Took me way too long because of my military service (and it being a pain to write), but it's here. Thalassa Gramarye finally reveals the truth behind Lamiroir, and Apollo and Trucy's parentage.

This is the first of 3 videos that I'll post, where Thalassa Gramarye ties up all her loose ends with the people of her life. This one starts with her two children, Apollo Justice and Trucy Wright.
Expect to see more details of Thalassa's days in the Troupe Gramarye, alongside her father Magnifi in the second part.

@@CoolyCools It happened when Dhurke and Apollo first met at the agency (or when Trucy was there) and basically told Apollo that Trucy looks so good she could be a perfect wife for him. It was on the second part of Turnabout Revolution I think
Yeah, I don't think Capcom wants to open the Can of Worms Factory of the Gramaryes. What's next? Grand uncle, Thalassa's sibling(s),cousins or an off-branch of the troupe? Oh! Mr. Reus brother!
I know this is a bit late (about 8 months too late), but I really have to commend the writing for this. It’s very in character for all of the characters involved. I’ve seen previous versions of this interaction before, but I think this one is easily the best. Trucy almost immediately accepting her as her mother is very much in character, while I find Apollo’s caution to be in character as well. I personally like to think Apollo still needs time to fully process the bombshell that was dropped on him, but as for him accepting her as his mother- that’s anyone’s guess.
TL;DR, great job and excellent writing.

I think we can give Nahyuta a free pass, at least on behalf of his father's stupid comment. He might be (more than) a bit hard on himself for unknowingly dogging on his brother's sister during the Mr. Reus case, but I doubt Thalassa or Trucy will hold that against him. At best, MAYBE he vaguely remembers Thalassa himself, but I'll bet his mother absolutely does.

Omg this is so amazing! The effort is so godly. Thalassa's sprites are amazing! The troupe outfit and her pulling her gloves to show her bracelet... that's just spectacular. Jove looks really handsome, too, despite only being there for a mere seconds. And the ending was funny, Polly fainting is entertaining. I really wish the reveal was like this if only Capcom makes a new game and tells them that they're siblings!!!!!!! Can't wait for pt 2 and 3. Hope u enjoy ur break
Thalassa's sprites and animations were by far the hardest and most time consuming part of this vid, so I'm glad you like 'em 😁
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this video. The sprites are amazing, Apollo and Trucy are perfectly in-character, and I just want to give Thalassa a hug after everything she's been through. Wonderful job, and I can't wait for the next parts!

Judging from Apollos expression when thalassa starts tzlking about her husband, and how he was a muscian who passed away, i think he already started to have a feeling that she might have been talking about his dad.
Well, that reveal went about as well as expected. I loved the writing and overall tone of this video and I’m looking forward to part two. I have a good guess as to who the person Thalassa wants to visit, but I’ll hold my thoughts until it comes out.

From all the lols made based on this subject, this one ought to be the most ambitious and so far it has delivered. Definitely worth all the wait.
Btw I also have a friend going through military service atm whilst I'm completing my alternative service too. So I'm all too familiar with the feeling, that no matter how much time passes between talks, that bond makes it seem as if no time had passed at all. Know that content like yours is the same, akin to seeing an old friend, and we all welcome it.

And a moment like this is exactly the one and only issue I had with Apollo staying in Khura'in at the end of SoJ.
Capcom robbed us of ever having this reveal.
We'll never get this officially which is such a waste.
You've basically shown us the closest thing we are ever gonna get to this big moment and it's as amazing as I hoped it would ever be.
Huh? Apollo literally promised to return from Khurai'in someday. They can still have this reveal. Though knowing Capcom, they'll want to tie it into a case somehow. Hopefully not one where Thalassa pulls a Misty Fey impression.

I feel like Apollo and Trucy will never learn theyre related, because no matter what game it happened in, it would spoil Apollo Justice for new comers, and spoilers in a mystery game is kinda non-negotiable

Spoilers:
The Gramarye Tragedy in the nutshell:
- Magnifi: This bastard who was obsessed by his magic and his daughter, caused the whole tragedy, using his daughter’s "death" as blackmail material on his apprentices before killing himself like the coward he is to escape his fate.
- Thalassa: A victim of circumstances who lost her first husband because of the selfish interests of a selfish pretender of the Khurain’s throne before she lost everything again in an accident, blinding her at the same time.
- Virgil: A selfish piece of shit who framed an innocent man for a murder that wasn’t even a crime to begin with because he was jealous of him and his love for Thalassa.
- Zacchary: A poor man who both lost his wife but also his whole carreer as a magician after Maginifi’s trial before losing his life 10 years after by the hands of a selfish lawyer.
- Reus: A man who was too obsessed by his pride that he lost the sight of what make a true magician, manipulating a young man to be a magician before killing him remorsely just to frame Trucy for murder...kinda like what Virgil did even if this former didn’t kill anyone, just tampered with the scene.
- Trucy: Thalassa’s daughter and a girl who was caught in his family’s dark secrets like for Maya, Mia and Pearls. At least, unlike Maya, she was only framed for murder once.
- Apollo: A young lawyer who was just living his life as an attorney before learning he was in fact Thalassa’s first son and Trucy’s brother. Then he learned his father was killed by Khurain’s "actual" queen, his grandfather was a piece of shit obsessed by his title, his step-dad was killed by Khurain’s minister of justice, his half-brother sacrify his morality to protect his sister (also Apollo’s half-sister in a way, lol) and his mother was the unexpected Lamiroir (before the final twist in Apollo Justice reveal). Yeah, a real fucked up family between a twisted magic family and a royal conspiracy.
That's a real nice synopsis of the entire Gramarye drama, but now I can't stop thinking of Valant singing "I am the storm that is approaching" xD

This asshole KNEW the journal page Phoenix Wright had was a fake and said NOTHING.
He left his own daughter at the hands of the lawyer he basically helped destroy his career.
AND THEN HE COMES BACK FROM HIDING TO DESTROY THE CAREER IF THE SAME GUY FOR THE SECOND TIME, WHILE HE WAS TAKING CARE OF HIS DAUGHTER OUT OF SPITE FOR LOSING A CARD GAME!

Maybe giving Zak a liiiiiiiiiiittle too much credit here. Valant framing Zak was bad, but he ultimately turned himself in out of guilt.
Zak was MUCH worse, not only completely abandoning his 8 year old daughter, leaving her a homeless orphan and lying to her by telling her he'd be back, but actively using and coercing her into aiding with his escape. Then comes out of nowhere 7 years later to hand the performance rights over to her (because that's all he ever *really* cared about above her well-being), doesn't show his face to her, tries to frame her current guardian who picked up his deadbeat slack for cheating (potentially costing him his only livelihood at this point, and therefore indirectly hurting Trucy), and when his plan is foiled, get so irrationally angry that he assaults a woman before being killed.
Zak is a piece of garbage. Circumstances be damned.

But by following your logic, it would have been better to bring her in his judicial problems caused both by Virgil (who only turned himself AFTER Zak was murdered, not before...so his "turned by guilt" is a shitty excuse) and Kristoph ? What life would she had gain from that ? Her life became better after she was adopted by Phœnix, which was probably a gamble made by Zak as he trusted Phœnix’s abilities to give her a better future than if she was with him in his fugitive life.
Zak didn’t called since all this time because he knew someone stalked him as the journalist said and we all knows Kristoph wouldn’t feel any remorse to murder a child just to give pain to Zak. For f*ck sake, he already planned to murder the painter’s daughter in 7 years just to cover his crimes. Zak wasn’t stupid, he knew there would be a way for him to somehow listen to his conversations and found about Trucy...because Kristoph knew Trucy’s face after using her to give the fake handwriting not to Phœnix. If it wasn’t for the magic trick and Phœnix adopting her, her dead body would probably had been found at some time.
Okay, Zak planned to frame Phœnix for cheating in a cards play...so ? He was murdered after that. Is that karma for you as he was a "piece of garbage" ? I think it’s a little too much as "retributions" but hey, you have your own opinion.
Dunno if you have a child yourself but if you were in his shoes, would you have force her to live in your fugitive life, waiting to be killed by your stalker and probably your daughter too...or would you somehow trust the person who tried to defend you despite the odds to try to give her a better life, even if you die before meeting her again ?
Who knows if Zak already knew he would be murdered that night and knowing how Phœnix won some of his matches, try to have Trucy away from this in order for her to be safe ? After all, for Kristoph, killing his daughter too wouldn’t be much of a bother.
Being honest, that sounds so accurate, simply love it, also it's a nice change of pace for both characters.
Also, I wished to see Trucy thoughts about Phoenix as her father and Zak. Honestly, I never liked Zak's character at all, not only did he abandon Trucy, he definitely was a very shady individual and also a competitive person, to the point he was willing TO END Phoenix career AGAIN even he's was doing his job. Of course Kristoph is the real reason of Phoenix's disbarment, but the fact the rights were all the time with Zak and he simply gave ZERO information about everything was even worse. Guy even planned his escapade. People remember Magnify for his heindious acts, but Zak did bad as him, if not even worse.
That said, excellent video! Simply perfect!
You have such a great grasp of these characters, this is perfectly in-character and should be canon (I for one will take it as such). The biggest appeal of Ace Attorney for me are the characters and character interactions so I love your videos! :D

Misty Fey was definitely discarded horribly by the writers imho, Maya and Trucy didn't even try to at least channel her at some point lol

I love how we all have imagined Thalassa's reveal to her sons as sweet and heartfelt when there would be such humorous scenes during it. I mean that moment Thalassa is told that Trucy and Apollo were told to marry is gold.

I would imagine that the revelation would be much more dramatic than this, especially since that Apollo and Trucy are in two different regions. I can imagine a never-before-seen photo of Jove and Thalassa's marriage with both their original first and last names written on the photo being sent to Apollo and/or Trucy. Apollo would be shaking and quaking by already knowing that Thalassa is Trucy's mother right before he slowly faints and falls in front of Datz and Albi.
I could imagine Trucy tearing up if Lamiroir revealed herself to be her mother and immediately approaching for a hug. Hopefully neither Trucy nor Thalassa are kidnapped by (DeKiller or other) assassins for ransom before that has a chance to happen.
Thing is, there wouldn't be any photo of Jove. During the end of SoJ, Thalassa, after seeing Jove's photo, admits that it had been way too many years since she last saw Jove's face and thanked Phoenix for showing her his picture. Which means that she had no photo of him.
And to be honest, as much as both Apollo and Trucy would be dumbfounded to learn that Thalassa was alive and their mother, in the end neither of them grew up with Thalassa. Apollo never lived with her, and Trucy was too young to remember her when she "died". So despite the revelation she'd still be like a complete stranger at first, and it would take time for the three of them to adjust to being an actual family.
And don't jinx it with the whole deKiller debacle, keep him away from the Gramarye family xD

While both Trucy and Apollo didn't live with their mother, they did cases together without knowing they are siblings, Apollo would still quake at finding out he had a sister all along.

Other characters:"Btw, you are siblings."
Apollo:"No! Sist- Wait, what?"
I waited to watch all these until they were all out. I'm very happy about how this turned out! Great work as always!

The Thalassa sprites are all custom made -and a real pain to make tbh- by me. Polished her concept art/poster image, drew her arms and clothes from scratch here and there and added her face and hair from when she got her memories back in Apollo Justice.
As for a collab, we'll definitely discuss it when I get more lax with my service -unfortunately I return to camp on Tuesday so expect another month of no uploads :(

After Thalassa walk out to see other members, Phoenix wright walk in to comfort 2 "kids" but get interogated by both Apollo and Trucy, then Athena & Maya walk in, turn into court-like with each person as follow position:
- Judge: Maya (have experience in court and about dealing with people "coming back")
- Prosecutor: Apollo (Take most damage from this event and want answer the most)
- Defendant: Phoenix Wright (Crime of knowing ahead and could predict how thing turn out but choose to stay still)
- Witness: Trucy (witness whole event while stay concious)
- Defense attorney: Athena (someone need to stand on this position)

I don't see how Thalassa has a better claim to the Gramarye rights than Trucy. Magnifi transferred the rights to Shadi, not Thalassa. Blood relation doesn't really matter.
Doesn't matter, that's just how Trucy saw it, hence why Thalassa reprimanded her on the matter and told her that the rights are hers
EDIT: Not to mention, if inheritance laws are anything like the real life ones in Ace Attorney, then blood relation of first degree like parent-child does matter and a lot. Thalassa would have every right to contest Magnifi's will and demand at least a share of the rights as his legal child. If she wanted to, that is.

Yeah I hadn't played SoJ until the end when I made this video (I had just beat Andhistandin I think), so I didn't know Apollo was in Khura'in after the end xD
One solution would be to change the place of this video to Khura'in (as in Phoenix gathering Apollo and Trucy in Khura'in and Lamiroir visiting there)

Wait, that photo of Thalassa with two bracelets-- do we know when it was taken? Because I have the impression it was Zak's photo of her as Trucy's mother. But by then, she would have already given one bracelet to Apollo. So that photo must be... from before any marriage or kids?
Due to the logical contradiction caused by what you just mentioned, since she and Zak were members of the Troupe even before Thalassa's first marriage, we'll be forced to assume that Zak simply kept on him an older photo of Thalassa from before Jove Justice died.
