I love the calmness of the dialog, no hassle or impending doom, just get on with the work on the excavator. Very good camera work too. Thanks from Dublin Ireland. 🇮🇪☘️
Good on ya for being such a great neighbor and helping him fix his new excavator Marty, it's good to build strong community that can rely on each other in hard times.
Marty, it's been a really rough week, and I desperately needed something calming for my mental health. The most challenging thing I've ever done mechanically is replace a carburettor on a lawnmower, so very basic stuff, so perhaps you may find it odd that your channel is a go-to for a mental health "treatment", but it SO does the trick. You calmly "fix" my brokenness as you find and calmly fix mechanical brokenness. And I thank you for it.
Because of the world we live in, most find themselves to some degree, in the same situation. Please consider a "fix" that is not temporary: "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; *I have overcome the world" [John 16v33] This peace is permanent-one the world can't give, nor the rites, rituals, and ceremonies of being religious-only by grace thru faith in Christ [Eph 2v8-9].
Thanks Marty, I always enjoy your videos. I do like the way, when you work with others, that you gently steer them in the 'right' direction - kudos. Cheers from across the ditch.
Great teamwork and a sound machine by the looks of it. always helps to bounce ideas of a helper; sadly as an oldie I have to talk to myself now but mustn't grumble. Still tackling maintenance after 65 years and love your posts, thank you, best from the UK.
Always love your channel Mr. T - I have never missed an episode. Even go back to Rambro! I like how your approach is always about solving the problem, whatever that takes. The show is reality and about real interactions and solutions. Gratz on 500k
Well done Marty just love watching you do things so chilled , we have a friend that has just spent 5 weeks out there in your lovely country she thoroughly enjoyed it. best wishes from the UK
...nice to see mates working together to get things done...😀...where my ancestors are from it is called noaberschap, which would be neighbourship in English....I am a Dutchman of Saxon origin...
That looks like a good machine with plenty of power and a good square foot print, those Isuzu engines are great and incredibly light on fuel in my experience 🏴👍🏻
Pull the drill apart and load the gears up with grease. I've had a couple of brand new grinders that had the same problem; red hot after a couple of minutes use; not enough lube from the factory!
Bought the cheapest nastiest angle grinder available new with a 1 year warranty... the grey one professionals have in their toolboxes to lend to "borrowers". Disassembled the gearbox straight after taking the machine out of the box. Small blobs of Yak fat randomly scattered off the cogs and onto the casing....and that was the lubrication! Filled it up with high temp grease....and it's lasted 10 years and counting.
There's nothing better than helping a friend tackle the jobs that seem to overwhelm us when we are doing it alone! Laughter IS THE BEST MEDICINE! Is that a Rhodesian Ridgeback? Wonderful Dogs hard workers good with children.
I really like watching Marty helping out his mates on getting their equipment up and running. Definitely a nice Sunday afternoon episode to enjoy between football games.
Diggers are such great machines. Seeing an old one like this makes you appreciate the progress that has been made in technology over the years though. But still how much better is this than digging with shovels and bars?
I love this friend of yours, super down to earth and resourceful. Very much enjoy watching you two tinker (washing machine generator esp!) Thanks again for the great video, congrats on 500k!
I have that same Makita drill. Its been back for repair 3 times. The gearbox broke in half once, the forward/backwards lever stopped working, the side handle broke, and it still has a problem that if it grabs on something the torque will twist the handle so much it locks the trigger on. I'd say the rear bearing has gone. It's pretty common in that model. If it's not under warranty it's a super easy fix and you can get a far better bearing than factory for it. If it's the gearbox you're in for a world of pain. My new grinder also went back twice and still has noisy bearings. My new demo hammer has a slipping clutch. My 3 year old circular saw has a dead trigger. I've lost a LOT of faith in Makita recently. O bought a new 40v saw last week so hopefully it goes good.
It’s amazing just how a little TLC can bring a beat up old machine back to life offense that’s a lot nicer then a lot of equipment I’ve seen running around it seems to have come out pretty well hope the new owner gets years of good use out of it !
I thoroughly enjoy these episodes when you take neglected and or/damaged equipment and give it new life. It is always educational and satisfying to see this equipment back in use. Job well done.☮️X🇺🇸living happy Vietnam🇻🇳
Thanks for sharing MartyT , see you in the next one my friend! Louisiana USA 🇺🇸 sending prayers and positive vibes to you and your family! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻💯💯💯
Always nice to have a mate to help sort things or even just for encouragement! You are fantastic! When I go to buy some heavy equipment, I'm going to need you in the states to help me look it over! ;-)
That broken bolt was a great candidate for a nut to be welded on to it. It not only gives you something to grip it with, but heats everything up during welding.
As tight as it is and as well as it runs it looks like it was pretty well maintained during it's working life. Either that or it was pretty low hours. Thanks for the video!
Excellent work men. Another machine successfully restored to working condition. Good to work with neighbours too. interesting name for the doggo; Gumboot. Definitely a great job all round.
Hi Marty, I can’t believe the inspector is allowing you to do this without him being there. The trust must be getting better. You must think that you know what you’re doing anyway it’s always good to see the young fella helping out. Keep up the good work always enjoy the videos Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia. 🇦🇺 I’m on the big island 🏝️
Nice seeing the old relic doing some work. I've seen a few Isuzu diesel engines and they seem like they would last 10 lifetimes even with little to no maintenance. Glad you guys are doing this old girl right! Hope you have a wonderful holiday Marty.
That's now a digger going well. I hope your neighbour changes the track motor hub oils and fix the noisy exhaust... Well done all the same, your neighbour is a top bloke too.
Hey Marty, thanks for the hours of inspiration! I’m trying and failing to emulate what you do while keep my expectation level at below 10% of what you achieve. I’m finding new ways to die every day with the mistakes I’m making with machinery 😂😂. What would help me enormously, and maybe keep me alive, is to figure out how to connect a hydraulic forklift attachment I recently purchased to my Ford 1900 (shibaura) that I also recently picked up. I’m in Wellsford, New Zealand and trying to get by with a ‘make do and mend’ approach. Keep up the awesome work and if you’re ever in Wellsford, please swing by and say hi and maybe help swing a wrench or two 😊. Cheers Jonathan
Thousands of machines all over the world and all they need is routine maintenance. Seems to be the moral of this story. Good you mate got a good machine for the cost of some repairs.
She's a beaut Clark as they say. Bit of well needed TLC and it's running like should. With all his plans it will look good and be real handy. A special thank you to Friday parts for your free parts. Great video guys. Safe travels y'all. Ken.
I would try to heat up the bolt then shock it with cold water, then stick the extractor in the hole. The extractor would restrict the metal movement if in the hole already. It doesn't always work, but heat shocking it has been my no1 method. Sometimes (mostly with big bolts) i heat it up with the coil, shock it, then leave it until the next day and they come out. I've only had one stubborn nut not work, but it was pretty severely eaten by rust, more like a truncated cone than a nut.
I came close to crying when the thermostat housing was removed. Imagine how easy it was then when you didn't need to remove most of the front of the engine to get the thermostat out to change it. I had a 2000 Hyundai Elantra and it started overheating real bad. Turned out the far king *plastic cap* they used on the top of the radiator had split off. 53 years ago at my after school job in the Service Station the caps were desoldered, removed, the radiator cores flushed out and the top and bottom caps were soldered back on. Cheap job and basically a new radiator. My plastic piece of crap couldn't be fixed so it cost me $490 for a new radiator 11 years ago. My first car was a 1966 Triumph Herald and when the radiator got a small leak in it then it was a short trip to Tony _the_ Butler parts store in Stanmore Rd IIRC for a can or two of Bars Leaks and problem solved. NOW you can't fix anything unless you have a high end ODBC II reader and the multi hundreds of $$$ for the yearly subscription. 🙄 How many hours on the engine Marty? Sounds real nice but it may be the video software editing the _naughty_ sounds out but I don't think that after what you commented on at the end. It's going to look really sweet when the dents and rust are removed and then gets a new paint job for the ball. 👍 I know it won't want Cat Yellow which they charge an arm and both legs for but on Channel I watched the YTer took a Cat paint sample to the paint store and got it colour matched. Got Cat colour without paying through the nose for it. Should work for this little gem so he gets the genuine factory colour as a way cheaper price. It's just a thought. 👍
For medium size broken bolts I had pretty good results with those left hand thread extractors, though I prefer turning them with a wrench (+ light tapping with a hammer) rather than an impact driver. Yes I prefer the calmness too. Wattching uk and USA builds and so dramatic it's annoying
what your not all about the western dramma? makes two of us
What about the laughter?
Damn you. Was just about to go to bed.
Me too
Same 😂

Hahaha..! Me too… to funny. 2hrs ago posted and already 15K views…, wow…!
Good on ya for being such a great neighbor and helping him fix his new excavator Marty, it's good to build strong community that can rely on each other in hard times.
any time really, the world would be a much much better place with honest leadership and every working as one big co-op
Having someone working with you that actually is thinking and helping! Priceless!!
Yeh, interested helpers are rare .
Too right. He almost sounds like an Aussie. How long has he been on the mainland with ya..?🙂
Marty, it's been a really rough week, and I desperately needed something calming for my mental health. Well said....hope you feel better soon......:)

I do the same thing, just keep going, it gets better
Thanks Marty, I always enjoy your videos. I do like the way, when you work with others, that you gently steer them in the 'right' direction - kudos. Cheers from across the ditch.

Love it. Good neighbours are like gold.
Yo Marty, I'm speechless on this one.
Never about the MAGIC of maintenance.... periodic maintenance keeps failures away.
It's amazing the value a mechanically talented person bring to our society and the community.
Marty inspires me to fix things. Just repaired my20+ y.o. washing machine and got it back in service. Keep up the good work, Marty T!
You can make a power generator from that! Marty style!

Hello from 🇬🇧
Nice to see another piece of old machinery given a refresh and a new lease of life 👍🏻
Nothing better than a Sunday morning, fresh coffee and the latest installment from Marty. Cheers mate.
This channel is a conduit of experience and skill, soak it up folks. Thanks for a look around another machine. Cheers.
Everyone needs a neighbor like Marty... 👍
Always love your channel Mr. T - I have never missed an episode. Even go back to Rambro! I like how your approach is always about solving the problem, whatever that takes. The show is reality and about real interactions and solutions. Gratz on 500k
I love watching your videos. I’m not very mechanically inclined but I do enjoy watching how it’s done
You guys did a good job and got a nice working machine out of the deal too.
How do you know ? Surname ?
The kobelco sounds as if it has, an exhaust leak, great content as always😊
Yes it does, that will be the next job
I couldn’t listen to that all day
That looks like a good machine with plenty of power and a good square foot print, those Isuzu engines are great and incredibly light on fuel in my experience 🏴👍🏻
Pull the drill apart and load the gears up with grease. I've had a couple of brand new grinders
that had the same problem; red hot after a couple of minutes use; not enough lube from the factory!
Same with my DeWalt sawzall
Since i opened one and saw almost no grease in it, i always fill them up, and no gears broke on them ever since.
Most angle grinders I've checked over the grease in the box is doing nothing after 5 years max.
Starting a new job tomorrow and stressin, this video is just what a guy needed
@20:37 Wow! Even the foreman is getting involved! What a solid team effort!
There's nothing better than helping a friend tackle the jobs that seem to overwhelm us when we are doing it alone! Laughter IS THE BEST MEDICINE! Is that a Rhodesian Ridgeback? Wonderful Dogs hard workers good with children.
I'm not sure what breed he is, he might be part ridgeback
Both diggers are handling their correct sized sticks with confidant. The little brown is my favourite
Well done Mate I would never miss one of your videos ,neighbors helping neighbors that's what it's all about
What a good old machine! Trusty! I bet she will get some work done yet! I’d love to see him paint it!
I really like watching Marty helping out his mates on getting their equipment up and running.
Definitely a nice Sunday afternoon episode to enjoy between football games.

Always have time for a Marty T video
Good job, she's running sweetly.👌
Thanks for posting Marty
Good getting that digger back to working looks like it should work great for a long time.
Don't have as many cheap pickups where I live so love watching you get these bargains
great episode 19:56 even the dog was trying to help and having a lot of fun
I have that same Makita drill. Its been back for repair 3 times. The gearbox broke in half once, the forward/backwards lever stopped working, the side handle broke, and it still has a problem that if it grabs on something the torque will twist the handle so much it locks the trigger on.

Bolts snapping of, paradise.
Thanks for the Sunday viewing Marty. Good to see that tool kit you got at the beginning is still going well :-) .
Except for the 10mm I'll bet! lol
20:42 amusing change in the dog's demeanor when the drone is airborne lol.
Doggo is willing to fight the excavator but scared of the little drone.
I thought the dog was waiting for it to get close enough to reach.
It’s amazing just how a little TLC can bring a beat up old machine back to life offense that’s a lot nicer then a lot of equipment I’ve seen running around it seems to have come out pretty well hope the new owner gets years of good use out of it !

Dang having Mr Marty as a neighbor has great benefits.
I got this notification 12 hours ago and been hanging to watch it all day haha. Thanks for sharing.

That broken bolt was a great candidate for a nut to be welded on to it. It not only gives you something to grip it with, but heats everything up during welding.
That was the next option, my mate had left his welder at work
Digger update....sweet.👍👍
Awesome job on repair of the Excavator! Marty job well done! Thank you for sharing 😊
As tight as it is and as well as it runs it looks like it was pretty well maintained during it's working life. Either that or it was pretty low hours. Thanks for the video!
Look at the wear on the tracks - almost no bite left. It looks like it has had a life on hard surfaces at least
That seems to be running well. Excellent buy. Great work getting it into good condition and giving it a new life.
Top video. Good mates help each other. Even the dog pitching in for his dad by removing some bushes
Another old digger brought back to life, well done Marty.👍👍
Good work once again Marty. I hate broken bolts.
Excellent work men. Another machine successfully restored to working condition. Good to work with neighbours too. interesting name for the doggo; Gumboot. Definitely a great job all round.

i so look forward to new videos....what a difference gloves make!😄
Another good save from the scrap yard.
Happy to see again mate thanks again great job mate hope you are doing well
Nice of you to give your neighbor a hand with the old girl! He will be a big help looking after the track in to your property.
Great Job Guys on finally getting the Med size Excavator working again.. works great..
Amazing the head gasket it that thing survived the trip.
Nice seeing the old relic doing some work. I've seen a few Isuzu diesel engines and they seem like they would last 10 lifetimes even with little to no maintenance. Glad you guys are doing this old girl right! Hope you have a wonderful holiday Marty.
Start at A then B finally, Z ,one step at a time. Can't do better. Well done, both of you.
Not sure why this is mesmerizing, but it is.
Love watching all your videos from sunny Florida.
Your mate knows how to drive a digger! Thanks for the video!
I was operating, he's still learning
@@MartyT Ah well then. your mate knows how to use a camera! :)
Thanks for sharing and taking us along.Awesome and outstanding content as always.
That's now a digger going well. I hope your neighbour changes the track motor hub oils and fix the noisy exhaust...
Well done all the same, your neighbour is a top bloke too.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Don’t know shit about heavy machinery but love to see you work on theme. No hassle problem solving.
Awesome video as always mate, I always look forward to seeing a new video from ya grace my feed! Top work 🤙

2 blokes having a good time 😊
An idea could be to ad the time spend on the fix. Like actual worktime and time with waiting for parts etc..
Thousands of machines all over the world and all they need is routine maintenance. Seems to be the moral of this story. Good you mate got a good machine for the cost of some repairs.
Perfect for a saturday evening! Thanks Marty

I keep three 10 mm's in my box as one goes missing and re appears months later lol . Love you videos.
Nice job fellas so good to see the old girl working 👍
Very nice work mister. You have a great setup in the woods. I’m am jealous. He he.
Great to have an awesome Mate like your friend here you guys work well together!
Poor dog, surrounded by evil things. The bucket, the branches, the drone. ;-)
😂
Seeing this come across my feed put a smile on my face. Another Marty T classic!
Marty you know how to make video...your buddy looks like he knows what he is doing as well. Keepem comin
Marty , Another great repair job !!! Well done Mate !!!!🛠🛠🛠
Looks like the kids (kitties) will have to wait for dinner now... youre a bad influence mate lol . Cheers.

Marty definitely should be awarded a knighthood for services to rejuvenation and reclamation 🇬🇧😊
That fuel filter looks to be growing some of that algae I’ve heard of in diesel tanks.
We are looking forward to this excavator being revitalized.
Thanks for the parts !

Looks like "diesel bugs" were living in the fuel tank. Interesting video. Good job.
Great Job ! Thanks for taking us along .
Great digger, nice little project, those Kobelco engines are bomb proof. When your mate gets the bodywork finished, it's going to be mint. 👍
That's one more happy Excavator, that's got a new home. Good on ya Marty, thanks for the video!
For medium size broken bolts I had pretty good results with those left hand thread extractors, though I prefer turning them with a wrench (+ light tapping with a hammer) rather than an impact driver. Found decent quality sets of 4 or 5 for less than 10 euros, I don't know what's available in your area but for online orders look for any EU manufacturers (mine were made in Poland).
