Unless your house has lots of direct natural light, dark paint colours on the walls will make the place very gloomy, especially in winter. I’d stick with off-white or light neutral colours.
Beautiful scenery Sean lovely walk. I wouldn't go for dark colour makes room look smaller. Stick to lighter colours or shades. The green sure you could get in a Slightly lighter hue.
Beautiful scenery! I love the cardamom color for your wall! I once painted an accent wall in my small office in a similar color (a tad darker) and with soft light from lamps, it's very elegant and cozy.
Nature in its full glory. Beautiful walk Sean, and the views were stunning. Hope your fellow walker is ok. Paint colours are such an individual taste. If you like it then perfect. Go with what makes you happy.
Thanks for another stunning walk Sean, we really are blessed to live in such a beautiful country. I appreciate being able to accompany you from the comfort of my armchair, you are a star⭐️🥰
Beautiful photography. Thankyou for the chance to share your walking adventures….feeling that breeze and hearing the flowing water and birds. Stunning. My thoughts n your colour choices…..come winter your cottage will feel dark and claustrophobic. The colours are too light absorbing and give no warmth. You have a beautiful green chair. A blue background or even a gold, will make the room feel cosy and happy. If you take blues and greens as your colour scheme for the whole house, it will bring in the outside feel that you so enjoy being out in. It will refresh your soul and lift your spirit on a dull grey winter day. 🙂
What beautiful scenery & stunning views. Its nice to see you appreciating your surroundings, so many people take it for granted & probably don't realise how lucky they are to live in such beautiful areas. Hope the lady who fell is ok. Another wonderful video Sean. Thanks for taking us all along
All the beautiful ancient greens ,fernery, trees and waterfalls of your wonderful homeland, woodland walk ,I believe it must be a magical fairy 🧚♂️🧚🧚♀️dwelling 😊🌿
Beautiful walk Sean, but a shame the camera has gone ..What a lovely area you live in, so nice to be able to share it too.. Your choice for the paint , so if you think it will look good, do it ..
The cardamom is lovely and will look gorgeous as a feature wall Sean. Another great video. I actually loved listening to the crunch underfoot as you were walking up the mountain. Hope the lady who fell makes a speedy recovery.
Good morning Sean, thank you for another's lovely video an taking us with you on walk in woods ,so sorry for the lost of your camera, thought I saw it once but must have been a stone, also glad the lady who fell appeared to be relatively ok as she was smiling, hope no long term damages. I like the off white paint for stairs think the Black might draw in the space a bit. Perhaps the badger green be lovely on the bannister of stairs. But it's totally your choice pet, as you be living with it. An we be happy for you in your happy place. Take care our Sean, stay Safe while walking in woods. No slipping allowed. Blessings an love wished for you dear Sean! Sonja😊
Thankyou for sharing Sean, So much enjoyed this video, had hour dead heading in my cottage garden then thought right, see what Seans doing today, sit down, cup of tea, beautiful 😊
Thank you for the lovely walk, I could just paddle in the stream, it’s hot, been to the RHS flower show at Tatton park today, very warm but enjoyed, all the beautiful displays and flowers, you would enjoyed, saw the deer and the baby’s, at the entrance,
What a beautiful place to witness on your walk and so peaceful. It would be nice if your camera is found. Could def see the solar panel. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place on the river. ❤
The dark colours will make you feel depressed in the winter months.I think you need to look again ,get a colour chart and see what looks nice in the dark of an evening..Lovely walk and the water looks nice and clean .Enjoy the rest of your week.
what a beautiful walk through the forest, pity about the camera. Your choice of paint colours sounds great so if you are happy with them go for it. Don't wear yourself out though with too many projects, leave yourself time for some fun.
The colour for a feature wall is nice. I also like the colour you don’t remember wanting. Would be a nice feature in a bedroom or lounge. Lovely walk I hope your walking group person is doing much better. If I fell I could not get up so I was pleased to see she got help.
Oh I could have sa5 there by that water for hours just reminiscing ,how beautiful .I've had many holidays in Wales and it never fails to amaze me .Thankyou Sean bootiful .
It is so beautiful where you live. If I still had my mobility, I would book a holiday to Wales and come and do some walking. I enjoy seeing the countryside through your videos.
My Nan always told me how good the water was in Birmingham and how pure and soft it was because it came from the Welsh mountains. There was less lime build up in kettles and showers and you could use less soap and detergent because you can get a better lather with soft water.
Such a wonderful woodland walk Sean, I was thinking I would love to place a GoPro under the water and try to film the aquatic life, may I ask where you got your homstead shed from, as I am going to replace my old shed on the allotment, and I like the fact that yours has a side door and opening windows, all the best and have a lovely day, Terry.
Hi Sean, oh wow what a scenic video I loved your walk in the woods lovely to see and hear the stream and on the mountain such stunning views! I don't mind wind turbines either! Hope the lady who had a fall is okay now? Re the paint, as you asked, I'm not overly fond of the Cardamom colour it looks too dark - I'd go for a lighter colour in a small room but as I often say in these situs that's just my opinion! If it is Farrow and Ball paint, I quite like Faded Terracotta No. CC8 or Sulking Room Pink no. 295 which is a browny pink? But anyway probably not your taste! Take care until next time! 🙂
Enjoyed your walk and paddle through the water . Scenery stunning love the sound of the water. Hope your fellow walker is OK from their fall. I would do your feature wall in the dark colour , not the whole room . Many years ago I wanted this black oriental wallpaper in a small toilet. Husband was against it said it would make the room dark and smaller. He wa right it was like theblack hole of Calcutte. He redid it the next day
I believe you were singing Handles Messiah - I used to take my boys to my rehearsals and I remember my three year old son hoping down our stairs singing his version “ We are all sheep “ hop.. “ we are all sheep” hop .. lol thanks for taking me down memory lane with that-I enjoyed your walk immensely and you are correct that here in Canada we do like our weekend cottages in both summer and winter. As per the paint - I don’t see an issue with an accent wall having a dramatic color. You seem to enjoy green- so go for it. In the winter you may enjoy it. 😊 👍
Really injoyed the walk amongst the trees and water loved it , but maybe there's something rong with me , but i really dont like the windmills, to me they are a blite on the country side give me a tree anyday , injoy your tea ❤❤❤
Sometimes pure wilderness streams aren't so pure - water in some areas of my part of eastern Canada are known to have giardia. The result is called "beaver fever" locally because beavers are a known host to the parasite. But some places do have springs. I lived for a while in a small place in which the public water supply was all surface water in an area full of bogs. The colour and taste, especially after a heavy rain were, um, not nice. There was enough chlorine added to prevent the transmission of disease, but the complications of chlorine + sediment were less easy to deal with. Some people went to a spring - I used to get drinking water from someone I knew who had an artesian well. The pre-public water supply water, shallow wells, had even worse problems.
gorgeous videos of the stream and its little falls!! it would be perfect to sit at for a couple hours and read a book or have a nap. Im sorry you've lost your camera, they do disappear. My garden is horriffic with the heat of 30s and no rain, the spinach is seed, but the peas and beans are limited growth despite watering, and the tomatoes are nice. seen later that you had those little bottles in the back still
❤❤❤❤❤ Hi Sean, from Delaware, USA. I love the Cardamon color!!!! I think it will feel very cozy. The stair colors will compliment beautifully! Nice choices ❤❤❤❤❤. I enjoy these videos so much. There is so much chaos around here, it’s nice to feel the peace I feel from your videos. Thank you
The paint for your accent wall is beautiful but I think it will be darker than you're thinking. Can you paint one stripe, maybe 15 inches or so long and live with that a week to see if you still love it? I enjoyed the walk to the wind farm and back and loved the forest around the river! So beautiful! What great exercise too!
Bore da Sean, Thank you so much for taking us in the river, oh my gosh I enjoyed that so much & will be one I watch a few times. Took me right back to my childhood & the hours we spent playing in the woods behind our house & where my great love of nature came from. That was amazing, shame about the camera though, that spot would have made a great live stream video. So sorry but I don’t like black & blue on walls but loved the green khaki type colour. I think it’s just personal preference & you must go with whatever you like for your walls. Thanks again for an absolutely awesome video today Sean. Annie🏴
I find that dark colours in a small room, if done right, can have the effect of making the space seem bigger as the corners of the room recede. I have my front room painted a very dark blue - alnost black - and in winter its so cosy. As long as you get the lighting right it works lovely. 😁❤️ Glorious weather for your river walk. Loved it! ❤️❤️❤️
Ohhh what a beautiful cool walk 😊 I do love a green mossy dell stream. Shame about the camera 😞 I find wind farms quite majestic and the mountain walk looked quite stunning and so peaceful. Wall colours are really personal and although the perceived wisdom is that they make a room smaller they can also make it cosy and if you like it then go for it! After all you’re the one living with it!! I loved the final green colour you showed reminds me of our lounge. Colour is good the one trend I really can’t stand (totes personal view 😂) is pairing everywhere grey in every room!!! Have fun with your colours!!!!
Lovely video Sean. I like the Cardamom as a colour but I don’t like the colour combination of your lovely turquoise chair in front of it. They clash and don’t complement each other at all. However, having said that, if you like it that’s all that matters!
Oh so beautiful down there reminds me of "Necturns Glen in Cornwall ,love the mossy greens in that valley and the clear water streams ,heaven ,pure heaven thankyou
It's interesting to see you have fireweed. Ours here in Alaska has started blooming. Old wives tale here, once the blooms reach the top there are six weeks until winter.
Love the wevet colour paint , but maybe something a bit lighter colour for the room where you have your desk, but at the end of the day it should be your own personal choice. 🐈⬛🐈⬛🌹🌻🌷🪻⚘️

Hi Sean, As an interior designer, I would steer away from the dark color you are looking to do for a feature wall. Feature walls need to be just that, for featuring things such as art work and should have a color when in a small room that recedes such as blue or green in a muted tone. These colors too are calming. The color of a off white is excellent and as long as the undertone is leaning into a yellow base versus a gray base I think you will like it. The black or near black is a color that is now out as well as gray and the color direction is moving into honey and lighter warm tones. Taupes are good too for folks who still like gray undertones and are transitioning into warmer colors. I would also check the color when tested on the wall at different times of the day as with the natural light changes, so will the paint color and base your decision on the time of day you will be in the room the most. The bottom line though, is whatever color makes you happy then, that’s the color for you. As they say in my line of work, “It’s only paint and you can always re-paint it if you don’t like it!”
Sean, I am a landscape artist, working in watercolor. Would it be permissible to take a screen shot of a couple of the waterfall scenes in your video to paint from? The whole video was so lovely and refreshing.

One could get some great photos with the sun coming in through that bunch of mossy trees along your walk. Have never seen wind turbines up that close. They are huge! Don't worry, I never know which day it is either.
