    Working in Japan in a foreign company, I wholeheartedly agree with this. Never ever work for Japanese IT companies.

      @@shanesmith5198 I see, Shane! Japan is definitely a fantastic place to live, and if you know where to look, can be an amazing place from the work and financial accumulation side of things as well. Me for example, in my decade of living in Tokyo, have done quite well financially for myself where I could quit work and focus on writing a book for a year, as well as currently live quite comfortably in the second highest residential building in Bangkok right now with my wife, enjoying the all-year-round good weather while mostly living off of the income that I made back in Japan.
      Could I have gained all of this financial independence if, let's say, I spent my decade of the most productive and energetic years of my life, starting off working at Bangkok instead of Tokyo? Absolutely and utterly not.
      So despite the negativity surrounding Japan these days in terms of the nation's economic decline, what people don't realize is that Japan is still the 3rd largest economy in the entire world, meaning a lot of money to be made, while having the sharpest decrease in the people of working age in the world as well, meaning A LOT of job vacancies where you could enter, and take advantage financially. But again, definitely have to be careful where to head though, as you do NOT want to enter one of these black companies that I have mentioned in this video.
      Anyways, this comment got way too long haha. Best of luck to you Shane, and please feel free to read my pinned comment if you would like to know a bit more into my background! Look forward to seeing you around!

    Because the wages are 5h1t and the hours are out of this world.
    It's better if you can work for a Western IT company, like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo etc;

    I'm curious what are the IT jobs that needs someone to be in Japan. Helpdesk, coding, system/network/database/cloud administration, and more are routinely outsourced around the world. I understand marketing needs a local.
    Coding is usually done in English while the user interface is in the local language.

      Outsourcing has a bunch of risks involved that might overshadow the money you can save. By outsourcing you lose control over what technology you can employ, projects are harder to manage which can lead to scope creep etc etc. This might also lose you your competitive edge, because you can't adapt and change as you like to external or internal pressures, not a problem for monopolies in general but can be for smaller companies. And then you also have to find someone to outsource to that you can trust will actually be able to do the job adequately, which is harder and riskier than it sounds. All that without going into problems that can occur regarding time zones and culture differences. Lots of companies outsource seeing the BIG NUMBER $$ they can save and then lose out in the long run from the soft benefits they lost.

After I get my expertise I'm just leaving, if they ask why I'm leaving we'll just say I don't like the situation I'm working and then you can negotiate something with the company, if they refuse well, bye2. All you need is skill and little bit of luck for looking a job
