climbers. You can see the smile beneath his mask, and they shakes hands. That small action speaks wonders on sportsmanship and respect the smash community has, and is something more games should strive for.

i didn't even know about competitive melee until i was 17 but i can tell you that as a casual melee player, my friends and i found many of those doubles infinite grab combos. lots of memories of just laughing while the dude getting infinite combo'd put their controller down and went to go get a snack while we destroyed their lifeless body LOL
Honestly, so glad wobbling was banned. It was, as a spectator, a set killer. Handoffs are so much more hype and they keep the momentum up. They're definitely at home in the Melee "build-a-combo" game play.
Crazy how icies went from incredibly lame high tier to incredibly cool mid tier overnight. They're dope to watch now.

The funniest thing about the wobbling nerf is that it barely affects their tier placement. ICs are still around the level of yoshi/pika/samus and are often #8 on tier lists even post ban.

The skill necessary, the "will they drop it?" tension, and just how much variety there is in how handoffs can be done make them far more sick than wobbling could ever hope to be. That is a good infinite.

An infinite I used to do in 2v2’s with my friend was a marth grab then charging the mewtwo ball on the grabbed opponent . Since the ball hit the person they get infstunned along with it looking really funny. You can also get two falcos shooting gun from across the map, it only works on people who don’t know what they’re doing though.
Samsies but my homie was Shiek instead of Marth. Just dash into a charge after they land a grab :)

Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!
