- This was my first trip out with my vintage camping group at Roan Mountain State Park, then I went on a solo trip to Watauga Dam Campground, outside of Elizabethton TN. Filmed in April 2024.

Me too! There were people tent camping at Roan Mountain, and it sure was cold that weekend! No tents allowed at the other campground, because of bears.

Not sure I could stroll by without gawking and saying hello.
It usually depends on what campsite I am on, as to whether or not people come over to talk to me. I was at one campsite at Roan Mountain State Park, and every time somebody walked by, they stopped and talked to me. At other campsites, no one talks to me. I love to show it off, so it doesn't bother me.
Nasty rain although there are times when we do really need it
So true. I really don't like camping in the rain though, especially when it's cold.

Doreen what a beautiful camping spot BUT it would drive me crazy not to have internet or music or something. I have TV on all day even if I'm not watching it just for the noise. 😁
I don't have a TV set up, so that wouldn't bother me, but the quiet did bother me. I would have at least liked to have some music.

My car is a Ford Escape, with a 2.0 engine, and a factory tow package, which gives it a tow rating of 3500 lbs. My camper is a 1987 Cadet, fiberglass, and weighs about 1,000 lbs. Thanks for subscribing!
