  • - Is Elizabethton Tennessee a good place to live? People from out of state are beginning to move to northeast TN, partly due to the runup in prices in the Nashville and surrounding areas that make them less attractive. Johnson City, Kingsport, and our hometown of Bristol make up the "Tri-cities" and are becoming a better alternative to some people.
    Here's one of the smaller towns that surrounds the Tri-cities, Elizabethton, TN.

    Watauga Lake is breathtaking. If you long for the 1950s, Elizabethton has that sweet old vibe.

    I was born in Elizabethton tn in 1960 at Carter county memorial hospital now demolished and replaced by other buildings. We moved away in 1969 and I moved back in 1984 to 1991 and moved to reno nevada..it's nice to see my hometown get noticed..I love that place..we crossed the covered bridge all through the 60s to go to Watauga lake and valley forge and Hampton tn but now you can only walk across it..this is a beautiful video of my hometown.

    I live about 8 miles east of Elizabethton out Stoney Creek. I chose it for so many reasons I can't list them all. I have even had people follow me to this area because I loved it so much and now they do also. The only thing I see as a concern is that some people seem to come here for the financial advantages, but then want to change it to what they had before. It's great the way it is and I would encourage anyone interested in coming here, not to change it, but let it change you. I can't imagine being anywhere else. TN. itself was listed as 3rd in over all liberty and above all else, that's why I am here.

    I live in Elizabethton and have been here my whole 43 years. The only problem with this town is the traffic during the day. The town is only 14,000 people but many times that drive through every day going to work in Johnson City or other places.

    I’ve lived in Elizabethton Tennessee all my life. It’s a beautiful place to live. They only thing wrong with it in my opinion is the people in city hall who only does what’s good for themselves and nots what’s good for the city like I said that’s my opinion and I’m entitled to mine. The taxes are very high and everyone wonders where the money is spent

    Retiring in a few years and love to RV. Live near Detroit. We were contemplating taking the travel trailer south in the winter, but now researching reversing that - living in TN or SC and RV the summers in Michigan. This area looks wonderful, but I worry vacating a home for months at a time in an area where we don't know anybody. Also thought about vacant land..

    I moved here three and a half years ago from Dallas Texas. The metroplex was too hectic for my wife and I and we packed everything up that would fit in our SUV, sold everything else, and headed in the direction of Tennessee. We initially landed in Bristol, I finally made our way and found a home in Elizabethton. One of the best decisions of my life. It's gorgeous here and it seems like everybody treats everybody with respect. They are not a fan of blinkers here though, but the alternative is metroplex driving... So I'll stick with the blinker thing. Great video thanks for sharing.

    What areas are prone to the airport noise / traffic? Does Elizabethton have the weird aromas I've been reading that exist in the JC area?

    • @TNVAHomeTeam
      @TNVAHomeTeam  Рік тому +3

      Elizabethton has a very small local airport, located on the outskirts of town, NE of downtown. I've never seen a plane take off or land when driving by. Just not sure if you'd notice any noise to speak of. Traffic is pretty much non-existent.
      Also, I've never noticed any strange smells there or in JC. Kingsport has some industrial odors at time due to a paper plant and chemical plant.
