    ------------
In one of our previous videos, I’ve discussed how social issues such as the homeless teenage Toyoko kids have been on the rise in Japan.
And according to research conducted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, as of January 2019, there were 1126 homeless people living in Tokyo.
So with that said, in today’s video, I’d like to bring a fresher topic in which I believe no Japan-based UA-camr has yet to introduce,
which is the list of well-known homeless areas, as in, the Skid Rows of Tokyo, as well as explain the history of the homeless problem in Japan.
    So let’s get into it.

Thank you so much for supporting our channel 🙏.

At my work, when the workers are 60 years old, they are fired. They say it's a new policy.

This is a great channel, people really need to wake up to the real Japan. I've onnly learnt about things like this in the past couple months, everyone just automatically assumes it must be a perfect place.

There is no such thing as a perfect place. However, compared to many parts of the United States, Japan is much better live in.

That story of encampments in Shinjuku reminds me a lot of the riots in Tompkin Square Park that took place in the late 80s to early 90s in New York City. A similar public and government response as well.

Did see a few homeless in parks when i visited Tokyo in 2018. Most of the homeless I saw were elderly. Very sad.

You have to differentiate between homeless by choice and homeless by force.

Can you do content about Hikikomori in Japan? Also, there is another problem about birthrate in Japan is too low. Can you do lowest birthrate in Japan content just before or after Hikikomori content?

a good start look to be simple.. open up for "post box addresses" to count as a home address. or set up some sort of "mail box center" that will give the ppl there own address. then some of them can start the journey to get back on there feet by them self's.

We gratify excess and silly pop idols, but can't figure out a way to treat the misfortunate with more respect? Can we really call ourselves evolved in a positive way? I know this isn't one size fits all, but there doesn't seem to be an honest attempt. We lack empathy and praise greed.

I thought there was plenty of homes in smaller places where is abandoned and no ownership, are these place forbidden?

    • @xShurax

1 year old comment, however to still answer this as best as I can: It's forbidden in the sence that squatting (term used to refer to making us of unowned/abandoned land) is illegal. A lot of buildings might be abandoned, but they technically still might have some form of owner - In which case, making use of that building/land without compensating the owner would be forbidden. Because abandoned buildings are, well, abandoned, they also might be a safety threat, which comes as a good excuse for law enforcement to clear a squatted building without causing too much public uproar, while also not addressing the problem of buildings being abandoned while homelessness rises.

You know that japan adopt dumping politics right? Where the price inside the country is made higher. This system force the citizen to work hard for survival, creating a subconscious workaholic also this is a way to rule the citizen so they are too busy with work so they don't have time to do bad thing.
And yes the problem is human power is not unlimited, they grow old and weak to the point they no longer can provide income for their own survival, they are too exhausted burn out and become apathy. When they no longer can compete yes you guess it either become outcast or prostitute.
